1 Timóteo 1
1 Paulo, apóstolo de Cristo Jesus segundo o mandado de Deus, nosso Salvador, e do Senhor Jesus Cristo, nossa esperança.
Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus according to the commandment of God our Saviour, and Christ Jesus our hope;
2 Para Timóteo, [meu] verdadeiro filho na fé. Graça, misericórdia [e] paz da parte de Deus Pai, e de Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor.
unto Timothy, my true child in faith: Grace, mercy, peace, from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
3 Assim como te roguei quando eu estava indo à Macedônia, fica em Éfeso, para advertires a alguns que não ensinem outra doutrina,
As I exhorted thee to tarry at Ephesus, when I was going into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge certain men not to teach a different doctrine,
4 Nem prestem atenção a mitos nem a genealogias intermináveis, que mais produzem discussões que a administração da parte de Deus na fé.
neither to give heed to fables and endless genealogies, which minister questionings, rather than a dispensation of God which is in faith; [so do I now].
5 O fim do mandamento é o amor que vem de um coração puro, e de uma boa consciência, e de uma fé não fingida.
But the end of the charge is love out of a pure heart and a good conscience and faith unfeigned:
6 Alguns se desviaram dessas coisas, e se entregaram a discursos inúteis;
from which things some having swerved have turned aside unto vain talking;
7 querendo ser mestres da Lei, mas não entendendo, nem o que dizem, nem o que afirmam.
desiring to be teachers of the law, though they understand neither what they say, nor whereof they confidently affirm.
8 Nós, porém, sabemos que a Lei é boa, se alguém usa dela legitimamente;
But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully,
9 pois sabemos isto: que a Lei não foi feita para o justo, mas sim, para os injustos e insubordinados, para os ímpios e pecadores, para os irreligiosos e profanos, para os matadores dos pais e das mães, para os homicidas,
as knowing this, that law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and unruly, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
10 para os que cometem pecados sexuais, para os homens que efetuam sexualidade com homens, para os que roubam a liberdade das pessoas, para os mentirosos, para os que juram falsamente, e qualquer outra coisa contrária à sã doutrina,
for fornicators, for abusers of themselves with men, for menstealers, for liars, for false swearers, and if there be any other thing contrary to the sound doctrine;
11 conforme o evangelho da glória do Deus bendito, que foi confiado a mim.
according to the gospel of the glory of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
12 Agradeço àquele que tem me fortalecido, Cristo Jesus, nosso Senhor, porque me considerou fiel, pondo-me no serviço.
I thank him that enabled me, [even] Christ Jesus our Lord, for that he counted me faithful, appointing me to [his] service;
13 Antes eu era um blasfemo, perseguidor, e opressor; porém recebi misericórdia, pois foi por ignorância que eu agia com incredulidade.
though I was before a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: howbeit I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief;
14 Mas a graça do nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo foi mais abundante, com a fé e amor que há em Cristo Jesus.
and the grace of our Lord abounded exceedingly with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.
15 Esta é uma palavra fiel e digna de toda aceitação: que Cristo Jesus veio ao mundo para salvar os pecadores, dos quais eu sou o principal.
Faithful is the saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief:
16 Mas por isso me foi concedida misericórdia, para que em mim, o principal, Jesus Cristo mostrasse toda a sua paciência como exemplo aos que haviam de crer nele para a vida eterna. (aiōnios g166)
howbeit for this cause I obtained mercy, that in me as chief might Jesus Christ show forth all his longsuffering, for an ensample of them that should thereafter believe on him unto eternal life. (aiōnios g166)
17 Ao Rei dos tempos, imortal, invisível, o único Deus, [seja] a honra, e a glória, para todo o sempre, amém! (aiōn g165)
Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, [be] honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen. (aiōn g165)
18 Este mandamento, filho Timóteo, te dou: que, conforme as profecias antes feitas acerca de ti, que batalhes por elas a boa batalha;
This charge I commit unto thee, my child Timothy, according to the prophecies which led the way to thee, that by them thou mayest war the good warfare;
19 mantendo a fé e a boa consciência, que alguns rejeitaram, e naufragaram na fé.
holding faith and a good conscience; which some having thrust from them made shipwreck concerning the faith:
20 Dentre esses foram Himeneu e Alexandre. Eu os entreguei a Satanás, para aprenderem a não blasfemar.
of whom is Hymenæus and Alexander; whom I delivered unto Satan, that they might be taught not to blaspheme.
