Mateus 26
1 E aconteceu que, quando Jesus concluiu todos estes discursos, disse aos seus discípulos:
When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said to his disciples,
2 Bem sabeis que daqui a dois dias é a pascoa; e o Filho do homem será entregue para ser crucificado.
“You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be delivered up to be crucified.”
3 Então os príncipes dos sacerdotes, e os escribas, e os anciãos do povo reuniram-se na sala do sumo sacerdote, o qual se chamava Caiphas,
Then the chief priests, the scribes, and the elders of the people were gathered together in the courtyard of the high priest, whose name was Caiaphas,
4 E consultaram-se juntamente para prenderem Jesus com dolo e o matarem.
and they plotted together to arrest Jesus secretly and kill him.
5 Porém diziam: Não durante a festa, para que não haja alvoroço entre o povo.
But they said, “Not during the feast, lest there be a riot among the people.”
6 E, estando Jesus em Bethania, em casa de Simão, o leproso,
Now when Jesus was in Bethany, in the house of Simon the leper,
7 Aproximou-se dele uma mulher com um vaso de alabastro, com unguênto de grande valor, e derramou-lho sobre a cabeça, estando ele assentado à mesa.
a woman came to him with an alabaster jar of very expensive ointment, and she poured it on his head as he reclined at the table.
8 E os seus discípulos, vendo isto, indignaram-se, dizendo: Porque se faz este desperdício?
When his disciples saw it, they were indignant and said, “Why this waste?
9 Pois este unguênto podia vender-se por grande preço, e dar-se o dinheiro aos pobres.
This ointment could have been sold for a large sum, and the money could have been given to the poor.”
10 Jesus, porém, conhecendo isto, disse-lhes: Porque afligis esta mulher? pois praticou uma boa ação para comigo.
Aware of this, Jesus said to them, “Why are you causing trouble for this woman? She has done a good deed to me.
11 Porquanto sempre tendes convosco os pobres, mas a mim não me haveis de ter sempre.
You always have the poor with you, but you will not always have me.
12 Ora, derramando ela este unguênto sobre o meu corpo, fê-lo preparando-me para o meu enterramento.
She has put this ointment on my body to prepare me for burial.
13 Em verdade vos digo que, onde quer que este Evangelho for pregado, em todo o mundo, também será dito o que ela fez, para memória sua.
Truly I say to you, wherever this gospel is preached in the whole world, what this woman has done will also be spoken of as a memorial to her.”
14 Então um dos doze chamado Judas Iscariotes, foi ter com os príncipes dos sacerdotes,
Then one of the twelve, the one called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests
15 E disse: Que me quereis dar, e eu vo-lo entregarei? E eles lhe arbitraram trinta moedas de prata,
and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver him up to you?” So they set out for him thirty pieces of silver.
16 E desde então buscava oportunidade para o entregar.
And from then on he was looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.
17 E, no primeiro dia da festa dos pães asmos, chegaram os discípulos junto de Jesus, dizendo: Onde queres que te preparemos o necessário para comer a pascoa?
On the first day of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the disciples came to Jesus and said to him, “Where do yoʋ want us to make preparations for yoʋ to eat the Passover?”
18 E ele disse: Ide à cidade a um certo homem, e dizei-lhe: O Mestre diz: O meu tempo está próximo; em tua casa celebro a pascoa com os meus discípulos.
He said, “Go into the city to a certain man and say to him, ‘The Teacher says, “My time is near. I am going to keep the Passover with yoʋ, along with my disciples.”’”
19 E os discípulos fizeram como Jesus lhes ordenara, e prepararam a pascoa.
So the disciples did as Jesus had directed them and prepared the Passover.
20 E, chegada a tarde, assentou-se à mesa com os doze.
When evening came, Jesus was reclining at the table with the twelve.
21 E, comendo eles, disse: Em verdade vos digo que um de vós me há de trair.
As they were eating, he said, “Truly I say to you, one of you will betray me.”
