Lucas 12
1 Ajuntando-se entretanto muitos milhares de pessoas, de sorte que se atropelavam uns aos outros, começou a dizer aos seus discípulos: acautelai-vos primeiramente do fermento dos fariseus, que é a hipocrisia.
In the mean time great multitudes of people being gathered together about Him, so that they trode upon one another, He began to say to his disciples, Beware of the leaven of the pharisees, which is hypocrisy: for there is nothing concealed,
2 Mas nada há encoberto que não haja de ser descoberto; nem oculto, que não haja de ser sabido.
which shall not be discovered; nor hidden which shall not be known.
3 Porquanto tudo o que em trevas dissestes à luz será ouvido; e o que falastes ao ouvido no gabinete sobre os telhados será apregoado.
Therefore whatsoever ye have said in darkness shall be heard in the light: and what ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed on the house-tops.
4 E digo-vos, amigos meus; Não temais os que matam o corpo, e depois não tem mais que fazer.
Now I say unto you, my friends, Be not afraid of them, that can only kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do.
5 Mas eu vos mostrarei a quem deveis temer; temei aquele que, depois de matar, tem poder para lançar no inferno; sim, vos digo, a esse temei. (Geenna g1067)
But I will shew you whom ye should fear, ---Fear Him, who after He hath killed, hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, fear Him. (Geenna g1067)
6 Não se vendem cinco passarinhos por dois ceitis? E nenhum deles está esquecido diante de Deus.
Are not five sparrows sold for two assaries, and not one of them is forgotten before God.
7 E até os cabelos da vossa cabeça estão todos contados. Não temais pois; mais valeis vós do que muitos passarinhos.
Nay the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Be not therefore afraid; ye are of more worth than many sparrows.
8 E digo-vos que todo aquele que me confessar diante dos homens, também o Filho do homem o confessará diante dos anjos de Deus.
But I say unto you, Whosoever shall own me before men, the Son of man will also own him before the angels of God.
9 Mas quem me negar diante dos homens será negado diante dos anjos de Deus.
But he, that disowneth me before men, shall be disowned before the angels of God.
10 E a todo aquele que disser uma palavra contra o Filho do homem ser-lhe-á perdoada, mas ao que blasfemar contra o Espírito Santo não lhe será perdoado.
And whosoever shall speak a word against the Son of man, it may be forgiven him; but unto him, that blasphemeth the holy Spirit, it shall not be forgiven.
11 E, quando vos conduzirem às sinagogas, aos magistrados e potestades, não estejais solicitos de como ou do que haveis de responder nem do que haveis de falar.
And when they bring you before the synagogues, and magistrates, and powers, be not solicitous how or what defence to make, or what to say:
12 Porque na mesma hora vos ensinará o Espírito Santo o que vos convenha falar.
for the holy Spirit shall teach you at that very time what ye ought to say.
13 E disse-lhe um da multidão: Mestre, dize a meu irmão que reparta comigo a herança.
And one among the multitude said to Him, Master, speak to my brother to divide the inheritance with me: but He said unto him,
14 Mas ele lhe disse: Homem, quem me pôs a mim por juiz ou repartidor entre vós?
Man, who set me over you as a judge or divider?
15 E disse-lhes: acautelai-vos e guardai-vos da avareza; porque a vida de qualquer não consiste na abundância dos bens que possui.
And He said unto them, See to it that ye beware of covetousness; for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of his possessions.
16 E propos-lhes uma parábola, dizendo: A herdade dum homem rico tinha produzido com abundância;
And He spake a parable to them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:
17 E arrazoava ele entre si, dizendo: Que farei? Não tenho onde recolher os meus frutos.
and he reasoned within himself, saying, What shall I do? for I have not room to lay up my corn.
18 E disse: Farei isto: Derribarei os meus celeiros, e edificarei outros maiores, e ali recolherei todas as minhas novidades e os meus bens;
And he said, This I will do: I will pull down my barns, and build larger ones; and there I will bestow all my products and my goods.
19 E direi à minha alma: Alma, tens em depósito muitos bens para muitos anos: descança, come, bebe, e folga.
And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast plenty of goods laid up for many years, take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.
