Mateus 16
1 E, chegando-se os fariseus e os saduceus, e tentando-o, pediram-lhe que lhes mostrasse algum sinal do céu.
AND the Pharisees and the Sadducees came to him, and, to make trial of him, desired him to shew them a sign from heaven.
2 Mas ele, respondendo, disse-lhes: Quando é chegada a tarde, dizeis: Haverá bom tempo, porque o céu está rubro.
And he answering, said unto them, When evening comes, ye say, Fair weather, for the sky is red.
3 E pela manhã: Hoje haverá tempestade, porque o céu está de um vermelho sombrio. hipócritas, sabeis diferenciar a face do céu, e não sabeis diferenciar os sinais dos tempos?
And in the morning, It will be tempestuous to-day, for the sky is gloomy and fiery red. Ye hypocrites, do ye know how to discern the appearance of the sky, and are ye unable to discern the signs of the times?
4 Uma geração má e adúltera pede um sinal, e nenhum sinal lhe será dado, senão o sinal do profeta Jonas. E, deixando-os, retirou-se.
A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh a sign; and no sign shall be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonah. And he left them, and departed.
5 E, passando seus discípulos para a outra banda, tinham-se esquecido de fornecer-se de pão.
And when his disciples were come to the other side, they had forgotten to take bread.
6 E Jesus disse-lhes: Adverti, e acautelai-vos do fermento dos fariseus e saduceus.
Then Jesus said to them, Beware and abstain from the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
7 E eles arrazoavam entre si, dizendo: É porque não nos fornecemos de pão.
So they reasoned among themselves, saying, It is because we have not taken bread.
8 E Jesus, conhecendo-o, disse: Porque arrazoais entre vós, homens de pouca fé, sobre o não vos terdes fornecido de pão?
But when Jesus knew it, he said unto them, Why are ye reasoning among yourselves, O ye of little faith, because ye have not taken bread?
9 Não compreendeis ainda, nem vos lembrais dos cinco pães para cinco mil homens, e de quantas alcofas levantastes?
Do you not consider, nor remember the five loaves among the five thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
10 Nem dos sete pães para quatro mil, e de quantos cestos levantastes?
Nor the seven loaves among the four thousand, and how many baskets ye took up?
11 Como não entendestes que não vos falei a respeito do pão, mas que vos guardasseis do fermento dos fariseus e saduceus?
How is it that ye do not understand, that I spake not to you of bread, to beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees?
12 Então compreenderam que não dissera que se guardassem do fermento do pão, mas da doutrina dos fariseus.
Then understood they, that he spake about abstaining not from the leaven in the bread, but from the doctrine of the Pharisees and the Sadducees.
13 E, chegando Jesus às partes de Cesareia de Filipo, interrogou os seus discípulos, dizendo: Quem dizem os homens ser o Filho do homem?
Then Jesus coming into the parts of Caesarea Philippi, questioned his disciples, saying, Who do men say that I am? The Son of Man?
14 E eles disseram: Uns João Batista, outros Elias, e outros Jeremias ou um dos profetas.
But they replied, Some, that thou art John the Baptist; but others, Elias; and others again, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
15 Disse-lhes ele: E vós, quem dizeis que eu sou?
He saith unto them, But who do ye say that I am?
16 E Simão Pedro, respondendo, disse: Tu és o Cristo, o Filho de Deus vivo.
Then Simon Peter answering said, Thou art the Messiah, the Son of the living God.
17 E Jesus, respondendo, disse-lhe: bem-aventurado és tu, Simão Barjonas, porque to não revelou a carne e o sangue, mas meu Pai, que está nos céus.
And Jesus replying, said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona; for flesh and blood hath not revealed this to thee, but my Father, who is in heaven.
18 E também eu te digo que tu és Pedro, e sobre esta pedra edificarei a minha igreja, e as portas do inferno não prevalecerão contra ela: (Hadēs g86)
And I tell thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock will I build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. (Hadēs g86)
19 E eu te darei as chaves do reino dos céus; e tudo o que ligares na terra será ligado nos céus, e tudo o que desligares na terra será desligado nos céus.
And I will give thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
20 Então mandou aos seus discípulos que a ninguém dissessem que ele era Jesus o Cristo.
Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Messiah.
21 Desde então começou Jesus a mostrar aos seus discípulos que convinha ir a Jerusalém, e padecer muito dos anciãos, e dos principais dos sacerdotes, e dos escribas, e ser morto, e resuscitar ao terceiro dia.
From that time Jesus began to shew his disciples, that he must go to Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders, and of the chief-priests, and of the scribes, and be put to death, and the third day rise again.
22 E Pedro, tomando-o de parte, começou a repreende-lo, dizendo: Senhor, tem compaixão de ti; de modo nenhum te aconteça isso.
And Peter taking him aside, began to chide him, saying, Mercy on thee, Lord! this shall never be thy case.
23 Ele, porém, voltando-se, disse a Pedro: Arreda-te de diante de mim, Satanás, que me serves de escândalo; porque não compreendes as coisas que são de Deus, mas só as que são dos homens.
Then turning from him, he said unto Peter, Get thee behind me Satan! thou art an offence to me: for thou dost not relish the things of God, but those of men.
24 Então disse Jesus aos seus discípulos: Se alguém quizer vir após mim, renuncie-se a si mesmo, tome sobre si a sua cruz, e siga-me;
Then said Jesus to his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
25 Porque aquele que quizer salvar a sua vida, perde-la-á, e quem perder a sua vida por amor de mim, acha-la-á.
For whosoever is desirous to preserve his life, shall lose it; but whosoever would lose his life for my sake, shall find it.
26 Pois que aproveita ao homem, se ganhar o mundo inteiro, e perder a sua alma? ou que dará o homem em recompensa da sua alma?
For what would a man be advantaged, though he could gain the whole world, if he should suffer the loss of his soul? or what will a man give as the ransom for his soul?
27 Porque o Filho do homem virá na glória de seu Pai, com os seus anjos; e então dará a cada um segundo as suas obras.
For the Son of man shall hereafter come in the glory of his Father, with his angels, and then shall he recompense every man according to his practice.
28 Em verdade vos digo que alguns há, dos que aqui estão, que não gostarão a morte até que vejam vir o Filho do homem no seu reino.
Verily I say unto you, There are some of those standing here, who shall in no wise taste of death, until they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