22 E eles, entristecendo-se muito, começaram cada um a dizer-lhe: Porventura sou eu, Senhor?
Greatly distressed, they began to say to him one after another, “Surely not I, Lord?”
23 E ele, respondendo, disse: O que mete a mão no prato comigo, esse me há de trair.
Jesus answered, “The one who has dipped his hand with me into the dish will betray me.
24 Em verdade o Filho do homem vai, como acerca dele está escrito, mas ai daquele homem por quem o Filho do homem é traido! bom seria a esse homem se não houvera nascido.
The Son of Man indeed goes just as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.”
25 E, respondendo Judas, o que o traia, disse: Porventura sou eu, rabi? ele disse: Tu o disseste.
Then Judas, who betrayed him, replied, “Surely not I, Rabbi?” Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself.”
26 E, quando comiam, Jesus tomou o pão, e, abençoando-o, o partiu, e o deu aos discípulos, e disse: tomai, comei, isto é o meu corpo.
As they were eating, Jesus took the bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take and eat this bread; this is my body.”
27 E, tomando o cálice, e dando graças, deu-lho, dizendo: Bebei dele todos;
Then he took the cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you,
28 Porque isto é o meu sangue, o sangue do Novo Testamento, que é derramado por muitos, para remissão dos pecados.
for this is my blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the remission of sins.
29 E digo-vos que, desde agora, não beberei deste fruto da vide até àquele dia em que o beber de novo convosco no reino de meu pai.
But I tell you, from this point forward I will certainly not drink again from this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it with you anew in the kingdom of my Father.”
30 E, tendo cantado o hino, sairam para o monte das Oliveiras.
And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
31 Então Jesus lhes disse: Todos vós esta noite vos escandalizareis em mim; porque está escrito: Ferirei o pastor, e as ovelhas do rebanho se dispersarão.
Then Jesus said to them, “All of you will fall away because of me this night. For it is written, ‘I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.’
32 Mas, depois de eu resuscitar, irei adiante de vós para a Galiléia.
But after I have been raised up, I will go ahead of you to Galilee.”
33 Pedro, porém, respondendo, disse-lhe: Ainda que todos se escandalizem em ti, eu nunca me escandalizarei.
Peter answered him, “Even if everyone else falls away because of yoʋ, I will never fall away.”
34 Disse-lhe Jesus: Em verdade te digo que, nesta mesma noite, antes que o galo cante, três vezes me negarás.
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to yoʋ that on this night, before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.”
35 Disse-lhe Pedro: Ainda que me seja míster morrer contigo, não te negarei. E o mesmo todos os discípulos disseram.
But Peter said to him, “Even if I must die with yoʋ, I will certainly not deny yoʋ.” And all the disciples said the same thing.
36 Então chegou Jesus com eles a um lugar chamado Gethsemane, e disse aos discípulos: assentai-vos aqui, enquanto vou além, a orar.
Then Jesus went with them to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to the disciples, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.”
37 E, levando consigo Pedro e os dois filhos de Zebedeo, começou a entristecer-se e a angustiar-se muito.
And taking with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and distressed.
38 Então lhes disse: A minha alma está cheia de tristeza até à morte; ficai aqui, e velai comigo.
Then Jesus said to them, “My soul is very sorrowful, even to the point of death; stay here and keep watch with me.”
39 E, indo um pouco mais para diante, prostrou-se sobre o seu rosto, orando e dizendo: Meu Pai, se é possível, passe de mim este cálice; porém, não como eu quero, mas como tu queres.
And going a little farther, he fell on his face and prayed, “My Father, if possible, let this cup pass from me; nevertheless, not as I will, but as yoʋ will.”
40 E voltou para os seus discípulos, e achou-os adormecidos; e disse a Pedro: Então nem uma hora pudeste velar comigo?
Then he came to the disciples and found them sleeping, and said to Peter, “So you could not keep watch with me for one hour?
