1 E Josias fez páscoa ao SENHOR em Jerusalém, e sacrificaram a páscoa aos catorze do mês primeiro.
Now Josiah kept the Passover to the Lord in Jerusalem, and it was immolated on the fourteenth day of the first month.
2 E pôs aos sacerdotes em seus empregos, e confirmou-os no ministério da casa do SENHOR.
And he appointed the priests in their offices, and he exhorted them to minister in the house of the Lord.
3 E disse aos levitas que ensinavam a todo Israel, e que estavam dedicados ao SENHOR: Ponde a arca do santuário na casa que edificou Salomão filho de Davi, rei de Israel, para que não a carregueis mais sobre os ombros. Agora servireis ao SENHOR vosso Deus, e a seu povo Israel.
Also, he spoke with the Levites, by whose instruction all of Israel was sanctified to the Lord, saying: “Place the ark in the sanctuary of the temple, which Solomon, the son of David, the king of Israel, built. For never again shall you carry it. Instead, now you shall minister to the Lord your God, and to his people Israel.
4 Preparai-vos segundo as famílias de vossos pais, por vossas ordens, conforme à prescrição de Davi rei de Israel, e de Salomão seu filho.
And prepare yourselves by your houses and families, within each division, just as David, the king of Israel, instructed, and just as his son Solomon has written.
5 Ficai no santuário segundo a distribuição das famílias de vossos irmãos os filhos do povo, e segundo a divisão da família dos levitas.
And minister in the sanctuary, by the Levitical families and companies.
6 Sacrificai logo a páscoa: e depois de santificar-vos, preparai a vossos irmãos, para que façam conforme à palavra do SENHOR dada por meio de Moisés.
And having been sanctified, immolate the Passover. And then prepare your brothers, so that they may be able to act in accord with the words which the Lord has spoken by the hand of Moses.”
7 E o rei Josias deu ao povo ovelhas, cordeiros, e cabritos dos rebanhos, em número de trinta mil, e três mil bois, tudo para a páscoa, para todos os que estavam presentes: isto era do patrimônio do rei.
After this, Josiah gave to all the people, those who had been found there at the solemnity of the Passover, thirty thousand lambs and young goats from the flocks, and other kinds of small cattle, and also three thousand oxen. All these were from the substance of the king.
8 Também seus oficiais doaram com generosidade ao povo, e aos sacerdotes e levitas. Hilquias, Zacarias e Jeiel, líderes da casa de Deus, deram aos sacerdotes para fazer a páscoa duas mil e seiscentos, e trezentos bois.
Also, his rulers offered what they had vowed freely, as much for the people as for the priests and Levites. Moreover, Hilkiah, and Zechariah, and Jehiel, rulers of the house of the Lord, gave to the priests, in order to observe the Passover, two thousand six hundred small cattle, and three hundred oxen.
9 Também Conanias, e Semaías e Natanael, seus irmãos, e Hasabias, Jeiel, e Jozabade, chefes dos levitas, deram aos levitas para os sacrifícios da páscoa cinco mil, e quinhentos bois.
And Conaniah, with Shemaiah and Nethanel, his brothers, indeed also Hashabiah and Jeiel and Jozabad, rulers of the Levites, gave to the rest of the Levites, in order to celebrate the Passover, five thousand small cattle, and five hundred oxen.
10 Prontificado assim o serviço, os sacerdotes se colocaram em seus postos, e também os levitas em suas ordens, conforme ao mandamento do rei.
And the ministry was prepared. And the priests stood in their office, and the Levites also stood in their companies, according to the order of the king.
11 E sacrificaram a páscoa; e os sacerdotes espargiam o sangue tomado da mão dos levitas, e os levitas tiravam os couros.
And the Passover was immolated. And the priests sprinkled the blood with their hand, and the Levites drew away the pelts of the holocausts.
12 E tomaram do holocausto, para dar conforme as repartições pelas famílias dos do povo, a fim de que oferecessem ao SENHOR, segundo está escrito no livro de Moisés; e também tomaram dos bois.
And they put these aside, so that they might give them to each one, by their houses and families, and so that they might be offered to the Lord, just as it was written in the book of Moses. And with the oxen, they acted similarly.
13 E assaram a páscoa ao fogo segundo o rito; mas o que havia sido santificado o cozinharam em panelas, em caldeiras, e caldeirões, e repartiram-no o prontamente a todo o povo.
And they roasted the Passover above fire, in accord with what was written in the law. Yet truly, the victims of peace offerings they boiled in cauldrons and kettles and pots. And they promptly distributed these to all the common people.
14 E depois prepararam para si e para os sacerdotes; porque os sacerdotes, filhos de Arão, estiveram ocupados até a noite no sacrifício dos holocaustos e das gorduras; portanto, os levitas prepararam para si, e para os sacerdotes filhos de Arão.
