1 Lembra-te, Senhor, de David, e de todas as suas aflições.
A song for pilgrims going up to Jerusalem. Lord, remember David, and all that he went through.
2 Como jurou ao Senhor, e fez votos ao poderoso de Jacob, dizendo:
He made a promise to the Lord, a vow to the Mighty One of Jacob:
3 Certamente que não entrarei na tenda de minha casa, nem subirei ao leito da minha cama.
“I will not go home, I will not go to bed,
4 Não darei sono aos meus olhos, nem adormecimento às minhas pestanas,
I will not go to sleep, I will not take a nap,
5 Enquanto não achar lugar para o Senhor, uma morada para o Poderoso de Jacob.
until I find a place where the Lord can live, a home for the Mighty One of Jacob.”
6 Eis que ouvimos falar dela em Ephrata, e a achamos no campo do bosque.
In Ephrathah we received information about the Ark of Agreement, and we found it in fields near Jaar.
7 Entraremos nos seus tabernáculos: prostrar-nos-emos ante o escabelo de seus pés.
Let's go to the place where the Lord lives and bow down at his feet in worship.
8 Levanta-te, Senhor, no teu repouso, tu e a arca da tua força.
Come, Lord, and enter your home, together with your Ark of your power.
9 Vistam-se os teus sacerdotes de justiça, e alegrem-se os teus santos.
May your priests wear goodness like clothing; may your faithful people shout for joy.
10 Por amor de David, teu servo, não faças virar o rosto do teu ungido.
For the sake of your servant David, don't reject the king you have chosen.
11 O Senhor jurou na verdade a David: não se apartará dela: Do fruto do teu ventre porei sobre o teu trono.
The Lord made a solemn promise to David, one he will never cancel—“I will put one of your descendants on your throne.
12 Se os teus filhos guardarem o meu concerto, e os meus testemunhos, que eu lhes hei de ensinar, também os seus filhos se assentarão perpetuamente no teu trono.
If your sons keep to my agreement and my laws that I will teach them, then their sons will always occupy your throne.”
13 Porque o Senhor elegeu a Sião; desejou-a para a sua habitação, dizendo:
For the Lord has chosen Zion, wanting to make his home there, saying:
14 Este é o meu repouso para sempre: aqui habitarei, pois o desejei.
“This will always be my home; this is where I want to live.
15 Abençoarei abundantemente o seu mantimento; fartarei de pão os seus necessitados.
I will provide the people of the city with all they need; I will feed the poor.
16 Vestirei os seus sacerdotes de salvação, e os seus santos saltarão de prazer.
I will clothe its priests with salvation; and its faithful people will shout for joy.
17 Ali farei brotar a força de David: preparei uma lâmpada para o meu ungido.
I will make the line of David even more powerful. I have prepared a lamp for my chosen king.
18 Vestirei os seus inimigos de confusão; mas sobre ele florescerá a sua coroa.
I will humiliate his enemies, but the crown he wears will shine brightly.”
