Salmos 89
1 As benignidades do Senhor cantarei perpetuamente: com a minha boca manifestarei a tua fidelidade de geração em geração.
A contemplation by Ethan, the Ezrahite. I will sing of the loving kindness of the LORD forever. With my mouth, I will make known your faithfulness to all generations.
2 Pois disse eu: A tua benignidade será edificada para sempre: tu confirmarás a tua fidelidade até nos céus, dizendo:
I indeed declare, “Love stands firm forever. You established the heavens. Your faithfulness is in them.”
3 Fiz um concerto com o meu escolhido: jurei ao meu servo David, dizendo:
“I have made a covenant with my chosen one, I have sworn to David, my servant,
4 A tua semente estabelecerei para sempre, e edificarei o teu trono de geração em geração (Selah)
‘I will establish your offspring forever, and build up your throne to all generations.’” (Selah)
5 E os céus louvarão as tuas maravilhas, ó Senhor, a tua fidelidade também na congregação dos santos.
The heavens will praise your wonders, LORD, your faithfulness also in the assembly of the holy ones.
6 Pois quem no céu se pode igualar ao Senhor? Quem entre os filhos dos poderosos pode ser semelhante ao Senhor?
For who in the skies can be compared to the LORD? Who among the sons of the heavenly beings is like the LORD,
7 Deus é muito formidável na assembléia dos santos, e para ser reverenciado por todos os que o cercam.
a very awesome God in the council of the holy ones, to be feared above all those who are around him?
8 Ó Senhor, Deus dos exércitos, quem é forte como tu, Senhor? pois a tua fidelidade está à roda de ti?
LORD, God of Armies, who is a mighty one, like you? LORD, your faithfulness is around you.
9 Tu dominas o ímpeto do mar: quando as suas ondas se levantam, tu as fazes aquietar.
You rule the pride of the sea. When its waves rise up, you calm them.
10 Tu quebrantaste a Rahab como se fôra ferida de morte; espalhaste os teus inimigos com o teu braço forte.
You have broken Rahab in pieces, like one of the slain. You have scattered your enemies with your mighty arm.
11 Teus são os céus, e tua é a terra; o mundo e a sua plenitude tu os fundaste.
The heavens are yours. The earth also is yours, the world and its fullness. You have founded them.
12 O norte e o sul tu os criaste; Tabor e Hermon jubilam em teu nome.
You have created the north and the south. Tabor and Hermon rejoice in your name.
13 Tu tens um braço poderoso; forte é a tua mão, e alta está a tua dextra.
You have a mighty arm. Your hand is strong, and your right hand is exalted.
14 Justiça e juízo são o assento do teu trono, misericórdia e verdade irão adiante do teu rosto.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. Loving kindness and truth go before your face.
15 Bem-aventurado o povo que conhece o som alegre: andará, ó Senhor, na luz da tua face.
Blessed are the people who learn to acclaim you. They walk in the light of your presence, LORD.
16 Em teu nome se alegrará todo o dia, e na tua justiça se exaltará.
In your name they rejoice all day. In your righteousness, they are exalted.
17 Pois tu és a glória da sua força; e no teu favor será exaltado o nosso poder.
For you are the glory of their strength. In your favor, our horn will be exalted.
18 Porque o Senhor é a nossa defesa, e o Santo de Israel o nosso Rei.
For our shield belongs to the LORD, our king to the Holy One of Israel.
19 Então falaste em visão ao teu santo, e disseste: pus o socorro sobre um que é poderoso: exaltei a um eleito do povo.
Then you spoke in vision to your saints, and said, “I have given strength to the warrior. I have exalted a young man from the people.
20 Achei a David, meu servo; com santo óleo o ungi:
I have found David, my servant. I have anointed him with my holy oil,
21 Com o qual a minha mão ficará firme, e o meu braço o fortalecerá.
with whom my hand shall be established. My arm will also strengthen him.
22 O inimigo não apertará com ele, nem o filho da perversidade o afligirá.
No enemy will tax him. No wicked man will oppress him.
23 E eu derribarei os seus inimigos perante a sua face, e ferirei aos que o aborrecem.
I will beat down his adversaries before him, and strike those who hate him.
24 E a minha fidelidade e a minha benignidade estarão com ele; e em meu nome será exaltado o seu poder.
But my faithfulness and my loving kindness will be with him. In my name, his horn will be exalted.
