Miquéias 6
1 Ouvi agora o que diz o Senhor: Levanta-te, contende com os montes, e ouçam os outeiros a tua voz.
Do but hear now what the Lord saith, Arise, contend thou before the mountains, and let the hills hear thy voice.
2 Ouvi montes, a contenda do Senhor, e vós, fortes fundamentos da terra; porque o Senhor tem uma contenda com o seu povo, e com Israel entrará em juízo.
Hear ye, O mountains, the controversy of the Lord, and ye strong foundations of the earth! for the Lord hath a controversy with his people, and with Israel will he plead.
3 Ó povo meu; que te tenho feito? e com que te enfadei? testifica contra mim.
O my people, what have I done unto thee? and wherewith have I wearied thee? testify against me.
4 Certamente te fiz subir da terra do Egito e da casa da servidão te remi; e enviei adiante de ti a Moisés, Aarão e Miriam.
Although I had brought thee up out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed thee out of the house of bond-men; and I sent before thee Moses, Aaron, and Miriam.
5 Povo meu, ora lembra-te do que consultou Balak, rei de Moab, e o que lhe respondeu Balaão, filho de Beor, desde Sittim até Gilgal; para que conheças as justiças do Senhor.
O my people, do but remember what Balak the king of Moab resolved, and what Bil'am the son of Be'or answered him, from Shittim unto Gilgal, in order that ye may know the gracious benefits of the Lord.
6 Com que coisa encontrarei ao Senhor, e me inclinarei ao Deus altíssimo? encontra-lo-ei com holocaustos? com bezerros de um ano?
Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, bow myself before the God on high? shall I come before him with burnt-offerings, with calves of a year old!
7 Agradar-se-á o Senhor de milhares de carneiros? de dez mil ribeiros de azeite? darei o meu primogênito pela minha transgressão? o fruto do meu ventre pelo pecado da minha alma?
Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with myriads of streams of oil? shall I give my first-born for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?
8 Ele te declarou, ó homem, o que é bom; e que é o que o Senhor pede de ti, senão que pratiques a justiça, e ames a beneficência, e andes humildemente com o teu Deus
He hath told thee, O man, what is good; and what the Lord doth require of thee: [nothing] but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with thy God.
9 A voz do Senhor clama à cidade (porque o teu nome vê a inteireza): Ouvi a vara, e a quem a ordenou.
The voice of the Lord calleth unto the city, —and [the man of] wisdom shall see thy name: —hear ye the rod [of punishment], and who hath ordained it.
10 Ainda há na casa do ímpio tesouros da impiedade? e epha pequena, que é detestável?
Are there yet in the house of the wicked man the treasures of wickedness, and the scant accursed measure?
11 Seria eu limpo com balanças falsas? e com uma bolsa de pesos enganosos?
Can I be pure with wicked balances, and with a bag [full] of deceptive weights?
12 Porque os seus ricos estão cheios de violência, e os seus habitantes falam mentiras; e a sua língua é enganosa na sua boca.
For her rich men are full of violence, and her inhabitants have spoken falsehood, and their tongue is deceit [itself] in their mouth.
13 Assim eu também te enfraquecerei, ferindo-te e assolando-te por causa dos teus pecados.
Therefore have I also smitten thee with sore wounds, making [thee] desolate because of thy sins.
14 Tu comerás, mas não te fartarás; e a tua humilhação estará no meio de ti; e tu removerás, mas não livrarás; e aquilo que livrares, eu o entregarei à espada
Thou wilt indeed eat, but not be satisfied; and what thou hast eaten shall bend thee down; and thou wilt overtake [the enemy], but thou shalt not deliver; and that which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.
15 Tu semearás, mas não segarás: pisarás a azeitona, mas não te ungirás com azeite; e o mosto, mas não beberás vinho.
Thou wilt indeed sow, but thou shalt not reap; thou wilt indeed tread out olives, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with oil; and the juice of the grapes, but thou shalt not drink wine.
16 Porque se guardaram os estatutos de Omri, e toda a obra da casa de Acab, e vós andais nos conselhos deles; para que eu te faça uma desolação, e dos seus habitantes um assobio: assim trareis sobre vós o opróbrio do meu povo
For there are observed the statutes of 'Omri, and all the works of the house of Achab, and ye walk in their counsels: in order that I should give thee up unto desolation, and thy inhabitants to derision; and ye shall bear the reproach of my people.
