Apocalipse 18
1 E depois destas coisas vi descer do céu outro anjo, que tinha grande poder, e a terra foi iluminada da sua glória.
And after these things I saw another messenger coming down out of Heaven, having great authority, and the earth was lightened from his glory,
2 E clamou fortemente com grande voz, dizendo: É caída, é caída a grande Babilônia, e é feita morada de demônios, e coito de todo o espírito imundo, e coito de toda a ave imunda e aborrecível.
and he cried in might [with] a great voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! And she became a habitation of demons, and a hold of every unclean spirit, and a hold of every unclean and hateful bird,
3 Porque todas as nações beberam do vinho da ira da sua fornicação, e os reis da terra fornicaram com ela; e os mercadores da terra se enriqueceram da abundância de suas delícias.
because all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her whoredom, and the kings of the earth committed whoredom with her, and merchants of the earth were made rich from the power of her indulgence.”
4 E ouvi outra voz do céu, que dizia: sai dela, povo meu, para que não sejas participante dos seus pecados, e para que não recebas das suas pragas.
And I heard another voice out of Heaven, saying, “Come forth out of her, My people, that you may not partake with her sins, and that you may not receive of her plagues,
5 Porque já os seus pecados se acumularam até ao céu, e Deus se lembrou das iniquidades dela.
because her sins have reached up to Heaven, and God remembered her unrighteousness.
6 Tornai-lhe como ela vos tem dado, e duplicai-lhe em dobro conforme as suas obras: no cálice em que vos deu de beber dai-lhe a ela em dobro.
Render to her as she also rendered to you, and double to her twofold according to her works; in the cup that she mingled mingle to her double.
7 Quanto ela se glorificou, e em delícias esteve, tanto lhe dai de tormento e pranto; porque diz em seu coração: Estou assentada como rainha, e não sou viúva, e não verei o pranto.
As much as she glorified herself and indulged, so much torment and sorrow give to her, because in her heart she says, I sit [as] queen, and I am not a widow, and I will not see sorrow;
8 Portanto num dia virão as suas pragas; a morte, e o pranto, e a fome; e será queimada com fogo; porque é forte o Senhor Deus que a julga.
because of this, in one day, will come her plagues: death, and sorrow, and famine; and she will be utterly burned in fire, because strong [is] the LORD God who is judging her;
9 E os reis da terra, que fornicaram com ela, e viveram em delícias, a chorarão, e sobre ela prantearão, quando virem o fumo do seu incêndio;
and the kings of the earth will weep over her and strike themselves for her, who committed whoredom and indulged with her, when they may see the smoke of her burning,
10 Estando de longe pelo temor do seu tormento, dizendo: Ai! ai daquela grande Babilônia, aquela forte cidade! pois numa hora veio o teu juízo.
having stood from afar because of the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city! Babylon, the strong city! Because in one hour your judgment came.
11 E sobre ela choram e lamentam os mercadores da terra; porque ninguém mais compra as suas mercadorias:
And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargo anymore;
12 Mercadorias de ouro, e de prata, e de pedras preciosas, e de pérolas, e de linho fino, e de púrpura, e de seda, e de escarlata; e toda a madeira odorífera, e todo o vaso de marfim, e todo o vaso de madeira preciosíssima, de bronze e de ferro, e de mármore;
cargo of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all fragrant wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel of most precious wood, and brass, and iron, and marble,
13 E canela, e especiaria, e perfume, e unguênto odorífero, e incenso, e vinho, e azeite, e flor de farinha, e trigo, e cavalgaduras, e ovelhas; e mercadorias de cavalos, e de carros, e de corpos e de almas de homens.
and cinnamon, and amomum, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep, and of horses, and of chariots, and of bodies and souls of men.
14 E o fruto do desejo da tua alma foi-se de ti; e todas as coisas gostosas e excelentes se foram de ti, e não mais as acharás.
And the fruits of the desire of your soul went away from you, and all things—the sumptuous and the radiant—went away from you, and no more at all may you find them.
15 Os mercadores destas coisas, que por elas se enriqueceram, estarão de longe, pelo temor do seu tormento, chorando, e lamentando,
The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, will stand far off because of the fear of her torment, weeping, and mourning,
16 E dizendo: Ai, ai daquela grande cidade! que estava vestida de linho fino, e púrpura, e escarlata; e adornada com ouro e pedras preciosas e pérolas! Porque numa hora foram assoladas tantas riquezas.
and saying, Woe, woe, the great city, that was clothed with fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and gilded in gold, and precious stone, and pearls—
17 E todo o piloto, e todo o que navega em naus, e todo o marinheiro, e todos os que traficam por mar se puseram de longe:
because in one hour so much riches were made desolate! And every shipmaster, and all the company on the ships, and sailors, and as many as work the sea, stood far off,
18 E, vendo o fumo do seu incêndio, clamaram, dizendo: Que cidade é semelhante a esta grande cidade?
and were crying, seeing the smoke of her burning, saying, What [city is] like to the great city?
19 E lançaram pó sobre as suas cabeças, e clamaram, chorando, e lamentando, e dizendo: Ai, ai daquela grande cidade! na qual todos os que tinham naus no mar se enriqueceram da sua opulência; porque numa hora foi assolada.
And they cast dust on their heads, and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, woe, the great city! In which were made rich all having ships in the sea, out of her costliness—for in one hour was she made desolate.
20 Alegra-te sobre ela, ó céu, e vós, santos apóstolos e profetas; porque já Deus julgou a vossa causa quanto a ela.
Be glad over her, O Heaven, and you holy apostles and prophets, because God judged your judgment of her!”
21 E um forte anjo levantou uma pedra como uma grande mó, e lançou-a no mar, dizendo: Com igual ímpeto será lançada Babilônia, aquela grande cidade, e não será jamais achada
And one strong messenger took up a stone as a great millstone, and cast [it] into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence will Babylon be cast, the great city, and may not be found anymore at all;
22 E em ti não se ouvirá mais a voz de harpistas, e de músicos, e de flauteiros, e de trombeteiros, e nenhum artífice de arte alguma se achará mais em ti; e ruído de mó em ti mais se não ouvirá:
and voice of harpists, and musicians, and pipers, and trumpeters, may not be heard at all in you anymore; and any craftsman of any craft may not be found at all in you anymore; and noise of a millstone may not be heard at all in you anymore;
23 E luz de candeia não mais alumiará em ti, e voz de esposo e de esposa mais em ti se não ouvirá; porque os teus mercadores eram os grandes da terra; porque todas as nações foram enganadas pelas tuas feitiçarias.
and light of a lamp may not shine at all in you anymore; and voice of bridegroom and of bride may not be heard at all in you anymore; because your merchants were the great ones of the earth, because all the nations were led astray in your sorcery,
24 E nela se achou o sangue dos profetas, e dos santos, e de todos os que foram mortos na terra.
and in her blood of prophets and of holy ones was found, and of all those who have been slain on the earth.”
