2 Coríntios 9

1 Porque não é necessário vos escrever sobre o trabalho que se faz para os santos.

For of the relief which is for the saints, it is needless for me to write to you.

2 Porque eu sei a prontidão de vosso ânimo, do qual eu me orgulho de vós para os Macedônios, que Acaia já está pronta desde o ano passado; e o zelo que [começou] de vós tem estimulado a muitos.

For I know your readiness of mind, on account of which I boasted of you to the Macedonians, that Achaia was ready a year ago: and your zeal has incited very many.

3 Porém enviei a estes irmãos, para que nosso orgulho quanto a vós neste assunto não seja vão; para que (como eu já disse) possais estar prontos.

But I have sent the brethren, that our boasting of you in this respect may not be in vain; that you may be ready, as I said:

4 Para que, se caso vierem [alguns] macedônios comigo, e vos encontrarem despreparados, não nos envergonhemos (para não dizermos vós), por causa da confiança neste orgulho.

lest, possibly, should the Macedonians come with me, and find you unprepared, we (not to say you) might be made ashamed by this same confident boasting.

5 Portanto achei necessário dizer a estes irmãos que viessem primeiro até vós, e preparassem primeiro vossa generosidade, já antes prometida, para que esteja pronta como boa vontade e não como avareza.

Therefore, I thought it necessary to exhort the brethren to go before to you, and make ready beforehand your bounty, which has been so much talked of before, that this might be ready as a bounty, and not as a gift extorted from you.

6 [Digo], porém isto, que o que semeia pouco, também pouco colherá; e o que semeia generosamente, também generosamente colherá.

But remember this, that he who sows sparingly, shall also reap sparingly; and he who sows bountifully, shall also reap bountifully.

7 Cada qual [faça] como propõe em [seu] coração, não com tristeza, ou por obrigação; porque Deus ama ao que dá com alegria.

Let each one give, as he purposes in his heart; not with grief, nor from necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver.

8 E Deus é poderoso para fazer abundar em vós toda graça, para que sempre tendo de tudo, em tudo suficientes, abundeis em toda boa obra.

And God is able to confer every gift upon you abundantly, that you, always having all sufficiency in every thing, may have enough for every good work;

9 Assim como está escrito: Ele espalhou [e] deu aos pobres; sua justiça permanece para sempre. (aiōn g165)

as it is written: He has scattered abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness remains forever. (aiōn g165)

10 Ora, aquele que dá a semente ao que semeia, também [vos] dê pão para comer, e multiplique sua sementeira, e aumente os frutos de vossa justiça.

Now, he that furnishes seed to the sower will both furnish bread for food, and multiply your seed sown, and increase the fruits of your righteousness;

11 Para que em tudo enriqueçais em toda generosidade, a qual opera por nós, [resultando] em graças a Deus.

that you may be enriched in every thing, for all liberality which produces through us thanksgiving to God;

12 Porque o trabalho deste serviço está suprindo não somente a falta dos santos, mas também se torna abundante em muitas graças a Deus.

because the administration of this service not only supplies the wants of the saints, but also abounds in many thanksgivings to God;

13 Porque pela prova deste trabalho, glorificarão a Deus quanto à submissão de vossa confissão ao Evangelho de Cristo, e [da] bondade da comunhão para com eles e para com todos;

(since through the proof which this service gives, they glorify God for your acknowledged subjection to the gospel of Christ, and for the liberality of your contribution for them, and for all; )

14 E por sua oração por vós, tendo saudades de vós, por causa da excelente graça de Deus sobre vós.

and in their prayer for you, since they have strong affection for you on account of the eminent grace of God that is in you.

15 E graças a Deus por seu dom indescritível.

Thanks be to God for his unspeakable gift.
