1 Coríntios 14
1 Segui o amor, e desejai com zelo pelos [dons] espirituais; porém principalmente que profetizeis.
Follow after love, and be emulous of spiritual [manifestations], but rather that ye may prophesy.
2 Porque o que fala língua [estranha], não fala aos seres humanos, mas sim a Deus; porque ninguém [o] entende, mas em espírito fala mistérios.
For he that speaks with a tongue does not speak to men but to God: for no one hears; but in spirit he speaks mysteries.
3 Mas o que profetiza, fala aos seres humanos [para] edificação, convencimento, e consolação.
But he that prophesies speaks to men [in] edification, and encouragement, and consolation.
4 O que fala língua [estranha] edifica a si mesmo; mas o que profetiza edifica à igreja.
He that speaks with a tongue edifies himself; but he that prophesies edifies [the] assembly.
5 E eu quero que todos vós faleis línguas, porém mais [ainda] que profetizeis; porque o que profetiza é maior que o que fala línguas, a não ser que [também] interprete, para que a igreja receba edificação.
Now I desire that ye should all speak with tongues, but rather that ye should prophesy. But greater is he that prophesies than he that speaks with tongues, unless he interpret, that the assembly may receive edification.
6 E agora irmãos, se eu viesse até vos falando línguas, o que vos aproveitaria, se não vos falasse ou por revelação, ou por conhecimento, ou por profecia, ou por doutrina?
And now, brethren, if I come to you speaking with tongues, what shall I profit you, unless I shall speak to you either in revelation, or in knowledge, or in prophecy, or in teaching?
7 E até as coisas inanimadas, que produzem som, seja flauta, seja harpa, se não derem distinção de sons, como saberá o que se toca com a flauta, ou com a harpa?
Even lifeless things giving a sound, whether pipe or harp, if they give not distinction to the sounds, how shall it be known what is piped or harped?
8 Porque também se a trombeta der som incerto, quem se preparará para a guerra?
For also, if the trumpet give an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for war?
9 Assim [mesmo] também vós, se com a língua não derdes palavra compreensível, como se entenderá o que se diz? Porque estareis falando para o ar.
Thus also ye with the tongue, unless ye give a distinct speech, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye will be speaking to the air.
10 Por exemplo, há tantos tipos de vozes no mundo, e nenhuma delas é muda.
There are, it may be, so many kinds of voices in the world, and none of undistinguishable sound.
11 Portanto, se eu não souber o propósito da voz, serei estrangeiro para o que fala, e o que fala será estrangeiro para mim.
If therefore I do not know the power of the sound, I shall be to him that speaks a barbarian, and he that speaks a barbarian for me.
12 Assim também vós, dado que desejais os dons espirituais, procurai [neles] abundar, para edificação da igreja.
Thus ye also, since ye are desirous of spirits, seek that ye may abound for the edification of the assembly.
13 Portanto, o que fala em língua [estranha], ore para que possa interpretar.
Wherefore let him that speaks with a tongue pray that he may interpret.
14 Porque se eu orar em língua [estranha], meu espírito ora, mas meu entendimento fica sem fruto.
For if I pray with a tongue, my spirit prays, but my understanding is unfruitful.
15 Então é o que? Orarei com o espírito, mas também orarei com o entendimento; cantarei com o espírito, mas também cantarei com o entendimento.
What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, but I will pray also with the understanding; I will sing with the spirit, but I will sing also with the understanding.
16 De outra maneira, se tu bendisseres com o espírito, como aquele que não tem conhecimento dirá amém por teu bendizer? Pois ele não sabe o que tu dizes.
Since otherwise, if thou blessest with [the] spirit, how shall he who fills the place of the simple [Christian] say Amen, at thy giving of thanks, since he does not know what thou sayest?
17 Porque em verdade tu bem dás graças; mas o outro não é edificado.
For thou indeed givest thanks well, but the other is not edified.
18 Graças dou a meu Deus, que mais línguas falo que todos vós.
I thank God I speak in a tongue more than all of you:
19 Porém eu quero [mais] falar na igreja cinco palavras com meu entendimento, para que eu também possa instruir aos outros, do que dez mil palavras em língua [estranha].
but in [the] assembly I desire to speak five words with my understanding, that I may instruct others also, [rather] than ten thousand words in a tongue.
