Salmos 53

1 Disse o néscio no seu coração: Não há Deus. Teem-se corrompido, e cometido abominável iniquidade: não há ninguém que faça o bem.

For the chief musician; set to Mahalath. A maschil of David. A fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt and have done abominable iniquity; there is no one who does good.

2 Deus olhou desde os céus para os filhos dos homens, para ver se havia algum que tivesse entendimento e buscasse a Deus.

God looks down from heaven on the children of mankind to see if there are any who understand, who seek after him.

3 Desviaram-se todos, e juntamente se fizeram imundos; não há quem faça o bem, não, nem sequer um

They have all turned away. Together they have become corrupt. There is not one who does good, not even one.

4 Acaso não tem conhecimento os que obram a iniquidade, os quais comem o meu povo como se comessem pão? eles não invocaram a Deus.

Do those who commit iniquity have no understanding— those who devour my people as if they were eating bread and they do not call on God?

5 Ali se acharam em grande temor, onde não havia temor, pois Deus espalhou os ossos daquele que te cercava; tu os confundiste, porque Deus os rejeitou.

They were in great fear, although no reason to fear was there; for God will scatter the bones of whoever will camp against you; such people will be put to shame because God has rejected them.

6 Oh! se já de Sião viera a salvação de Israel! Quando Deus fizer voltar os cativos do seu povo, então se regozijará Jacob e se alegrará Israel

Oh, that the salvation of Israel would come from Zion! When God brings back his people from the captivity, then Jacob will rejoice and Israel will be glad!
