Juízes 4
1 Porém os filhos de Israel tornaram a fazer o que parecia mal aos olhos do Senhor, depois de falecer Ehud.
And the children of Israel began againe to do wickedly in the sight of the Lord when Ehud was dead.
2 E vendeu-os o Senhor em mão de Jabin, rei de Canaan, que reinava em Hazor: e Sisera era o capitão do seu exército, o qual então habitava em Haroseth dos gentios.
And the Lord sold them into the hande of Iabin King of Canaan, that reigned in Hazor, whose chiefe Captaine was called Sisera, which dwelt in Harosheth of the Gentiles.
3 Então os filhos de Israel clamaram ao Senhor, porquanto ele tinha novecentos carros ferrados, e vinte anos oprimia os filhos de Israel violentamente.
Then the children of Israel cryed vnto the Lord: (for he had nine hundreth charets of yron, and twentie yeeres he had vexed the children of Israel very sore)
4 E deborah, mulher profetiza, mulher de Lappidoth, julgava a Israel naquele tempo.
And at that time Deborah a Prophetesse the wife of Lapidoth iudged Israel.
5 E habitava debaixo das palmeiras de deborah, entre Rama e bethel, nas montanhas de Ephraim: e os filhos de Israel subiam a ela a juízo.
And this Deborah dwelt vnder a palme tree, betweene Ramah and Beth-el in mount Ephraim, and the children of Israel came vp to her for iudgement.
6 E enviou, e chamou a Barac, filho de Abinoam de Kedes de Naphtali, e disse-lhe: Porventura o Senhor Deus de Israel não deu ordem, dizendo: vai, e attrahe gente ao monte de Tabor, e toma contigo dez mil homens dos filhos de Naphtali e dos filhos de Zebulon?
Then shee sent and called Barak the sonne of Abinoam out of Kadesh of Naphtali, and sayd vnto him, Hath not the Lord God of Israel commanded, saying, Goe, and drawe towarde mount Tabor, and take with thee ten thousande men of the children of Naphtali and of the children of Zebulun?
7 E atrairei a ti para o ribeiro de Kison a Sisera, capitão do exército de Jabin, com os seus carros, e com a sua multidão: e o darei na tua mão.
And I wil drawe vnto thee to the riuer Kishon Sisera, the captaine of Iabins armie with his charets, and his multitude, and wil deliuer him into thine hand.
8 Então lhe disse Barac: Se fores comigo, irei: porém, se não fores comigo, não irei.
And Barak sayd vnto her, If thou wilt go with me, I will go: but if thou wilt not goe with me, I will not go.
9 E disse ela: Certamente irei contigo, porém não será tua a honra pelo caminho que levas; pois à mão de uma mulher o Senhor venderá a Sisera. E deborah se levantou, e partiu com Barac para Kedes
Then shee answered, I will surely goe with thee, but this iourney that thou takest, shall not be for thine honour: for the Lord shall sell Sisera into the hand of a woman. And Deborah arose and went with Barak to Kedesh.
10 Então Barac convocou a Zebulon e a Naphtali em Kedes, e subiu com dez mil homens após de si: e deborah subiu com ele,
And Barak called Zebulun and Naphtali to Kedesh, and he went vp on his feete with ten thousand men, and Deborah went vp with him.
11 E Eber, keneu, se tinha apartado dos keneos, dos filhos de Hobab, sogro de Moisés: e tinha estendido as suas tendas até ao carvalho de Saanaim, que está junto a Kedes.
(Now Heber the Kenite, which was of the children of Hobab the father in lawe of Moses, was departed from the Kenites, and pitched his tent vntill the playne of Zaanaim, which is by Kedesh)
12 E anunciaram a Sisera que Barac, filho de Abinoam, tinha subido ao monte de Tabor.
Then they shewed Sisera, that Barak the sonne of Abinoam was gone vp to mout Tabor.
13 E Sisera convocou todos os seus carros, novecentos carros ferrados, e todo o povo que estava com ele, desde Haroseth dos gentios até ao ribeiro de Kison.