20 Irmãos, não sejais meninos no entendimento, mas sede meninos na malícia, e adultos no entendimento.
Brethren, be not children in [your] minds, but in malice be babes; but in [your] minds be grown [men].
21 Na Lei está escrito: A este povo falarei por gente de outras línguas, e por outros lábios; e ainda assim não me ouvirão, diz o Senhor.
It is written in the law, By people of other tongues, and by strange lips, will I speak to this people; and neither thus will they hear me, saith the Lord.
22 Então as línguas [estranhas] são por sinal, não para os que creem, mas para os que não creem; e a profecia não é para os que não creem, mas para os que creem.
So that tongues are for a sign, not to those who believe, but to unbelievers; but prophecy, not to unbelievers, but to those who believe.
23 Pois se toda a igreja se reunir, e todos falarem línguas [estranhas], e entrarem alguns sem entendimento ou descrentes, não dirão que estais loucos?
If therefore the whole assembly come together in one place, and all speak with tongues, and simple [persons] enter in, or unbelievers, will not they say ye are mad?
24 Mas se todos profetizarem, e algum sem entendimento ou descrente entrar, por todos é convencido, [e] por todos é julgado.
But if all prophesy, and some unbeliever or simple [person] come in, he is convicted of all, he is judged of all;
25 E assim os segredos de seu coração ficam manifestos, e assim, lançando-se sobre [seu] rosto, adorará a Deus, reconhecendo publicamente que Deus está entre vós.
the secrets of his heart are manifested; and thus, falling upon [his] face, he will do homage to God, reporting that God is indeed amongst you.
26 Então o que há, irmãos? Quando vos reunis, tem cada um de vós salmo, tem doutrina, tem língua [estranha], tem revelação, tem interpretação, tudo se faça para edificação.
What is it then, brethren? whenever ye come together, each [of you] has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done to edification.
27 E se alguém falar em língua [estranha], [sejam] dois, ou no máximo três, e alternando-se, e um que interprete.
If any one speak with a tongue, [let it be] two, or at the most three, and separately, and let one interpret;
28 Mas se não houver intérprete, cale-se na igreja, fale porém consigo mesmo, e com Deus.
but if there be no interpreter, let him be silent in [the] assembly, and let him speak to himself and to God.
29 E falem dois ou três profetas, e os outros julguem.
And let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.
30 Mas se a outro, que estiver sentada, for revelada [alguma coisa], cale-se o primeiro.
But if there be a revelation to another sitting [there], let the first be silent.
31 Porque todos vós podeis profetizar, um após o outro, para que todos aprendam, e sejam todos fortalecidos.
For ye can all prophesy one by one, that all may learn and all be encouraged.
32 E os espíritos dos profetas estão sujeitos aos profetas.
And spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.
33 Porque Deus não é de confusão, mas de paz, como em todas as igrejas dos santos.
For God is not [a God] of disorder but of peace, as in all the assemblies of the saints.
34 Vossas mulheres fiquem caladas nas igrejas; porque não lhes é permitido falar, mas [que] estejam sujeitas, como também a Lei o diz.
Let [your] women be silent in the assemblies, for it is not permitted to them to speak; but to be in subjection, as the law also says.
35 E se quiserem aprender alguma coisa, perguntem a seus próprios maridos em casa; porque é impróprio as mulheres falarem na igreja.
But if they wish to learn anything, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is a shame for a woman to speak in assembly.
36 Por acaso a palavra de Deus saiu de vós? Ou ela somente chegou a vós?
Did the word of God go out from you, or did it come to you only?
37 Se alguém pensa ser profeta, ou espiritual, reconheça que as coisas que escrevo são mandamento do Senhor.
If any one thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him recognise the things that I write to you, that it is [the] Lord's commandment.
38 Porém se alguém ignora, que ignore.
But if any be ignorant, let him be ignorant.
39 Portanto, irmãos, desejai com zelo profetizar, e não impeçais o falar línguas [estranhas].
So that, brethren, desire to prophesy, and do not forbid the speaking with tongues.
40 Fazei tudo decentemente e com ordem.
But let all things be done comelily and with order.
