Romanos 3
1 Qual é logo a vantagem do judeu? Ou qual a utilidade da circuncisão?
What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit [is there] of circumcision?
2 Muita, em toda a maneira, porque, quanto ao primeiro, as palavras de Deus lhe foram confiadas,
Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
3 Pois que? Se alguns foram incrédulos, a sua incredulidade aniquilará a fé de Deus?
For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
4 De maneira nenhuma; antes seja Deus verdadeiro, e todo o homem mentiroso; como está escrito: Para que sejas justificado em tuas palavras, e venças quando fores julgado.
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
5 E, se a nossa injustiça recomendar a justiça de Deus, que diremos? Porventura será Deus injusto, trazendo ira sobre nós? ( falo como homem)
But if our unrighteousness commend the righteousness of God, what shall we say? [Is] God unrighteous who taketh vengeance? (I speak as a man)
6 De maneira nenhuma: de outro modo, como julgará Deus o mundo?
God forbid: for then how shall God judge the world?
7 Porque, se pela minha mentira abundou mais a verdade de Deus para glória sua, porque sou ainda julgado também como pecador?
For if the truth of God hath more abounded through my lie unto his glory; why yet am I also judged as a sinner?
8 E não dizemos (como somos blasfemados, e como alguns dizem que dizemos): Façamos males, para que venham bens: cuja condenação é justa.
And not [rather], (as we be slanderously reported, and as some affirm that we say, ) Let us do evil, that good may come? whose damnation is just.
9 Pois que? Somos nós mais excelentes? de maneira nenhuma, pois já de antes demonstramos que, tanto judeus como gregos, todos estão debaixo do pecado;
What then? are we better [than they]? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin;
10 Como está escrito: Não há justo, nem ainda um:
As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:
11 Não há ninguém que entenda; não há ninguém que busque a Deus:
There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.
12 Todos se extraviaram, e juntamente se fizeram inúteis. Não há quem faça o bem, não há nem um só
They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.
13 A sua garganta é um sepulcro aberto: com as suas línguas tratam enganosamente: peçonha de áspides está debaixo de seus lábios:
Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips:
14 Cuja boca está cheia de maldição e amargura:
Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness:
15 Os seus pés são ligeiros para derramar sangue:
Their feet [are] swift to shed blood:
16 Em seus caminhos há destruição e miséria:
Destruction and misery [are] in their ways:
17 E não conheceram o caminho da paz:
And the way of peace have they not known:
18 Não há temor de Deus diante de seus olhos.
There is no fear of God before their eyes.
19 Ora, nós sabemos que tudo o que a lei diz aos que estão debaixo da lei o diz, para que toda a boca se feche e todo o mundo seja condenável diante de Deus.
Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Por isso nenhuma carne será justificada diante dele pelas obras da lei, porque pela lei vem o conhecimento do pecado.
Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law [is] the knowledge of sin.
21 Mas agora se manifestou sem a lei a justiça de Deus, tendo o testemunho da lei e dos profetas;
But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
22 Isto é, a justiça de Deus pela fé de Jesus Cristo para todos e sobre todos os que crêem; porque não há diferença,
Even the righteousness of God [which is] by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:
23 Porque todos pecaram e destituídos estão da glória de Deus;
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
24 Sendo justificados gratuitamente pela sua graça, pela redenção que há em Cristo Jesus:
Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
25 Ao qual Deus propôs para propiciação pela fé no seu sangue, para demonstração da sua justiça, pela remissão dos pecados de antes cometidos, sob a paciência de Deus;
Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
26 Para demonstração da sua justiça neste tempo presente, para que ele seja justo e justificador daquele que tem fé em Jesus.
To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
27 Onde está logo a jactância? É excluída. Por qual lei? Das obras? Não; mas pela lei da fé
Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.
28 Concluímos pois que o homem é justificado pela fé sem as obras da lei.
Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
29 Deus é porventura somente dos judeus? E não o é também dos gentios? também dos gentios, certamente.
[Is he] the God of the Jews only? [is he] not also of the Gentiles? Yes, of the Gentiles also:
30 Porque há um só Deus que justificará pela fé a circuncisão, e pela fé a incircuncisão.
Seeing [it is] one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith.
31 Anulamos, pois, a lei pela fé? De maneira nenhuma, antes estabelecemos a lei.
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.
