Salmos 110

1 Disse o Senhor ao meu Senhor: Assenta-te à minha mão direita, até que ponha aos teus inimigos por escabelo dos teus pés.

Yahweh said to my lord [the king], “Sit [here], close to me, in the place of highest honor [MTY] until I [completely defeat] your enemies [MET] [and] make [them like] a stool for your feet!”

2 O Senhor enviará o cetro da tua fortaleza desde Sião, dizendo: Domina no meio dos teus inimigos.

Yahweh [also said to him], “I will extend your power as king from Jerusalem [to other lands]; you will rule over all your enemies.

3 O teu povo será mui voluntário no dia do teu poder, nos ornamentos de santidade, desde a madre da alva: tu tens o orvalho da tua mocidade.

On the day that you lead your armies into battle, many of your people will volunteer [to join your army]. Like the dew refreshes the earth early in the morning, young men will [encourage you by] coming to help you.”

4 Jurou o Senhor, e não se arrependerá: tu és um sacerdote eterno, segundo a ordem de Melchisedec.

Yahweh has made a solemn promise, and he will never change his mind; he has said to the king, “You will be a priest forever [serving Yahweh] like Melchizedek did.”

5 O Senhor, à tua direita, ferirá os reis no dia da sua ira.

Yahweh stands [in the place of highest honor] your right side; when he becomes angry, he will defeat [many kings].

6 Julgará entre as nações: tudo encherá de corpos mortos: ferirá os cabeças de grandes terras.

He will judge and punish the people of [many] nations; he will fill the land with their corpses. He will crush the heads of other kings all over the earth.

7 Beberá do ribeiro no caminho, pelo que exaltará a cabeça.

But my lord the king will drink from streams near the road; he will be refreshed after defeating his enemies.
