Mateus 7
1 Não julgueis, para que não sejais julgados.
JUDGE not, that ye be not judged.
2 Porque com o juízo com que julgardes sereis julgados, e com a medida com que tiverdes medido hão de medir para vós.
For with the same judgment ye judge others, shall ye be judged: and with the measure ye mete, shall it be measured to you again.
3 E porque reparas tu no argueiro que está no olho do teu irmão, e não vês a trave que está no teu olho
And why spiest thou out the mote which is in thy brother’s eye, yet payest no attention to the beam which is in thine own eye?
4 Ou como dirás a teu irmão: Deixa-me tirar o argueiro do teu olho; e, eis uma trave no teu olho?
Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Suffer me to take the mote off from thine eye: and behold there is a beam in thine own eye?
5 Hipócrita, tira primeiro a trave do teu olho, e então cuidarás em tirar o argueiro do olho do teu irmão.
Thou hypocrite, take first the beam out of thine own eye and then shalt thou see clearly to take off the mote from thy brother’s eye.
6 Não deis aos cães as coisas santas, nem deiteis aos porcos as vossas pérolas, não seja caso que as pizem com os pés, e, voltando-se, vos despedacem.
Give not that which is holy to dogs, nor cast pearls before swine; lest they tread them under foot, and turning round tear you.
7 Pedi, e dar-se-vos-a; buscai, e encontrareis; batei, e abrir-se-vos-a.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
8 Porque, aquele que pede, recebe; e, o que busca, encontra; e, ao que bate, se abre.
for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
9 E qual dentre vós é o homem que, pedindo-lhe pão o seu filho, lhe dará uma pedra?
What man is there of you, of whom if his son ask a loaf, will he give him a stone?
10 E, pedindo-lhe peixe, lhe dará uma serpente?
or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
11 Se vós, pois, sendo maus, sabeis dar boas coisas aos vossos filhos, quanto mais vosso Pai, que está nos céus, dará bens aos que lhos pedirem?
If ye then, evil as ye are, know how to bestow good gifts on your children; how much more will your Father who is in heaven, bestow good things on those who ask him?
12 Portanto, tudo o que vós quereis que os homens vos façam, fazei-lho também vós, porque esta é a lei e os profetas.
All things therefore whatsoever ye would be willing that men should do to you, just so do ye to them: for this is the law and the prophets.
13 Entrai pela porta estreita; porque larga é a porta, e espaçoso o caminho que conduz à perdição, e muitos são os que entram por ele;
Enter in through the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and spacious the road, which leadeth to perdition, and they are many who enter that way:
14 Porque estreita é a porta, e apertado o caminho que leva à vida, e poucos há que o encontrem.
because strait is the gate, and narrow the road, which leadeth to life, and they are but a few who find it.
15 Acautelai-vos, porém, dos falsos profetas, que veem para vós vestidos como ovelhas, mas interiormente são lobos devoradores.
Take heed then of false prophets, who come to you in the garb of sheep, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
16 Por seus frutos os conhecereis. Porventura colhem-se uvas dos espinheiros ou figos dos abrolhos?
By their fruits ye shall know them. Do men gather a bunch of grapes from thorns, or figs from thistles?
17 Assim, toda a árvore boa produz bons frutos, e toda a árvore má produz frutos maus.
So every good tree beareth good fruits; but every bad tree in kind, produceth bad fruits.
18 Não pode a árvore boa dar maus frutos; nem a árvore má dar frutos bons.
A good tree cannot produce bad fruits, neither can a tree bad in kind produce good fruits.
19 Toda a árvore que não dá bom fruto corta-se e lança-se no fogo.
Every tree that beareth not good fruit, is cut down, and cast into the fire.
20 E, assim, pelos seus frutos os conhecereis.
Well then! by their fruits ye shall know them.
21 Nem todo o que me diz: Senhor, Senhor! entrará no reino dos céus, mas aquele que faz a vontade de meu Pai, que está nos céus.
Not every one who saith to me, Lord, Lord! shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven.
22 Muitos me dirão naquele dia: Senhor, Senhor, não profetizamos nós em teu nome? e em teu nome não expulsamos demônios? e em teu nome não fizemos muitas maravilhas?
Many will say unto me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have we not cast out devils? and in thy name done many miracles?
23 E então lhes direi abertamente: Nunca vos conheci: apartai-vos de mim, vós que obrais a iniquidade.
And then will I profess unto them, that I never knew you: depart from me, ye workers of iniquity.
24 Todo aquele, pois, que escuta estas minhas palavras e as pratica, assemelha-lo-ei ao homem prudente, que edificou a sua casa sobre a rocha;
Every man therefore who is hearing from me these words, and puts them in practice, I will compare him to the intelligent man, who erected his house upon a rock:
25 E desceu a chuva, e correram rios, e assopraram ventos, e combateram aquela casa, e não caiu, porque estava edificada sobre a rocha.
and the rain descended, and the rivers rushed, and the winds blew, and they beat against that house, and it fell not; for it was founded on a rock.
26 E aquele que ouve estas minhas palavras, e as não executa, compara-lo-ei ao homem insensato, que edificou a sua casa sobre a areia;
And every man who is hearing these sayings of mine, and doth not practise them, he will resemble the foolish man, who built his house upon the sand:
27 E desceu a chuva, e correram rios, e assopraram ventos, e combateram aquela casa, e caiu, e foi grande a sua queda.
and the rain descended, and the rivers rushed, and the winds blew, and set against that house, and it fell; and the fall of it was great.
28 E aconteceu que, concluindo Jesus este discurso, a multidão se admirou da sua doutrina,
And it was so, that when Jesus had concluded all these sayings, the multitudes were exceedingly struck with his teaching:
29 Porque os ensinava como tendo autoridade; e não como os escribas.
for he taught them as having authority, and not as the scribes.
