1 Timóteo 2
1 Por isso eu te exorto, antes de tudo, que se façam pedidos, orações, intercessões [e] atos de gratidão por todas as pessoas;
I Exhort therefore, that first of all supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giuing of thanks be made for all men,
2 pelos reis, e por todos os que estão em posição superior, para que tenhamos uma vida quieta e sossegada, em toda devoção divina e honestidade.
For Kings, and for all that are in authoritie, that we may leade a quiet and a peaceable life, in all godlinesse and honestie.
3 Isso é bom e agradável diante de Deus nosso Salvador;
For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Sauiour,
4 que quer que todas as pessoas se salvem e venham ao conhecimento da verdade.
Who will that all men shalbe saued, and come vnto the acknowledging of the trueth.
5 Pois [há] um só Deus, e um só Mediador entre Deus e os seres humanos: o humano Cristo Jesus.
For there is one God, and one Mediatour betweene God and man, which is the man Christ Iesus,
6 Ele mesmo se deu como resgate por todos, [como] testemunho ao seu tempo.
Who gaue himselfe a ransome for all men, to be that testimonie in due time,
7 Para isso fui constituído pregador e apóstolo, instrutor dos gentios na fé e na verdade (estou dizendo a verdade, não mentindo).
Whereunto I am ordeined a preacher and an Apostle (I speake the trueth in Christ, and lie not) euen a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and veritie.
8 Portanto, quero que os homens orem em todo lugar, levantando mãos santas, sem ira nem briga.
I will therefore that the men pray, euery where lifting vp pure hands without wrath, or douting.
9 De semelhante maneira, as mulheres se adornem com roupa respeitosa, com pudor e sobriedade, não com tranças, ouro, pérolas, ou roupas caras;
Likewise also the women, that they aray themselues in comely apparell, with shamefastnes and modestie, not with broyded heare, or gold, or pearles, or costly apparell,
10 mas sim, com boas obras, como é adequado às mulheres que declaram reverência a Deus.
But (as becommeth women that professe the feare of God) with good workes.
11 A mulher aprenda quietamente, com toda submissão.
Let the woman learne in silence with all subiection.
12 Porém não permito que a mulher ensine, nem use de autoridade sobre o marido, mas sim, que esteja em silêncio.
I permit not a woman to teache, neither to vsurpe authoritie ouer the man, but to be in silence.
13 Pois primeiro foi formado Adão, depois Eva.
For Adam was first formed, then Eue.
14 E Adão não foi enganado; mas a mulher foi enganada, e caiu em transgressão.
And Adam was not deceiued, but the woman was deceiued, and was in the transgression.
15 Porém ela se salvará tendo parto, se permanecerem na fé, amor, e santificação com sobriedade.
Notwithstanding, through bearing of children she shalbe saued if they continue in faith, and loue, and holines with modestie.
