2 Coríntios 1

1 Paulo, apóstolo de Jesus Cristo, pela vontade de Deus, e o irmão Timóteo, para a igreja de Deus que está em Corinto, com todos os santos que estão em toda a Acaia.

Paul, the apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and brother Timothy, to the church of God which is at Corinth, along with all the saints who are in all Achaia:

2 Graça e paz de Deus nosso Pai, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

3 Bendito seja o Deus e Pai de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, o Pai das misericórdias, e o Deus de toda consolação,

Blessed is the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and the God of all consolation;

4 Que nos consola em toda aflição nossa, para que também possamos consolar aos que estiverem em alguma aflição, com a consolação com que nós mesmos por Deus somos consolados.

the one comforting us in all our tribulation, in order that we may be able to comfort those in all tribulation, through the consolation with which we ourselves are comforted of God,

5 Porque assim como os sofrimentos de Cristo são abundantes em nós, assim também por Cristo é abundante nossa consolação.

because as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our consolation through Christ also abounds.

6 Porém se nós somos afligidos, é para vossa consolação e salvação; se estamos consolados, [também é] para vossa consolação, que opera enquanto se suporta os mesmos sofrimentos que nós também sofremos.

But if we are troubled it is in behalf of your consolation and salvation; if we are comforted, it is in behalf of your consolation, working in you through the endurance of the same sufferings which we also suffer.

7 E nossa esperança por vós é firme, sabendo que, como sois participantes dos sofrimentos, assim também [sois] da consolação.

And our hope is stedfast in your behalf; knowing that, as you are the partakers of the sufferings, so you are also of the consolation.

8 Porque, irmãos, não queremos que ignoreis nossa aflição que nos sobreveio na Ásia, em que fomos excessivamente oprimidos, mais do que podíamos suportar, de tal modo que já tínhamos perdido a esperança de sobrevivermos.

For we do not wish you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning our affliction taking place in Asia, because we were burthened exceedingly, above our power, so that we despaired even of living:

9 Por isso já tínhamos em nós mesmos a sentença de morte, para que não confiássemos em nós mesmos, mas sim em Deus, que ressuscita aos mortos;

but we had the answer of death in ourselves, in order that we might not trust in ourselves, but in God who raised the dead:

10 O qual nos livrou de tamanha morte, e [ainda nos] livra; nele esperamos que também ainda [nos] livrará;

who delivered us from so great a death, and will deliver: in whom he have hope that he will also yet deliver;

11 Junto do vosso auxílio com oração por nós, a fim de que, pelo favor [concedido] a nós por causa de muitas pessoas, por muitos sejam dadas graças [a Deus] por nós.

you also cooperating in our behalf in prayer; in order that, the gift which is bestowed upon us from many persons, may through many be a source of thanks given in our behalf.

12 Porque nosso orgulho é este: o testemunho de nossa consciência, que com simplicidade e sinceridade de Deus, não com sabedoria carnal, mas com a graça de Deus, nós nos comportamos no mundo, e especialmente convosco.

For our boasting is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in holiness and purity of God, not in carnal wisdom, but in the grace of God, we have sojourned in the world, and especially towards you.

13 Porque nenhuma outra coisa vos escrevemos, a não ser as que já sabeis, ou também entendeis; e espero que as entendereis por completo.

For we do not write other things to you, but those things which you read and know, and I hope that you will know them perfectly:

14 Assim como também já em parte tendes nos entendido, que somos vosso orgulho, como também vós sois o nosso [orgulho] no dia do Senhor Jesus.

as you have also known us in part, because we are your glorying, as you ours in the day of the Lord Jesus.

15 E com esta confiança eu quis primeiro vir até vós, para que tivésseis uma segunda graça;

And in this confidence I wished to come unto you sooner, that you may have a second grace;

16 E por vós passar para a Macedônia; e da Macedônia vir outra vez até vós; e [depois] ser enviado por vós até a Judeia.

and through you to go unto Macedonia, and again from Macedonia to come to you, and by you to be sent forward into Judea.

17 Quando eu planejei isso, por acaso fiz de forma irresponsável? Ou o que eu planejo, planejo segundo a carne, para que eu diga sim e não [ao mesmo tempo]?

Then wishing this, whether did I use lightness of purpose? or the things which I counsel, do I counsel according to the flesh, in order that it may be with me yes yes and no no?

18 Porém [assim como] Deus é fiel, nossa palavra para vós não foi sim e não [ao mesmo tempo].

But God is faithful, that our word which is to you is not yes and no.

19 Porque o Filho de Deus, Jesus Cristo, o que por nós foi pregado entre vós, [isto é], por mim, e Silvano, e Timóteo, não foi sim e não, mas nele foi o “sim”.

For Christ Jesus, the Son of God, the one being preached by us, through me and Silvanus and Timothy, was not yes and no, but it was yes in him.

20 Porque todas as promessas nele são “sim”, e nele [se diga] Amém, para glória de Deus por meio de nós.

For so many promises of God, in Him are yes; therefore indeed through him they are Amen unto the glory to God through us.

21 Mas o que nos confirma convosco, e o que nos ungiu, é Deus.

But the one confirming us along with you unto Christ, and having anointed us, is God.

22 O qual também nos selou, e [nos] deu o penhor do Espírito em nosso corações.

Who also having sealed us, and given us the earnest of the Spirit in our hearts.

23 Porém invoco a Deus por testemunha sobre minha alma, que para vos poupar, até agora não vim a Corinto.

But I call God to witness to my soul, that sparing you I did not yet come into Corinth:

24 Não que sejamos senhores de vossa fé; porém somos cooperadores de vossa alegria. Porque pela fé estais firmes.

not that we domineer over your faith, but we are fellow-workers of your joy: for by faith you stand.
