Salmos 83
1 Ó Deus, não estejas em silêncio; não te cales, nem te aquietes, ó Deus.
O God, keep thou not silence. Hold not thy peace, and be not still, O God.
2 Porque eis que teus inimigos fazem tumulto, e os que te aborrecem levantaram a cabeça.
For, lo, thine enemies make a tumult, and those who hate thee have lifted up the head.
3 Tomaram astuto conselho contra o teu povo, e consultavam contra os teus escondidos.
They take crafty counsel against thy people, and consult together against thy hidden ones.
4 Disseram: Vinde, e desarreiguemo-los para que não sejam nação, nem haja mais memória do nome de Israel.
They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation, that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.
5 Porque consultaram juntos e unânimes; eles se aliam contra ti:
For they have consulted together with one consent. They make a covenant against thee:
6 As tendas de Edom, e dos ismaelitas, de Moab, e dos agarenos,
the tents of Edom, and the Ishmaelites, Moab, and the Hagarenes,
7 De Gebal, e de Ammon, e de Amalek, de Palestina, com os moradores de Tiro.
Gebal, and Ammon, and Amalek, Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre,
8 Também Assyria se ajuntou com eles: foram ajudar aos filhos de Lot (Selah)
Assyria also is joined with them; they have helped the sons of Lot. (Selah)
9 Faze-lhes como aos madianitas; como a Sisera, como a Jabin na ribeira de Kison.
Do thou to them as to Midian, as to Sisera, as to Jabin, at the river Kishon,
10 Os quais pereceram em Endor; tornaram-se como estrume para a terra.
who perished at Endor, who became as dung for the earth.
11 Faze aos seus nobres como a Oreb, e como a Zeeb e a todos os seus príncipes, como a Zebah e como a Zalmuna;
Make their ranking men like Oreb and Zeeb, yea, all their rulers like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 Que disseram: Tomemos para nós as casas de Deus em possessão.
who said, Let us take to ourselves in possession the habitations of God.
13 Deus meu, faze-os como um tufão, como a aresta diante do vento.
O my God, make them like the whirling dust, as stubble before the wind,
14 Como o fogo que queima um bosque, e como a chama que incendeia as brenhas,
as the fire that burns the forest, and as the flame that sets the mountains on fire.
15 Assim os persegue com a tua tempestade, e os assombra com o teu torvelinho.
So pursue them with thy tempest, and terrify them with thy storm.
16 Encham-se de vergonha as suas faces, para que busquem o teu nome, Senhor.
Fill their faces with confusion, that they may seek thy name, O Jehovah.
17 Confundam-se e assombrem-se perpetuamente; envergonhem-se, e pereçam.
Let them be put to shame and dismayed forever. Yea, let them be confounded and perish,
18 Para que saibam que tu, a quem só pertence o nome de Jehovah, és o altíssimo sobre toda a terra.
that they may know that thou alone, whose name is Jehovah, are the Most High over all the earth.
