1 Samuel 2
1 E Ana orou e disse: Meu coração se regozija no SENHOR, Meu poder é exaltado no SENHOR; Minha boca fala triunfante sobre meus inimigos, Porquanto me alegrei em tua salvação.
And Hannah prayed, and said, Mine heart reioyceth in the Lord, mine horne is exalted in the Lord: my mouth is enlarged ouer mine enemies, because I reioyce in thy saluation.
2 Não há santo como o SENHOR: Porque não há ninguém além de ti; E não há refúgio como o nosso Deus.
There is none holy as the Lord: yea, there is none besides thee, and there is no god like our God.
3 Não faleis tantas coisas soberbas; Cessem as palavras arrogantes de vossa boca; Porque o Deus de todo conhecimento é o SENHOR, E a ele cabe pesar as ações.
Speake no more presumptuously: let not arrogancie come out of your mouth: for the Lord is a God of knowledge, and by him enterprises are established.
4 Os arcos dos fortes foram quebrados, E os fracos se cingiram de força.
The bow and the mightie men are broken, and the weake haue girded themselues with strength.
5 Os fartos se alugaram por pão: E cessaram os famintos; até a estéril deu à luz sete, e a que tinha muitos filhos se enfraqueceu.
They that were full, are hired foorth for bread, and the hungrie are no more hired, so that the barren hath borne seuen: and shee that had many children, is feeble.
The Lord killeth and maketh aliue: bringeth downe to the graue and raiseth vp. (Sheol h7585)
7 O SENHOR empobrece e enriquece; abate e exalta.
The Lord maketh poore and maketh rich: bringeth lowe, and exalteth.
8 Ele levanta do pó ao pobre, e ao necessitado ergue do esterco, para assentá-lo com os príncipes; e faz que tenham por propriedade assento de honra; porque do SENHOR são os alicerces da terra, e assentou o mundo sobre eles.
He raiseth vp ye poore out of the dust, and lifteth vp the begger from the dunghill, to set them among princes, and to make them inherite the seate of glory: for the pillars of the earth are the Lordes, and he hath set the world vpon them.
9 Ele guarda os pés de seus santos, Mas os ímpios perecem em trevas; Porque ninguém será forte por sua força.
Hee will keepe the feete of his Saintes, and the wicked shall keepe silence in darkenes: for in his owne might shall no man be strong.
10 Diante do SENHOR serão quebrantados seus adversários, E sobre eles trovejará desde os céus: o SENHOR julgará os termos da terra, E dará força a seu Rei, E exaltará o poder de seu ungido.
The Lordes aduersaries shall be destroyed, and out of heauen shall he thunder vpon them: the Lord shall iudge the endes of the worlde, and shall giue power vnto his King, and exalt the horne of his Anoynted.
11 E Elcana se voltou a sua casa em Ramá; e o menino ministrava ao SENHOR diante do sacerdote Eli.
And Elkanah went to Ramah to his house, and the childe did minister vnto the Lord before Eli the Priest.
12 Mas os filhos de Eli eram homens ímpios, e não tinham conhecimento do SENHOR.
Now the sonnes of Eli were wicked men, and knewe not the Lord.
13 E o costume dos sacerdotes com o povo era que, quando alguém oferecia sacrifício, vinha o criado do sacerdote enquanto a carne estava a cozer, trazendo em sua mão um garfo de três ganchos;
For the Priestes custome towarde the people was this: when any man offered sacrifice, the Priestes boy came, while the flesh was seething, and a fleshhooke with three teeth, in his hand,
14 E enfiava com ele na caldeira, ou na caçarola, ou no caldeirão, ou no pote; e tudo o que tirava o garfo, o sacerdote o tomava para si. Desta maneira faziam a todo israelita que vinha a Siló.
And thrust it into the kettle, or into the caldron, or into the panne, or into the potte: all that the fleshhooke brought vp, the Priest tooke for himselfe: thus they did vnto all the Israelites, that came thither to Shiloh.
15 Também, antes de queimar a gordura, vinha o criado do sacerdote, e dizia ao que sacrificava: Da carne que asse para o sacerdote; porque não tomará de ti carne cozida, mas sim crua.
Yea, before they burnt the fat, the priests boy came and saide to the man that offered, Giue me flesh to rost for the priest: for he wil not haue sodden flesh of thee, but rawe.
16 E se lhe respondia o homem, Queimem logo a gordura hoje, e depois toma tanta quanto quiseres; ele respondia: Não, mas sim agora a darás: de outra maneira eu a tomarei por força.
And if any man saide vnto him, Let them burne the fatte according to the custome, then take as much as thine heart desireth: then hee would answere, No, but thou shalt giue it nowe: and if thou wilt not, I will take it by force.
17 Era, pois, o pecado dos moços muito grande diante do SENHOR; porque os homens menosprezavam os sacrifícios do SENHOR.
Therefore the sinne of the yong men was very great before the Lord: for men abhorred the offering of the Lord.
18 E o jovem Samuel ministrava diante do SENHOR, vestido de um éfode de linho.
Now Samuel being a yong childe ministred before the Lord, girded with a linen Ephod.
19 E fazia-lhe sua mãe uma túnica pequena, e a trazia a ele a cada ano, quando subia com seu marido a oferecer o sacrifício costumeiro.
And his mother made him a litle coat, and brought it to him from yeere to yeere, when she came vp with her husband, to offer the yerely sacrifice.
20 E Eli abençoou Elcana e a sua mulher, dizendo: “O SENHOR te dê descendência desta mulher por causa dessa petição que ela fez ao SENHOR.” E voltaram para sua casa.
