Provérbios 8
1 Não clama porventura a sabedoria, e a inteligência não dá a sua voz?
Does not Wisdom call out? Does not Understanding raise her voice?
2 No cume das alturas, junto ao caminho, nas encruzilhadas das veredas se põe.
On the hilltops beside the road, at the crossroads, Wisdom has taken her stand.
3 Da banda das portas da cidade, à entrada da cidade, e à entrada das portas está gritando.
Before the gates at the entrance into the city, at the entrances into the city, she calls out.
4 A vós, ó homens, clamo; e a minha voz se dirige aos filhos dos homens.
“It is to you, people, that I call; my voice is for the sons of mankind.
5 Entendei, ó símplices, a prudência: e vós, loucos, entendei do coração.
You who are naive, learn wisdom; and you who are foolish, you must get an understanding mind.
6 Ouvi, porque falarei coisas excelentes: os meus lábios se abrirão para a equidade.
Listen, because I will speak of noble things, and when my lips open I will say upright things.
7 Porque a minha boca proferirá a verdade, e os meus lábios abominam a impiedade.
For my mouth speaks what is trustworthy, and wickedness is disgusting to my lips.
8 Em justiça estão todas as palavras da minha boca: não há nelas nenhuma coisa tortuosa nem perversa.
All the words of my mouth are just; in them is nothing twisted or misleading.
9 Todas elas são retas para o que bem as entende, e justas para os que acham o conhecimento.
All of them are straight for the person who understands; my words are upright for those who find knowledge.
10 Aceitai a minha correção, e não a prata: e o conhecimento, mais do que o ouro fino escolhido.
Acquire my instruction rather than silver; acquire knowledge rather than pure gold.
11 Porque melhor é a sabedoria do que os rubins; e tudo o que mais se deseja não se pode comparar com ela.
For Wisdom is better than jewels; no treasure is equal to her.
12 Eu, a sabedoria, habito com a prudência, e acho a ciência dos conselhos.
I, Wisdom, live with Prudence, and I possess knowledge and discretion.
13 O temor do Senhor é aborrecer o mal: a soberba, e a arrogância, e o mau caminho, e a boca perversa, aborreço.
The fear of Yahweh is to hate evil. I hate pride and arrogance, the evil way, and perverted speech. I hate them.
14 Meu é o conselho e verdadeira sabedoria: eu sou o entendimento, minha é a fortaleza.
I have good advice and sound wisdom; I am insight; strength belongs to me.
15 Por mim reinam os reis e os príncipes ordenam justiça.
By me kings reign, and rulers make laws that are just.
16 Por mim dominam os dominadores, e príncipes, todos os juízes da terra.
By me princes rule, nobles, and all who govern with justice.
17 Eu amo aos que me amam, e os que de madrugada me buscam me acharão.
I love those who love me, and those who diligently seek me, find me.
18 Riquezas e honra estão comigo; como também opulência durável e justiça.
With me are riches and honor, lasting wealth and righteousness.
19 Melhor é o meu fruto do que o fino ouro e do que o ouro refinado, e as minhas novidades do que a prata escolhida.
My fruit is better than gold, even fine gold; my produce is better than pure silver.
20 Faço andar pelo caminho da justiça, no meio das veredas do juízo.
I walk in the path of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of justice.
21 Para que faça herdar bens permanentes aos que me amam, e eu encha os seus tesouros.
As a result, I make those who love me inherit wealth; I fill up their treasuries.
22 O Senhor me possuiu no princípio de seus caminhos, desde então, e antes de suas obras.
Yahweh created me at the beginning, the first of his deeds then.
23 Desde a eternidade fui ungida, desde o princípio, antes do começo da terra.
In ages long ago I was made—from the first, from the beginnings of the earth.
24 Quando ainda não havia abismos, fui gerada, quando ainda não havia fontes carregadas de águas.
Before there were oceans, I was given birth— before there were springs abounding with water.
25 Antes que os montes se houvessem assentado, antes dos outeiros, eu era gerada.
Before the mountains were settled and before the hills, I was born.
26 Ainda não tinha feito a terra, nem os campos, nem o princípio dos mais miúdos do mundo.
I was born before Yahweh had made the earth or the fields, or even the first dust in the world.
27 Quando preparava os céus, ai estava eu, quando compassava ao redor a face do abismo,
I was there when he established the heavens, when he drew a circle on the surface of the deep.
28 Quando afirmava as nuvens de cima, quando fortificava as fontes do abismo,
I was there when he established the clouds above and when the springs in the deep became fixed.
29 Quando punha ao mar o seu termo, para que as águas não trespassassem o seu mando, quando compunha os fundamentos da terra.
I was there when he made his limit for the sea, so the waters should not spread beyond his command, and when there was set the limit for the foundations of the dry land.
30 Então eu estava com ele por aluno: e eu era cada dia as suas delícias, folgando perante ele em todo o tempo;
I was beside him, as a skilled craftsman; I was his delight day after day, always rejoicing before him.
31 Folgando no seu mundo habitável, e achando as minhas delícias com os filhos dos homens.
I was rejoicing in his whole world, and my delight was in the sons of mankind.
32 Agora, pois, filhos, ouvi-me, porque bem-aventurados serão os que guardarem os meus caminhos.
Now, my sons, listen to me, for those who keep my ways will be blessed.
33 Ouvi a correção, e sede sábios, e não a rejeiteis.
Listen to my instruction and be wise; do not neglect it.
34 Bem-aventurado o homem que me dá ouvidos, velando às minhas portas cada dia, esperando às hombreiras das minhas entradas.
The one who listens to me will be blessed. He will be watching every day at my doors, waiting beside the posts of my doors.
35 Porque o que me achar achará a vida, e alcançará favor do Senhor.
For whoever finds me, finds life, and he will find the favor of Yahweh.
36 Mas o que pecar contra mim violentará a sua própria alma: todos os que me aborrecem amam a morte.
But he who fails, harms his own life; all who hate me love death.”