41 Vigiai e orai, para que não entreis em tentação: na verdade, o espírito está pronto, mas a carne é fraca.
Keep watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 E, indo segunda vez, orou, dizendo: Meu Pai, se este cálice não pode passar de mim sem eu o beber, faça-se a tua vontade.
Again, he went away for a second time and prayed, “My Father, if this cup cannot pass from me unless I drink it, may yoʋr will be done.”
43 E, voltando, achou-os outra vez adormecidos; porque os seus olhos estavam carregados.
Then he came and found them sleeping again, for their eyes were heavy.
44 E, deixando-os, voltou, e orou terceira vez, dizendo as mesmas palavras.
So he left them and went away again and prayed for a third time, saying the same thing.
45 Então chegou junto dos seus discípulos, e disse-lhes: Dormi agora, e repousai; eis que é chegada a hora, e o Filho do homem será entregue nas mãos dos pecadores.
Then he came to his disciples and said to them, “Sleep on now and take your rest! Behold, the hour has drawn near, and the Son of Man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.
46 Levantai-vos, partamos; eis que é chegado o que me trai.
Rise, let us go. Behold, my betrayer has drawn near.”
47 E, estando ele ainda a falar, eis que chegou Judas, um dos doze, e com ele uma grande multidão com espadas e varapaus, enviada pelos príncipes dos sacerdotes e pelos anciãos do povo.
While he was still speaking, behold, Judas, one of the twelve, came. With him was a large crowd with swords and clubs, sent from the chief priests and elders of the people.
48 E o que o traia tinha-lhes dado sinal, dizendo: O que eu beijar é ele; prendei-o.
Now his betrayer had given them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, he is the one; arrest him.”
49 E logo, aproximando-se de Jesus, disse: Eu te saúdo rabi. E beijou-o.
Immediately he went up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” And he kissed him.
50 Jesus, porém, lhe disse: Amigo, a que vieste? Então, aproximando-se, lançaram mão de Jesus, e prenderam-no.
Jesus said to him, “Friend, why have yoʋ come?” Then they came forward, took hold of Jesus, and arrested him.
51 E eis que um dos que estavam com Jesus, estendendo a mão, puxou da espada e, ferindo o servo do sumo sacerdote, cortou-lhe uma orelha.
And behold, one of the men with Jesus stretched out his hand, drew his sword, and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.
52 Então Jesus disse-lhe: mete no seu lugar a tua espada; porque todos os que lançarem mão da espada à espada morrerão.
Then Jesus said to him, “Put yoʋr sword back in its place, for all who take the sword will die by the sword.
53 Ou pensas tu que não poderia eu agora orar a meu pai, e ele não me daria mais de doze legiões de anjos?
Or do yoʋ think that I cannot call on my Father right now, and he will provide me with more than twelve legions of angels?
54 Como pois se cumpririam as escrituras, que dizem que assim convém que aconteça?
How then would the Scriptures be fulfilled that say it must happen this way?”
55 Então disse Jesus à multidão: saístes, como a um salteador, com espadas e varapaus para me prender? todos os dias me assentava junto de vós, ensinando no templo, e não me prendestes.
In that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out to arrest me with swords and clubs as you would against a robber? I sat daily with you, teaching in the temple courts, and you did not arrest me.
56 Mas tudo isto aconteceu para que se cumpram as escrituras dos profetas. Então todos os discípulos, deixando-o, fugiram.
But all this has taken place so that the Scriptures of the prophets would be fulfilled.” Then all the disciples left him and fled.
57 E, os que prenderam a Jesus, o conduziram ao sumo sacerdote, Caiphas, onde os escribas e os anciãos estavam reunidos.
Now those who had arrested Jesus led him away to Caiaphas the high priest, where the scribes and the elders were assembled.
58 E Pedro o seguiu de longe até ao pátio do sumo sacerdote: e, entrando dentro, assentou-se entre os criados, para ver o fim.