20 Porém Deus lhe disse: Louco, esta noite te pedirão a tua alma; e o que tens preparado para quem será?
But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night shall thy soul be required of thee; then whose shall those things be which thou hast provided?
21 Assim é o que para si ajunta tesouros, e não é rico para com Deus.
So is he that heapeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich towards God.
22 E disse aos seus discípulos: Portanto vos digo: Não estejais solicitos pela vossa vida, no que comereis, nem pelo corpo, no que vestireis.
And He said to his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, be not anxious for your life, what ye shall eat; nor for the body, what ye shall put on:
23 Mais é a vida do que o sustento, e o corpo mais do que o vestido.
the life is more than food, and the body than raiment.
24 Considerai os corvos, que nem semeiam, nem segam, nem tem dispensa nem celeiro, e Deus os alimenta: quanto mais valeis vós do que as aves?
Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap; they have neither store-house nor barn, and yet God feedeth them: how much more worth are ye than the fowls?
25 E qual de vós, sendo solícito, pode acrescentar um côvado à sua estatura?
And which of you by all his thought can add one moment to his life?
26 Pois, se nem ainda podeis fazer as coisas mínimas, porque estais solicitos pelo mais?
If then ye cannot do even the lest, why are ye so anxious about the rest?
27 Considerai os lírios, como eles crescem; não trabalham, nem fiam; e digo-vos que nem ainda Salomão, em toda a sua glória, se vestiu como um deles.
Consider the lilies, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I tell you, that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
28 E, se Deus assim veste a erva que hoje está no campo, e amanhã é lançada no forno, quanto mais a vós, homens de pouca fé?
Now if God so clothe the grass which is to day in the field, and to-morrow is cast into the furnace, how much more will He clothe you, O ye of little faith?
29 Vós pois não pergunteis que haveis de comer, ou que haveis de beber, e não andeis inquietos.
And seek ye not what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; neither be ye in careful suspense:
30 Porque as gentes do mundo buscam todas essas coisas; mas vosso Pai sabe que haveis míster delas.
for all these things the nations of the world seek after; but your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
31 Buscai antes o reino de Deus, e todas estas coisas vos serão acrescentadas.
Seek ye therefore the kingdom of God, and all these shall be super-added unto you.
32 Não temas, ó pequeno rebanho, porque a vosso Pai agradou dar-vos o reino.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's pleasure to give you the kingdom.
33 Vendei o que tendes, e dai esmola. Fazei para vós bolsas que não se envelheçam; tesouro nos céus que nunca acabe, aonde não chega ladrão, e a traça não roi.
Sell what ye have, and give alms: provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a never-failing treasure in the heavens, where no thief approacheth nor moth corrupteth:
34 Porque, onde estiver o vosso tesouro, ali estará também o vosso coração.
for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
35 Estejam cingidos os vossos lombos, e acesas as vossas candeias.
Let your loins be girt, and your lights burning, and
36 E sede vós semelhantes aos homens que esperam a seu senhor, quando houver de voltar das bodas, para que, quando vier, e bater, logo possam abrir-lhe.
ye yourselves like men waiting for their lord's return from a wedding, that they may immediately open the door to him, when he comes and knocks.
37 Bem-aventurados aqueles servos, os quais, quando o Senhor vier, os achar vigiando! Em verdade vos digo que se cingirá, e os fará assentar à mesa, e, chegando-se, os servirá.
Happy are those servants, whom the master when he cometh shall find watching: verily I say unto you, that he will gird himself, and make them sit down, and will come and serve them.
38 E, se vier na segunda vigília, e se vier na terceira vigília, e os achar assim, bem-aventurados são os tais servos.
And if he come in the second watch, or in the third watch, and find them so, happy indeed are those servants.
39 Sabei, porém, isto, que, se o Pai de família soubesse a que hora, havia de vir o ladrão, vigiaria, e não deixaria minar a sua casa.
And this ye know, that if the master of a house had known at what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and not have suffered his house to be broke open:
40 Portanto, estai vós também apercebidos; porque virá o Filho do homem a hora que não imaginais.
therefore be ye also ready; for the Son of man cometh at a season that ye think not of.
