1 Timóteo 4
1 Mas o Espírito diz expressamente que nos últimos tempos alguns se afastarão da fé, dando atenção a espíritos enganadores, e a doutrinas de demônios,
But the Spirit speaks expressly, that in latter times some shall apostatise from the faith, giving their mind to deceiving spirits and teachings of demons
2 por meio da hipocrisia de mentirosos, que têm a sua própria consciência cauterizada.
speaking lies in hypocrisy, cauterised as to their own conscience,
3 Eles proibirão o casamento, e [mandarão] se abster dos alimentos que Deus criou para que sejam usados com gratidão pelos fiéis e pelos que conheceram a verdade.
forbidding to marry, [bidding] to abstain from meats, which God has created for receiving with thanksgiving for them who are faithful and know the truth.
4 Pois toda criatura de Deus é boa, e não há nada a rejeitar, se for recebida com gratidão.
For every creature of God [is] good, and nothing [is] to be rejected, being received with thanksgiving;
5 Porque ela é santificada pela palavra de Deus e [pela] oração.
for it is sanctified by God's word and freely addressing [him].
6 Se informares essas coisas aos irmãos, serás um bom servidor de Cristo Jesus, alimentado com as palavras da fé e de boa doutrina que tens seguido.
Laying these things before the brethren, thou wilt be a good minister of Christ Jesus, nourished with the words of the faith and of the good teaching which thou hast fully followed up.
7 Mas rejeita os mitos profanos e de velhas, e exercita-te na devoção divina.
But profane and old wives' fables avoid, but exercise thyself unto piety;
8 Pois o exercício do corpo tem pouco proveito; mas a devoção divina é proveitosa para tudo, pois tem as promessas da vida atual e da futura.
for bodily exercise is profitable for a little, but piety is profitable for everything, having promise of life, of the present one, and of that to come.
9 [Esta] palavra é fiel, e digna de toda aceitação.
The word [is] faithful and worthy of all acceptation;
10 Pois para isto trabalhamos e lutamos, porque esperamos o Deus vivo, que é o Salvador de todos, especialmente dos crentes.
for, for this we labour and suffer reproach, because we hope in a living God, who is preserver of all men, specially of those that believe.
11 Manda essas coisas, e ensina.
Enjoin and teach these things.
12 Ninguém despreze a tua juventude, mas sê exemplo aos crentes, na palavra, no comportamento, no amor, na fé, e na pureza.
Let no one despise thy youth, but be a model of the believers, in word, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity.
13 Persiste na leitura, na exortação e no ensino, até que eu venha.
Till I come, give thyself to reading, to exhortation, to teaching.
14 Não desprezes o dom que está em ti, que te foi dado por profecia, com a imposição das mãos dos presbíteros.
Be not negligent of the gift [that is] in thee, which has been given to thee through prophecy, with imposition of the hands of the elderhood.
15 Medita nessas coisas, e nelas te ocupe, para que o teu progresso seja visível por todos.
Occupy thyself with these things; be wholly in them, that thy progress may be manifest to all.
16 Tem cuidado de ti mesmo e da doutrina; persevera nessas coisas; porque, se fizeres isso, salvarás tanto a ti mesmo como aos que te ouvem.
Give heed to thyself and to the teaching; continue in them; for, doing this, thou shalt save both thyself and those that hear thee.
