Salmos 107
1 Louvai ao Senhor, porque ele é bom, porque a sua benignidade dura para sempre.
Give thanks to the Lord for his goodness for his kindness endures forever.
2 Digam-no os remidos do Senhor, os que remiu da mão do inimigo,
Let this be the song of the ransomed, whom the Lord has redeemed from distress,
3 E os que congregou das terras do oriente e do ocidente, do norte e do sul.
gathering them from all lands, east, west, north, and south.
4 Andaram desgarrados pelo deserto, por caminhos solitários; não acharam cidade para habitarem.
In the wastes of the desert some wandered, finding no way to a city inhabited.
5 Famintos e sedentos, a sua alma neles desfalecia.
Full of hunger and thirst, their spirit failed.
6 E clamaram ao Senhor na sua angústia, e os livrou das suas necessidades.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses,
7 E os levou por caminho direito, para irem a uma cidade de habitação.
guiding them straight on the way, till they reached an inhabited city.
8 Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
Let them thank the Lord for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people;
9 Pois fartou a alma sedenta, e encheu de bondade a alma faminta.
for the thirsty he satisfies, and the hungry he fills with good things.
10 Tal como a que se assenta nas trevas e sombra da morte, presa em aflição e em ferro;
Some sat in darkness and gloom prisoners in irons and misery,
11 Porquanto se rebelaram contra as palavras de Deus, e desprezaram o conselho do altíssimo,
for rebelling against God’s word, and spurning the Most High’s counsel.
12 Portanto lhes abateu o coração com trabalho; tropeçaram, e não houve quem os ajudasse.
Their heart was bowed with toil; there was no one to help when they stumbled.
13 Então clamaram ao Senhor na sua angústia, e os livrou das suas necessidades.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses.
14 Tirou-os das trevas e sombra da morte; e quebrou as suas prisões.
Out of darkness and gloom he brought them, and burst their chains.
15 Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
Let them praise the Lord for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people.
16 Pois quebrou as portas de bronze; e despedaçou os ferrolhos de ferro.
For he shattered the gates of bronze, and broke bars of iron.
17 Os loucos, por causa da sua transgressão, e por causa das suas iniquidades, são aflitos.
Some were sick from their wicked ways, and suffering because of their sins.
18 A sua alma aborreceu toda a comida, e chegaram até às portas da morte.
All manner of food they hated; they had come to the gates of death.
19 Então clamaram ao Senhor na sua angústia: e ele os livrou das suas necessidades.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses.
20 Enviou a sua palavra, e os sarou; e os livrou da sua destruição.
He sent his word and healed them, and delivered their life from the pit.
21 Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
Let them praise the Lord for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people.
22 E ofereçam os sacrifícios de louvor, e relatem as suas obras com regozijo.
Let them offer to him thankofferings, and with joy tell what things he has done.
23 Os que descem ao mar em navios, mercando nas grandes águas,
Some crossed the sea in ships, doing business in great waters.
24 Esses veem as obras do Senhor, e as suas maravilhas no profundo.
They have seen what the Lord can do, and his wonderful deeds on the deep.
25 Pois ele manda, e se levanta o vento tempestuoso, que eleva as suas ondas.
At his command rose a tempest, which lifted the waves on high.
26 Sobem aos céus; descem aos abismos, e a sua alma se derrete em angústias.
Up to heaven they went, down to the depths; their courage failed them.
27 Andam e cambaleam como ébrios, e perderam todo o tino.
They staggered and reeled like drunkards; all their skills useless.
28 Então clamam ao Senhor na sua angústia; e ele os livra das suas necessidades.
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them from their distresses.
29 Faz cessar a tormenta, e calam-se as suas ondas.
He stilled the storm to a whisper, and the waves of the sea were hushed.
30 Então se alegram, porque se aquietaram; assim os leva ao seu porto desejado.
They were glad, because it was quiet; they were led to the haven they longed for.
31 Louvem ao Senhor pela sua bondade, e pelas suas maravilhas para com os filhos dos homens.
Let them praise the Lord, for his kindness, for his wonderful deeds for people.
32 Exaltem-no na congregação do povo, e glorifiquem-no na assembléia dos anciãos.
Where the people assemble, extol him, and praise him in council of elders.
33 Ele converte os rios em um deserto, e as fontes em terra sedenta:
He turns streams into a wilderness, springs of water into thirsty land,
34 A terra frutífera em estéril, pela maldade dos que nela habitam.
fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the sin of the people.
35 Converte o deserto em lagoa, e a terra seca em fontes.
A desert he makes pools of water, a land of drought into springs of water.
36 E faz habitar ali os famintos, para que edifiquem cidade para habitação;
He settles the hungry therein, they establish a city to live in.
37 E semeiam os campos e plantam vinhas, que produzem fruto abundante.
They sow fields and plant vineyards, which furnish a fruitful yield.
38 Também os abençoa, de modo que se multiplicam muito; e o seu gado não diminui.
By his blessing they multiply greatly, and he lets not their cattle decrease.
39 Depois se diminuem e se abatem, pela opressão, aflição e tristeza.
Yet when they are bowed and diminished by oppression, misfortune, or sorrow,
40 Derrama o desprezo sobre os príncipes, e os faz andar desgarrados pelo deserto, onde não há caminho.
he pours contempt upon princes, and on trackless wastes leads them astray
41 Porém livra ao necessitado da opressão em um lugar alto, e multiplica as famílias como rebanhos.
He lifts the poor out of misery, and makes families fruitful as flocks.
42 Os retos o verão, e se alegrarão, e toda a iniquidade tapará a boca.
At this sight shall the upright be glad, and all wicked mouths shall be stopped.
43 Quem é sábio observará estas coisas, e eles compreenderão as benignidades do Senhor.
Let those who are wise observe this, and consider the love of the Lord
