Provérbios 14
1 Toda a mulher sabia edifica a sua casa: mas a tola a derriba com as suas mãos.
The wise woman buildeth her house; But the foolish teareth it down with her hands.
2 O que anda na sua sinceridade teme ao Senhor, mas o que se desvia de seus caminhos o despreza.
He who walketh in uprightness feareth the LORD; But he who is perverse in his ways despiseth him.
3 Na boca do tolo está a vara da soberba, mas os lábios dos sábios os conservam.
In the mouth of the foolish pride is a scourge; But the lips of the wise preserve them.
4 Não havendo bois, a mangedoura está limpa, mas pela força do boi há abundância de colheitas.
Where there are no oxen, the crib is clean; But there is great increase by the strength of the ox.
5 A testemunha verdadeira não mentirá, mas a testemunha falsa se desboca em mentiras.
A faithful witness doth not lie; But a false witness poureth forth lies.
6 O escarnecedor busca sabedoria, e nenhuma acha, mas para o prudente o conhecimento é fácil.
The scoffer seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not; But knowledge is easy to the man of understanding.
7 Vai-te de diante do homem insensato, porque nele não divisarás os lábios do conhecimento.
Go from the presence of a foolish man; For thou hast not perceived in him the lips of knowledge.
8 A sabedoria do prudente é entender o seu caminho, mas a estultícia dos tolos é engano.
The wisdom of the prudent is in giving heed to his way; But the folly of fools is deceit.
9 Os loucos zombam do pecado, mas entre os retos há benevolência.
Fools make a mock at sin; But with the upright is favor.
10 O coração conhece a sua própria amargura, e o estranho não se entremeterá na sua alegria.
The heart knoweth its own bitterness. And a stranger cannot intermeddle with its joy.
11 A casa dos ímpios se desfará, mas a tenda dos retos florescerá.
The house of the wicked shall be destroyed; But the tent of the upright shall flourish.
12 Há caminho que ao homem parece direito, mas o fim dele são os caminhos da morte.
There is a way which seemeth right to a man, But its end is the way to death.
13 Até no riso terá dor o coração, e o fim da alegria é tristeza.
Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful, And the end of joy is grief.
14 Dos seus caminhos se fartará o que declina no coração, mas o homem bom se fartará de si mesmo.
The perverse in heart shall be filled with his own ways; And from himself shall the good man be satisfied.
15 O simples dá crédito a cada palavra, mas o prudente atenta para os seus passos.
The simple man believeth every word; But the prudent looketh well to his steps.
16 O sábio teme, e desvia-se do mal, mas o tolo se encoleriza, e dá-se por seguro.
The wise man feareth, and departeth from evil; But the fool is haughty and confident.
17 O que presto se indigna, fará doidices, e o homem de más imaginações será aborrecido.
He who is hasty in his anger will commit folly; And the man of wicked devices will be hated.
18 Os símplices herdarão a estultícia, mas os prudentes se coroarão de conhecimento.
The simple inherit folly; But the prudent are crowned with knowledge.
19 Os maus se inclinaram diante dos bons, e os ímpios diante das portas do justo.
The evil bow before the good; Yea, the wicked at the gates of the righteous.
20 O pobre é aborrecido até do companheiro, porém os amigos dos ricos são muitos.
The poor is hated even by his own neighbor; But the rich hath many friends.
21 O que despreza ao seu companheiro peca, mas o que se compadece dos humildes é bem-aventurado.
He who despiseth his neighbor sinneth; But happy is he who hath mercy on the poor.
22 Porventura não erram os que obram o mal? mas beneficência e fidelidade serão para os que obram o bem.
Do not they who devise evil fail of their end? But they who devise good meet with kindness and truth.
23 Em todo o trabalho proveito há, mas a palavra dos lábios só encaminha à pobreza.
In all labor there is profit; But the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
24 A coroa dos sábios é a sua riqueza, a estultícia dos tolos é só estultícia.
Riches are a crown to the wise; But the promotion of fools is folly.
25 A testemunha verdadeira livra as almas, mas o que se desboca em mentiras é enganador.
A true witness saveth lives; But a deceitful witness poureth forth lies.
26 No temor do Senhor há firme confiança, e ele será um refúgio para seus filhos.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence; Yea, to his children he will be a refuge.
27 O temor do Senhor é uma fonte de vida, para se desviarem dos laços da morte.
The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life; By it men escape from the snares of death.
28 Na multidão do povo está a magnificência do rei, mas na falta do povo a perturbação do príncipe.
In a numerous people is the glory of a king; But the want of people is the destruction of a prince.
29 O longânimo é grande em entendimento, mas o que é de espírito impaciente assinala a sua loucura.
He who is slow to anger is of great understanding. But he who is of a hasty spirit setteth folly on high.
30 O coração com saúde é a vida da carne, mas a inveja é a podridão dos ossos.
A quiet heart is the life of the flesh; But the ferment of passion is rottenness to the bones.
31 O que oprime ao pobre insulta àquele que o criou, mas o que se compadece do necessitado o honra.
He who oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker; But he who hath mercy on the poor honoreth him.
32 Pela sua malícia será lançado fora o ímpio, mas o justo até na sua morte tem confiança.
By his wickedness the wicked is thrust down; But the righteous hath hope even in death.
33 No coração do prudente repousa a sabedoria, mas o que há no interior dos tolos se conhece.
Wisdom resteth quietly in the heart of the wise; But in the breast of fools it will be made known.
34 A justiça exalta ao povo, mas o pecado é o opróbrio das nações.
Righteousness exalteth a people; But the reproach of nations is sin.
35 O Rei tem seu contentamento no servo prudente, mas sobre o que envergonha cairá o seu furor.
The king's favor is toward a wise servant; But his wrath is against him that causeth shame.