25 Porei também a sua mão no mar, e a sua direita nos rios.
I will set his hand also on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26 Ele me chamará, dizendo: Tu és meu Pai, meu Deus, e a rocha da minha salvação.
He will call to me, ‘You are my Father, my God, and the rock of my salvation!’
27 Também o farei meu primogênito, mais elevado do que os reis da terra.
I will also appoint him my firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth.
28 A minha benignidade lhe conservarei eu para sempre, e o meu concerto lhe será firme.
I will keep my loving kindness for him forever more. My covenant will stand firm with him.
29 E conservarei para sempre a sua semente, e o seu trono como os dias do céu.
I will also make his offspring endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 Se os seus filhos deixarem a minha lei, e não andarem nos meus juízos,
If his children forsake my law, and do not walk in my ordinances;
31 Se profanarem os meus preceitos, e não guardarem os meus mandamentos,
if they break my statutes, and do not keep my commandments;
32 Então visitarei a sua transgressão com a vara, e a sua iniquidade com açoites.
then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 Porém não retirarei totalmente dele a minha benignidade, nem faltarei à minha fidelidade.
But I will not completely take my loving kindness from him, nor allow my faithfulness to fail.
34 Não quebrarei o meu concerto, não alterarei o que saiu dos meus lábios.
I will not break my covenant, nor alter what my lips have uttered.
35 Uma vez jurei pela minha santidade que não mentirei a David.
Once I have sworn by my holiness, I will not lie to David.
36 A sua semente durará para sempre, e o seu trono, como o sol diante de mim,
His offspring will endure forever, his throne like the sun before me.
37 Será estabelecido para sempre como a lua, e como uma testemunha fiel no céu (Selah)
It will be established forever like the moon, the faithful witness in the sky.” (Selah)
38 Porém tu rejeitaste e aborreceste; tu te indignaste contra o teu ungido.
But you have rejected and spurned. You have been angry with your anointed.
39 Abominaste o concerto do teu servo: profanaste a sua coroa, lançando-a por terra.
You have renounced the covenant of your servant. You have defiled his crown in the dust.
40 Derrubaste todos os seus valados; arruinaste as suas fortificações.
You have broken down all his hedges. You have brought his strongholds to ruin.
41 Todos os que passam pelo caminho o despojam; é um opróbrio para os seus vizinhos.
All who pass by the way rob him. He has become a reproach to his neighbors.
42 Exaltaste a dextra dos seus adversários; fizeste com que todos os seus inimigos se regozijassem.
You have exalted the right hand of his adversaries. You have made all of his enemies rejoice.
43 Também embotaste os fios da sua espada, e não o sustentaste na peleja.
Yes, you turn back the edge of his sword, and have not supported him in battle.
44 Fizeste cessar a sua glória, e deitaste por terra o seu trono.
You have ended his splendor, and thrown his throne down to the ground.
45 Abreviaste os dias da sua mocidade; cobriste-o de vergonha (Selah)
You have shortened the days of his youth. You have covered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Até quando, Senhor? Acaso te esconderás para sempre? arderá a tua ira como fogo?
How long, LORD? Will you hide yourself forever? Will your wrath burn like fire?
47 Lembra-te de quão breves são os meus dias; pelo que debalde criaste todos os filhos dos homens.
Remember how short my time is, for what vanity you have created all the children of men!
48 Que homem há, que viva, e não veja a morte? Livrará ele a sua alma do poder da sepultura? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
What man is he who shall live and not see death, who shall deliver his soul from the power of Sheol (Sheol h7585)? (Selah)
49 Senhor, onde estão as tuas antigas benignidades, que juraste a David pela tua verdade?
Lord, where are your former loving kindnesses, which you swore to David in your faithfulness?
50 Lembra-te, Senhor, do opróbrio dos teus servos; como eu trago no meu peito o opróbrio de todos os povos poderosos:
Remember, Lord, the reproach of your servants, how I bear in my heart the taunts of all the mighty peoples,
51 Com o qual, Senhor, os teus inimigos tem difamado, com o qual tem difamado as pisadas do teu ungido.
With which your enemies have mocked, LORD, with which they have mocked the footsteps of your anointed one.
52 Bendito seja o Senhor para sempre. amém, e amém.
Blessed be the LORD forever more. Amen, and Amen.