And Sisera called for all his charets, euen nine hundreth charets of yron, and all the people that were with him from Harosheth of the Gentiles, vnto the riuer Kishon.
14 Então disse deborah a Barac: Levanta-te; porque este é o dia em que o Senhor tem dado a Sisera na tua mão: porventura o Senhor não saiu diante de ti? Barac pois desceu do monte de Tabor, e dez mil homens após dele.
Then Deborah sayd vnto Barak, Vp: for this is the day that the Lord hath deliuered Sisera into thine hand. Is not the Lord gone out before thee? So Barak went downe from mount Tabor, and ten thousand men after him.
15 E o Senhor derrotou a Sisera, e a todos os seus carros, e a todo o seu exército ao fio da espada, diante de Barac: e Sisera desceu do carro, e fugiu a pé.
And the Lord destroyed Sisera and all his charets, and al his hoste with the edge of the sword before Barak, so that Sisera lighted downe off his charet, and fled away on his feete.
16 E Barac os seguiu após dos carros, e após do exército, até Haroseth dos gentios: e todo o exército de Sisera caiu ao fio da espada, até não ficar um só.
But Barak pursued after the charets, and after the hoste vnto Harosheth of the Gentiles: and all the hoste of Sisera fel vpon the edge of the sworde: there was not a man left.
17 Porém Sisera fugiu a pé à tenda de Jael, mulher de Eber, keneu: porquanto havia paz entre Jabin, rei de Hazor, e a casa de Eber, keneu.
Howbeit Sisera fled away on his feete to the tent of Iael the wife of Heber the Kenite: (for peace was betweene Iabin the king of Hazor, and betweene the house of Heber the Kenite)
18 E Jael saiu ao encontro de Sisera, e disse-lhe: Retira-te, senhor meu, retira-te a mim, não temas. Retirou-se a ela à tenda, e cobriu-o com uma coberta.
And Iael went out to meete Sisera, and sayd vnto him, Turne in, my lord, turne in to me: feare not. And when he had turned in vnto her into her tent, she couered him with a mantell.
19 Então ele lhe disse: Dá-me, peço-te, de beber uma pouca d'água; porque tenho sede. Então ela abriu um odre de leite, e deu-lhe de beber, e o cobriu.
And he said vnto her, Giue me, I pray thee, a litle water to drinke: for I am thirstie. And shee opened a bottel of milke, and gaue him drinke, and couered him.
20 E ele lhe disse: Põe-te à porta da tenda; e há de ser que se alguém vier, e te perguntar, e disser: há aqui alguém? responde tu então: Não.
Againe he sayde vnto her, Stande in the doore of the tent, and when any man doth come and enquire of thee, saying, Is any man there? thou shalt say, Nay.
21 Então Jael, mulher de heber, tomou uma estaca da tenda, e lançou mão dum martelo, e foi-se mansamente a ele, e lhe cravou a estaca na fonte, e a pregou na terra, estando ele porém carregado dum profundo sono, e já cançado; e assim morreu.
Then Iael Hebers wife tooke a nayle of the tent, and tooke an hammer in her hande, and went softly vnto him, and smote the nayle into his temples, and fastened it into the grounde, (for he was fast a sleepe and weary) and so he dyed.
22 E eis que, seguindo Barac a Sisera, Jael lhe saiu ao encontro, e disse-lhe: Vem, e mostrar-te-ei o homem que buscas. E veio a ela, e eis que Sisera jazia morto, e a estaca na fonte.
And behold, as Barak pursued after Sisera, Iael came out to meete him, and sayd vnto him, Come, and I wil shewe thee the man, whome thou seekest: and when he came into her tent, behold, Sisera lay dead, and the nayle in his temples.
23 Assim Deus naquele dia sujeitou a Jabin, rei de Canaan, diante dos filhos de Israel.
So God brought downe Iabin the King of Canaan that day before the children of Israel.
24 E continuou a mão dos filhos de Israel a proseguir e endurecer-se sobre Jabin, rei de Canaan: até que exterminaram a Jabin, rei de Canaan.
And the hande of the children of Israel prospered, and preuailed against Iabin the King of Canaan, vntill they had destroyed Iabin King of Canaan.
