Salmos 118

1 Louvai ao Senhor, porque ele é bom, porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

O give thanks to the LORD; for he is good: because his mercy endureth for ever.

2 Diga agora Israel que a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

Let Israel now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

3 Diga agora a casa de Aarão que a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

Let the house of Aaron now say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

4 Digam agora os que temem ao Senhor que a sua benignidade dura para sempre.

Let them now that fear the LORD say, that his mercy endureth for ever.

5 Invoquei o Senhor na angústia; o Senhor me ouviu, e me tirou para um lugar largo.

I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.

6 O Senhor está comigo: não temerei o que me pode fazer o homem.

The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do to me?

7 O Senhor está comigo com aqueles que me ajudam; pelo que verei cumprido o meu desejo sobre os que me aborrecem.

The LORD taketh my part with them that help me: therefore shall I see my desire upon them that hate me.

8 É melhor confiar no Senhor do que confiar no homem.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

9 É melhor confiar no Senhor do que confiar nos príncipes.

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in princes.

10 Todas as nações me cercaram, mas no nome do Senhor as despedaçarei.

All nations surrounded me: but in the name of the LORD will I destroy them.

11 Cercaram-me, e tornaram a cercar-me; mas no nome do Senhor eu as despedaçarei.

They surrounded me; yea, they surrounded me: but in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

12 Cercaram-me como abelhas: porém apagaram-se como o fogo de espinhos; pois no nome do Senhor os despedaçarei.

They surrounded me like bees; they are quenched as the fire of thorns: for in the name of the LORD I will destroy them.

13 Com força me impeliste para me fazeres cair, porém o Senhor me ajudou.

Thou hast violently thrust at me that I might fall: but the LORD helped me.

14 O Senhor é a minha força e o meu cântico; e se fez a minha salvação.

The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation.

15 Nas tendas dos justos há voz de júbilo e de salvação: a dextra do Senhor faz proezas.

The voice of rejoicing and salvation is in the tabernacles of the righteous: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

16 A dextra do Senhor se exalta: a dextra do Senhor faz proezas.

The right hand of the LORD is exalted: the right hand of the LORD doeth valiantly.

17 Não morrerei, mas viverei; e contarei as obras do Senhor.

I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

18 O Senhor me castigou muito, mas não me entregou à morte.

The LORD hath chastened me greatly: but he hath not given me over to death.

19 Abri-me as portas da justiça: entrarei por elas, e louvarei ao Senhor.

Open to me the gates of righteousness: I will enter them, and I will praise the LORD:

20 Esta é a porta do Senhor, pela qual os justos entrarão.

This gate of the LORD, into which the righteous shall enter.

21 Louvar-te-ei, pois me escutaste, e te fizeste a minha salvação.

I will praise thee: for thou hast heard me, and art become my salvation.

22 A Pedra que os edificadores rejeitaram se tornou a cabeça da esquina.

The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner.

23 Da parte do Senhor se fez isto; maravilhoso é aos nossos olhos.

This is the LORD’S doing; it is marvellous in our eyes.

24 Este é o dia que fez o Senhor: regozijemo-nos, e alegremo-nos nele.

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

25 Salva-nos, agora, te pedimos, ó Senhor, ó Senhor, te pedimos, prospera-nos.

Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity.

26 Bendito aquele que vem em nome do Senhor: nós vos bendizemos desde a casa do Senhor.

Blessed be he that cometh in the name of the LORD: we have blessed you out of the house of the LORD.

27 Deus é o Senhor que nos mostrou a luz: atai a vítima da festa com cordas, até aos cornos do altar.

God is the LORD, who hath shown us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even to the horns of the altar.

28 Tu és o meu Deus, e eu te louvarei; tu és o meu Deus, e eu te exaltarei.

Thou art my God, and I will praise thee: thou art my God, I will exalt thee.

29 Louvai ao Senhor, porque ele é bom; porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.