Then afterward, they made preparations for themselves and for the priests. Indeed, the priests had been occupied in the oblations of the holocausts and the fat offerings, even until night. Therefore, the Levites made preparations for themselves and for the priests, the sons of Aaron, last.
15 Também os cantores filhos de Asafe estavam em seu posto, conforme ao mandamento de Davi, de Asafe e de Hemã, e de Jedutum vidente do rei; também os porteiros estavam a cada porta; e não era necessário que se afastassem de seu ministério, porque seus irmãos, os levitas, preparavam para eles.
Now the singers, the sons of Asaph, were standing in their order, according to the instruction of David, and of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, the prophets of the king. Truly, the porters kept watch at each gate, so as not to depart from their ministry even for one moment. And for this reason, their brothers, the Levites, prepared foods for them.
16 Assim foi aprontei todo o serviço do SENHOR naquele dia, para fazer a páscoa, e sacrificar os holocaustos sobre o altar do SENHOR, conforme ao mandamento do rei Josias.
And so, the entire worship ritual of the Lord was completed on that day, so that they observed the Passover and offered holocausts upon the altar of the Lord, in accord with the precept of king Josiah.
17 E os filhos de Israel que se acharam ali, fizeram a páscoa naquele tempo, e a solenidade dos pães sem levedura, por sete dias.
And the sons of Israel, who had been found there, kept the Passover at that time, with the solemnity of unleavened bread, for seven days.
18 Nunca tal páscoa foi feita em Israel desde os dias de Samuel o profeta; nem nenhum rei de Israel fez páscoa tal como a que fez o rei Josias, e os sacerdotes e levitas, e todo Judá e Israel, os que se acharam ali, juntamente com os moradores de Jerusalém.
There was no Passover similar to this one in Israel, from the days of Samuel the prophet. And neither did anyone, out of all the kings of Israel, keep such a Passover as did Josiah, the priests and Levites, and all those of Judah and Israel who had been found, and the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
19 Esta páscoa foi celebrada no ano dezoito do rei Josias.
In the eighteenth year of the reign of Josiah, this Passover was celebrated.
20 Depois de todas estas coisas, logo de haver Josias preparado a casa, Neco rei do Egito subiu a fazer guerra em Carquêmis junto a Eufrates; e saiu Josias contra ele.
After Josiah had repaired the temple, Neco, the king of Egypt, ascended to fight at Carchemish, beside the Euphrates. And Josiah went out to meet him.
21 E ele lhe enviou embaixadores, dizendo: Que temos eu e tu, rei de Judá? Eu não venho contra ti hoje, mas sim contra a casa que me faz guerra: e Deus disse que me apressasse. Deixa-te de intrometer-te com Deus, que é comigo, não te destrua.
But he sent messengers to him, saying: “What is there between me and you, O king of Judah? I have not come against you today. Instead, I am fighting against another house, to which God instructed me to go promptly. Refrain from acting against God, who is with me, otherwise he may kill you.”
22 Mas Josias não voltou seu rosto dele, em vez disso disfarçou-se para dar-lhe batalha, e não atendeu às palavras de Neco, que eram da boca de Deus; e veio a dar-lhe a batalha no campo de Megido.
Josiah was not willing to return. Instead, he prepared for war against him. Neither would he agree to the words of Neco from the mouth of God. In truth, he traveled so that he might do battle in the field of Megiddo.
23 E os arqueiros atiraram ao rei Josias flechas; e disse o rei a seus servos: Tirai-me daqui, porque estou ferido gravemente.
And there, having been wounded by archers, he said to his servants: “Lead me away from the battle. For I have been severely wounded.”
24 Então seus servos o tiraram daquele carro, e puseram-lhe em outro segundo carro que tinha, e levaram-lhe a Jerusalém, e morreu; e sepultaram-lhe nos sepulcros de seus pais. E todo Judá e Jerusalém fez luto por Josias.
And they took him from the chariot, into another chariot which was following him, as was the custom of kings. And they transported him to Jerusalem. And he died, and he was buried in the mausoleum of his fathers. And all of Judah and Jerusalem mourned for him,
25 E lamentou Jeremias por Josias, e todos os cantores e cantoras recitam suas lamentações sobre Josias até hoje; e as deram por norma para lamentar em Israel, as quais estão escritas nas Lamentações.
most of all Jeremiah. All the singing men and women repeat his lamentations over Josiah, even to the present day. And this has become like a law in Israel. Behold, it is found written in the Lamentations.
26 Os demais dos feitos de Josias, e suas piedosas obras, conforme o que está escrito na lei do SENHOR,
Now the rest of the words of Josiah, and his mercies, which were instructed by the law of the Lord,
27 E seus feitos, primeiros e últimos, eis que estão escritos no livro dos reis de Israel e de Judá.
and also his works, the first and the last, have been written in the book of the kings of Judah and Israel.