And Eli blessed Elkanah and his wife, and said, The Lord giue thee seede of this woman, for the petition that she asked of the Lord: and they departed vnto their place.
21 E o SENHOR visitou a Ana, e ela concebeu, e deu à luz três filhos e duas filhas. E o jovem Samuel crescia diante do SENHOR.
And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceiued, and bare three sonnes, and two daughters. And the childe Samuel grewe before the Lord.
22 Eli, porém, era muito velho, e ouviu tudo o que seus filhos faziam a todo Israel, e como se deitavam com as mulheres que serviam à porta do tabernáculo do testemunho.
So Eli was very olde, and heard all that his sonnes did vnto all Israel, and howe they laye with the women that assembled at the doore of the tabernacle of the Congregation.
23 E disse-lhes: “Por que fazeis essas coisas? Pois eu ouço de todo este povo os vossos maus atos.
And hee saide vnto them, Why doe ye such things? for of all this people I heare euill reportes of you.
24 Não, meus filhos; pois não é boa a fama que eu ouço, que fazeis pecar ao povo do SENHOR.
Do no more, my sonnes, for it is no good report that I heare, which is, that ye make the Lords people to trespasse.
25 Se o homem pecar contra o homem, os juízes o julgarão; mas, se alguém pecar contra o SENHOR, quem rogará por ele?” Porém eles não ouviram a voz de seu pai, porque o SENHOR queria matá-los.
If one man sinne against another, the Iudge shall iudge it: but if a man sinne against the Lord, who will pleade for him? Notwithstanding they obeyed not the voyce of their father, because the Lord would slay them.
26 E o jovem Samuel ia crescendo e sendo bem estimando diante de Deus e diante das pessoas.
(Nowe the childe Samuel profited and grewe, and was in fauour both with the Lord and also with men)
27 E veio um homem de Deus a Eli, e disse-lhe: “Assim diz o SENHOR: ‘Acaso não me manifestei à casa do teu pai, quando estavam no Egito, na casa de Faraó?
And there came a man of God vnto Eli, and said vnto him, Thus saith the Lord, Did not I plainely appeare vnto the house of thy father, when they were in Egypt in Pharaohs house?
28 E eu o escolhi para ser o meu sacerdote dentre todas as tribos de Israel, para que oferecesse sobre o meu altar, e queimasse incenso, e para que vestisse o éfode diante de mim; e dei à casa do teu pai todas as ofertas dos filhos de Israel.
And I chose him out of all the tribes of Israel to be my Priest, to offer vpon mine altar, and to burne incense, and to weare an Ephod before me, and I gaue vnto the house of thy father all the offrings made by fire of the children of Israel.
29 Por que pisaste os meus sacrifícios e as minhas ofertas, que eu mandei oferecer no tabernáculo? E por que honraste aos teus filhos mais que a mim, para vos engordardes do principal de todas as ofertas do meu povo Israel?’
Wherefore haue you kicked against my sacrifice and mine offering, which I commanded in my Tabernacle, and honourest thy children aboue mee, to make your selues fatte of the first fruites of all the offerings of Israel my people?
30 Por isso, o SENHOR, o Deus de Israel, diz: ‘Eu havia dito que a tua casa e a casa de teu pai andariam diante de mim perpetuamente;’ mas agora diz o SENHOR: ‘Longe de mim tal coisa, porque eu honrarei aos que me honram, e os que me desprezam serão rejeitados.
Wherefore the Lord God of Israel saith, I saide, that thine house and the house of thy father should walke before mee for euer: but nowe the Lord saith, It shall not be so: for them that honour me, I will honour, and they that despise me, shall be despised.
31 Eis que vêm dias em que cortarei o teu braço, e o braço da casa de teu pai, para que não haja idoso em tua casa.
Beholde, the dayes come, that I will cut off thine arme, and the arme of thy fathers house, that there shall not be an olde man in thine house.
32 E verás competidor no tabernáculo, em todas as coisas em que fizer bem a Israel; e em nenhum tempo haverá idoso em tua casa.
And thou shalt see thine enemie in the habitation of the Lord in all thinges wherewith God shall blesse Israel, and there shall not be an olde man in thine house for euer.
33 E não te cortarei de todo homem de meu altar, para fazer-te consumir os teus olhos, e encher teu ânimo de dor; mas toda a descendência de tua casa morrerá no princípio da fase adulta.
Neuerthelesse, I will not destroy euery one of thine from mine altar, to make thine eyes to faile, and to make thine heart sorowfull: and all ye multitude of thine house shall die when they be men.
34 E te será por sinal isto que acontecerá a teus dois filhos, Hofni e Fineias: ambos morrerão em um dia.
And this shalbe a signe vnto thee, that shall come vpon thy two sonnes Hophni and Phinehas: in one day they shall die both.
35 E eu suscitarei para mim um sacerdote fiel, que faça conforme o meu coração e a minha alma; e eu lhe edificarei casa firme, e andará diante de meu ungido todos os dias.
And I will stirre me vp a faithfull Priest, that shall do according to mine heart and according to my minde: and I wil build him a sure house, and he shall walke before mine Anointed for euer.
36 E será que o que houver restado em tua casa, virá a prostrar-se-lhe por um dinheiro de prata e um bocado de pão, dizendo-lhe: Rogo-te que me constituas em algum ministério, para que coma um bocado de pão.
And all that are left in thine house, shall come and bowe downe to him for a piece of siluer and a morsell of bread, and shall say, Appoint me, I pray thee, to one of the priestes offices, that I may eate a morsell of bread.