But Peter was following him at a distance, coming as far as the courtyard of the high priest. After going inside, he sat with the officers to see the outcome.
59 E os príncipes dos sacerdotes, e os anciãos, e todo o conselho, buscavam falso testemunho contra Jesus, para o poderem matar,
Now the chief priests, the elders, and the whole Sanhedrin were seeking false testimony against Jesus, so that they could put him to death,
60 Mas não o achavam, apesar de se apresentarem muitas testemunhas falsas; mas por fim chegaram duas falsas testemunhas,
but they did not find any. Even though many false witnesses came forward, they did not find any.
61 E disseram: Este disse: Eu posso derribar o templo de Deus, e reedificá-lo em três dias.
But at last two false witnesses came forward and declared, “This man said, ‘I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.’”
62 E, levantando-se o sumo sacerdote, disse-lhe: Não respondes coisa alguma ao que estes depõem contra ti?
So the high priest stood up and said to him, “Do yoʋ make no answer? What are these men testifying against yoʋ?”
63 Jesus, porém, guardava silêncio. E, insistindo o sumo sacerdote, disse-lhe: Conjuro-te pelo Deus vivo que nos digas se tu és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus.
But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, “I adjure yoʋ by the living God to tell us if yoʋ are the Christ, the Son of God.”
64 Disse-lhe Jesus: Tu o disseste; digo-vos, porém, que vereis em breve o Filho do homem assentado à direita da magestade divina, e vindo sobre as nuvens do céu.
Jesus said to him, “Yoʋ have said it yoʋrself. Nevertheless I say to you, from now on you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of heaven.”
65 Então o sumo sacerdote rasgou os seus vestidos, dizendo: blasfemou; para que precisamos ainda de testemunhas? Eis que bem ouvistes agora a sua blasfêmia.
Then the high priest tore his garments and said, “He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Behold, you have now heard his blasphemy.
66 Que vos parece? E eles, respondendo, disseram: E réu de morte.
What do you think?” They answered, “He deserves death.”
67 Então cuspiram-lhe no rosto; e uns lhe davam punhadas, e outros o esbofeteavam,
Then they spit in his face and struck him. Others slapped him,
68 Dizendo: profetiza-nos, Cristo, quem é o que te bateu?
saying, “Prophesy to us, yoʋ Christ! Who is it that struck yoʋ?”
69 E Pedro estava assentado fora, no pátio, e aproximou-se dele uma criada, dizendo: Tu também estavas com Jesus, o galileu.
Now Peter was sitting outside in the courtyard, and a servant girl came to him and said, “Yoʋ also were with Jesus the Galilean.”
70 Mas ele negou diante de todos, dizendo: Não sei o que dizes.
But he denied it before them all, saying, “I do not know what yoʋ are talking about!”
71 E, saindo para o vestíbulo, viu-o outra, e disse aos que ali estavam: Este também estava com Jesus, o nazareno.
Then he went out to the gateway, and another servant girl saw him and said to the people there, “This man also was with Jesus of Nazareth.”
72 E ele negou outra vez com juramento, dizendo: Não conheço tal homem.
But again he denied it with an oath: “I do not know the man.”
73 E, daí a pouco, aproximando-se os que ali estavam, disseram a Pedro: Verdadeiramente também tu és um deles, pois a tua fala te denúncia.
After a little while, the people standing there came up and said to Peter, “Truly yoʋ also are one of them, for even yoʋr accent gives yoʋ away.”
74 Então começou ele a imprecar e a jurar, dizendo: Não conheço esse homem. E imediatamente o galo cantou.
Then he began to invoke curses and to swear, saying, “I do not know the man.” And immediately a rooster crowed.
75 E lembrou-se Pedro das palavras de Jesus, que lhe dissera: Antes que o galo cante, três vezes me negarás. E, saindo dali, chorou amargamente.
Then Peter remembered what Jesus had said to him: “Before a rooster crows, yoʋ will deny me three times.” And he went out and wept bitterly.