41 E disse-lhe Pedro: Senhor, dizes essa parábola a nós, ou também a todos?
Then said Peter unto Him, Lord, dost thou speak this parable to us only, or to all others likewise?
42 E disse o Senhor: Qual é pois o mordomo fiel e prudente, a quem o senhor pôs sobre os seus servos, para lhes dar a tempo a ração?
And the Lord said, Who is indeed that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will set over his family to give out the measure of food in due season?
43 Bem-aventurado aquele servo, o qual o senhor, quando vier, achar fazendo assim.
Happy is that servant, whom his lord, when he cometh, shall find so doing.
44 Em verdade vos digo que sobre todos os seus bens o porá.
Verily I tell you, that he will set him over all that he hath.
45 Mas, se aquele servo disser em seu coração: O meu senhor tarda em vir; e começar a espancar os criados e criadas, e a comer, e a beber, e a embriagar-se,
But if that servant say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming; and begin to beat the men and maid-servants, and drink, and to be drunken:
46 Virá o senhor daquele servo no dia em que o não espera, e numa hora que ele não sabe, e separá-lo-a, e porá a sua parte com os infieis.
the lord of that servant will come on a day in which he does not expect him, and at a time which he is not aware of; and will cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the unfaithful.
47 E o servo que soube a vontade do seu senhor, e não se apercebeu, nem fez conforme a sua vontade, será castigado com muitos açoites;
And that servant, who knew his master's will, and did not prepare himself to do according to his will, shall be beaten with many stripes;
48 Mas o que a não soube, e fez coisas dignas de açoites, com poucos açoites será castigado. E, a qualquer que muito for dado, muito se lhe pedirá, e ao que muito se lhe confiou muito mais se lhe pedirá.
but he that knew it not, and did things deserving stripes, shall be beaten with few: for to whomsoever much is given, of him will much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will demand the more.
49 Vim lançar fogo na terra; e que quero, se já está aceso?
I am come to send fire on the earth, and how do I desire that it were already kindled?
50 Importa, porém, que seja batizado com um batismo; e como me angustio até que venha a cumprir-se!
for I have a baptism to be baptized with, and how I am straitened till it be accomplished?
51 Cuidais vós que vim dar paz à terra? Não, vos digo, mas antes dissensão;
Do ye think that I am come to give peace on the earth? I tell you, nay; but rather division.
52 Porque daqui em diante estarão cinco divididos numa casa: três contra dois, e dois contra três:
For from this time there shall be five in one family divided, three against two and two against three:
53 O pai estará dividido contra o filho, e o filho contra o pai; a mãe contra a filha, e a filha contra a mãe; a sogra contra sua nora, e a nora contra sua sogra.
the father will be against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother-in-law against her daughter-in-law, and the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law.
54 E dizia também à multidão: Quando vêdes a nuvem que vem do ocidente, logo dizeis: Lá vem chuva, e assim sucede.
He said also to the people, When ye see a cloud rising from the west, ye presently say, there is a shower coming, and so it proves:
55 E, quando assopra o sul, dizeis: Haverá calma; e assim sucede.
and when ye observe the south-wind blowing, ye say there will be heat, and it cometh to pass.
56 Hipócritas, sabeis distinguir a face da terra e do céu, e como não distinguis este tempo?
Ye hypocrites, ye know how to discern the face of the earth and of the heavens, and why do ye not discern the present time?
57 E porque não julgais também por vós mesmos o que é justo?
and why do ye not even of yourselves judge what is right?
58 Quando pois vais com o teu adversário ao magistrado, procura livrar-te dele no caminho; para que não suceda que te conduza ao juiz, e o juiz te entregue ao meirinho, e o meirinho te encerre na prisão.
When thou art going with thine adversary to the magistrate, endeavour while thou art in the way to be discharged, least he force thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and the officer carry thee to prison.
59 Digo-te que não sairás dali enquanto não pagares o derradeiro ceitil.
I tell thee, thou shalt not come out from thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.
