Atos 1
1 Eu fiz o primeiro livro, ó Teófilo, sobre todas as coisas que Jesus começou, tanto a fazer como a ensinar;
I have made the former treatise, O Theophilus, of al that Jesus began to doe and teach,
2 Até o dia em que ele foi recebido acima, depois de pelo Espírito Santo ter dado mandamentos aos apóstolos que tinha escolhido;
Vntill the day that hee was taken vp, after that hee through the holy Ghost, had giuen commandements vnto the Apostles, whome hee had chosen:
3 Aos quais também, depois de ter sofrido, apresentou-se vivo com muitas evidências; sendo visto por eles durante quarenta dias, e falando [-lhes] das coisas relativas ao reino de Deus.
To whome also he presented himselfe aliue after that he had suffered, by many infallible tokens, being seene of them by the space of fourtie daies, and speaking of those thinges which appertaine to the kingdome of God.
4 E, reunindo-os, mandou-lhes que não saíssem de Jerusalém, mas que esperassem a promessa do Pai que (disse ele) de mim ouvistes.
And when he had gathered them together, he commanded them, that they should not depart from Hierusalem, but to waite for the promise of the Father, which sayde hee, yee haue heard of me.
5 Porque João batizou com água, mas vós sereis batizados com o Espírito Santo, não muitos dias depois destes.
For Iohn in deede baptized with water, but ye shall be baptized with the holy Ghost within these fewe daies.
6 Então aqueles que tinham se reunido lhe perguntaram, dizendo: Senhor, tu restaurarás neste tempo o Reino a Israel?
When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore the kingdome to Israel?
7 E ele lhes disse: Não pertence a vós saber os tempos ou estações que o Pai pôs em sua própria autoridade.
And hee saide vnto them, It is not for you to know the times, or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his owne power,
8 Mas vós recebereis poder do Espírito Santo, que virá sobre vós; e vós sereis minhas testemunhas, tanto em Jerusalém como em toda a Judeia, e Samaria, e até ao último [lugar] da terra.
But yee shall receiue power of the holy Ghost, when he shall come on you: and ye shalbe witnesses vnto me both in Hierusalem and in all Iudea, and in Samaria, and vnto the vttermost part of the earth.
9 E tendo ele dito estas coisas, enquanto eles o viam, ele foi levantado acima, e uma nuvem o tirou dos olhos deles.
And when he had spoken these things, while they behelde, he was taken vp: for a cloude tooke him vp out of their sight.
10 E enquanto eles estavam com os olhos fixos ao céu, depois dele ter ido, eis que dois homens de roupas brancas se puseram junto a eles;
And while they looked stedfastly towarde heauen, as hee went, beholde, two men stoode by them in white apparell,
11 Os quais também disseram: Homens galileus, por que estais olhando para o céu? Este Jesus, que foi tomado de vós acima ao céu, assim virá, da maneira como o vistes ir ao céu.
Which also sayde, Yee men of Galile, why stande yee gasing into heauen? This Iesus which is taken vp from you into heauen, shall so come, as yee haue seene him goe into heauen.
12 Então eles voltaram a Jerusalém do monte que se chama das Oliveiras, o qual está perto de Jerusalém [à distância] de um caminho de sábado.
Then returned they vnto Hierusalem from the mount that is called the mount of Oliues, which is neere to Hierusalem, being from it a Sabbath daies iourney.
13 E ao entrarem, subiram ao cômodo superior, onde ficaram Pedro, Tiago, João, André, Filipe, Tomé, Bartolomeu, Mateus, Tiago [filho] de Alfeu, Simão Zelote e Judas [irmão] de Tiago.
And when they were come in, they went vp into an vpper chamber, where abode both Peter and Iames, and Iohn, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartlemew, and Matthewe, Iames the sonne of Alpheus, and Simon Zelotes, and Iudas Iames brother.
14 Todos estes perseveravam concordando em orações, e petições, com as mulheres, com Maria a mãe de Jesus, e com os irmãos dele.
These all continued with one accorde in prayer and supplication with the women, and Marie the mother of Iesus, and with his brethren.
15 E em [algum d] aqueles dias, havendo uma multidão reunida de cerca de cento e vinte pessoas, Pedro se levantou no meio dos discípulos e disse:
And in those dayes Peter stoode vp in the middes of the disciples, and sayde (nowe the nomber of names that were in one place were about an hundreth and twentie.)
16 Homens irmãos, era necessário que se cumprisse a Escritura, que o Espírito Santo, por meio da boca de Davi, predisse quanto a Judas, que foi o guia daqueles que prenderam a Jesus.
Yee men and brethren, this scripture must needes haue beene fulfilled, which the holy Ghost by the mouth of Dauid spake before of Iudas, which was guide to them that tooke Iesus.
17 Porque ele foi contado conosco, e obteve uma porção neste ministério.
For hee was nombred with vs, and had obteined fellowship in this ministration.
18 Este pois, adquiriu um campo por meio do pagamento da maldade, e tendo caído de cabeça para baixo, partiu-se ao meio, e todos os seus órgãos internos caíram para fora.
He therefore hath purchased a field with the reward of iniquitie: and when he had throwen downe himselfe headlong, hee brast asunder in the middes, and all his bowels gushed out.
19 E [isso] foi conhecido por todos os que habitam em Jerusalém, de maneira que aquele campo se chama em sua própria língua Aceldama, isto é, campo de sangue.
And it is knowen vnto all the inhabitants of Hierusalem, in so much, that that field is called in their owne language, Aceldama, That is, the field of blood.
20 Porque está escrito no livro dos Salmos: Sua habitação se faça deserta, e não haja quem nela habite; e outro tome seu trabalho de supervisão.
For it is written in the booke of Psalmes, Let his habitation be void, and let no man dwel therein: also, Let another take his charge.
21 Portanto é necessário, que dos homens que nos acompanharam todo o tempo em que o Senhor Jesus entrava e saía conosco,
Wherefore of these men which haue companied with vs, all the time that the Lord Iesus was conuersant among vs,
22 Começando desde o batismo de João, até o dia em que [diante] de nós ele foi recebido acima, se faça um destes testemunha conosco de sua ressurreição.
Beginning from the baptisme of Iohn vnto the day that hee was taken vp from vs, must one of them bee made a witnesse with vs of his resurrection.
23 E apresentaram dois: a José, chamado Barsabás, que tinha por sobrenome [o] Justo; e a Matias.
And they presented two, Ioseph called Barsabas, whose surname was Iustus, and Matthias.
24 E orando, disseram: Tu, Senhor, conhecedor dos corações de todos, mostra a qual destes dois tu tens escolhido.
And they praied, saying, Thou Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shewe whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 Para que ele tome parte deste ministério e apostolado, do qual Judas se desviou para ir a seu próprio lugar.
That he may take the roume of this ministration and Apostleship, from which Iudas hath gone astray, to goe to his owne place.
26 E lançaram-lhes as sortes; e caiu a sorte sobre Matias. E ele [passou] a ser contado junto com os onze apóstolos.
Then they gaue foorth their lottes: and the lotte fell on Matthias, and hee was by a common consent counted with the eleuen Apostles.
