Malaquias 3

1 Eis que eu envio o meu anjo, que aparelhará o caminho diante de mim; e de repente virá ao seu templo o Senhor, a quem vós buscais, e o anjo do concerto, a quem vós desejais; eis aqui que vem, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the LORD, whom ye seek, will suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he will come, saith the LORD of hosts.

2 Mas quem suportará o dia da sua vinda? e quem subsistirá, quando ele aparecer? porque ele será como o fogo do ourives e como o sabão dos lavandeiros.

But who may abide the day of his coming? and who shall stand when he appeareth? for he [is] like a refiner's fire, and like fuller's soap.

3 E assentar-se-á, afinando e purificando a prata; e purgará os filhos de Levi, e os afinará como ouro e como prata: então ao Senhor trarão oferta em justiça.

And he shall sit [as] a refiner and purifier of silver: and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer to the LORD an offering in righteousness.

4 E a oferta de Judá e de Jerusalém será suave ao Senhor, como nos dias antigos, e como nos primeiros.

Then shall the offering of Judah and Jerusalem be pleasant to the LORD, as in the days of old, and as in former years.

5 E chegar-me-ei a vós para juízo, e serei uma testemunha veloz contra os feiticeiros e contra os adúlteros, e contra os que juram falsamente, e contra os que defraudam o jornaleiro em seu jornal, e a viúva, e o órfão, que pervertem o direito do estrangeiro, e não me temem, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

And I will come near to you to judgment; and I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, and against the adulterers, and against false swearers, and against those that oppress the hireling in [his] wages, the widow, and the fatherless, and that turn aside the stranger [from his right], and fear not me, saith the LORD of hosts.

6 Porque eu, o Senhor, não mudo; por isso vós, ó filhos de Jacob, não sois consumidos.

For I [am] the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

7 Desde os dias de vossos pais vos desviastes dos meus estatutos, e não os guardastes: tornai a mim, e eu tornarei a vós, diz o Senhor dos exércitos; mas vós dizeis: Em que havemos de tornar?

Even from the days of your fathers ye have gone away from my ordinances, and have not kept [them]. Return to me, and I will return to you, saith the LORD of hosts. But ye said, In what shall we return?

8 Roubará o homem a Deus? porque vós me roubais, e dizeis: Em que te roubamos? nos dízimos e nas ofertas alçadas.

Will a man rob God? yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, In what have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9 Com maldição sois malditos, porque me roubais a mim, sim, toda a nação.

Ye [are] cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, [even] this whole nation.

10 Trazei todos os dízimos à casa do tesouro, para que haja mantimento na minha casa, e provai-me nisto, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, se eu então não vos abrirei as janelas do céu, e não vasarei sobre vós uma benção até que não caiba mais.

Bring ye all the tithes into the store-house, that there may be food in my house, and prove me now with this, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].

11 E por causa de vós repreenderei o devorador, para que não vos corrompa o fruto da terra; e a vide no campo vos não será estéril, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the LORD of hosts.

12 E todas as nações vos chamarão bem-aventurados; porque vós sereis uma terra deleitosa, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the LORD of hosts.

13 As vossas palavras prevaleceram contra mim, diz o Senhor; mas vós dizeis: Que temos falado contra ti?

Your words have been stout against me, saith the LORD. Yet ye say, What have we spoken [so much] against thee?

14 Vós dizeis: Debalde é servir a Deus: que nos aproveita termos guardado os seus preceitos, e andarmos vestidos de preto diante do Senhor dos exércitos?

Ye have said, It [is] vain to serve God: and what profit [is it] that we have kept his ordinance, and that we have walked mournfully before the LORD of hosts?

15 Ora pois, nós reputamos por bem-aventurados os soberbos: também os que obram impiedade se edificam; também tentam ao Senhor, e escapam.

And now we call the proud happy; yes, they that work wickedness are set up; even [they that] tempt God are delivered.

16 Então aqueles que temem ao Senhor falam cada um com o seu companheiro; e o Senhor atenta e ouve; e há um memorial escrito diante dele, para os que temem o Senhor, e para os que se lembram do seu nome.

Then they that feared the LORD spoke often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard [it], and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

17 E eles serão meus, diz o Senhor dos exércitos, naquele dia que farei me serão propriedade; poupa-los-ei, como um homem poupa a seu filho, que o serve.

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

18 Então tornareis e vereis a diferença entre o justo e o ímpio; entre o que serve a Deus, e o que não o serve.

Then shall ye return and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.
