Jó 33
1 Assim, na verdade, ó Job, ouve as minhas razões, e dá ouvidos a todas as minhas palavras.
"However, Job, Please hear my speech, and listen to all my words.
2 Eis que já abri a minha boca: já falou a minha língua debaixo do meu paladar.
See now, I have opened my mouth. My tongue has spoken in my mouth.
3 As minhas razões sairão da sinceridade do meu coração, e a pura ciência dos meus lábios.
My words shall utter the uprightness of my heart. That which my lips know they shall speak sincerely.
4 O espírito de Deus me fez: e a inspiração do Todo-poderoso me deu vida.
The Spirit of God has made me, and the breath of Shaddai gives me life.
5 Se podes responde-me, põe por ordem diante de mim a tua causa, e levanta-te.
If you can, answer me. Set your words in order before me, and stand forth.
6 Eis que sou de Deus, como tu: do lodo também eu fui cortado.
Look, I am toward God even as you are. I am also formed out of the clay.
7 Eis que não te perturbará o meu terror, nem será pesada sobre ti a minha mão.
Look, my terror shall not make you afraid, neither shall my pressure be heavy on you.
8 Na verdade que disseste aos meus ouvidos; e eu ouvi a voz das palavras, dizendo:
"Surely you have spoken in my hearing, I have heard the voice of your words, saying,
9 Limpo estou, sem transgressão: puro sou; e não tenho culpa.
'I am clean, without disobedience. I am innocent, neither is there iniquity in me.
10 Eis que acha contra mim achaques, e me considerou como seu inimigo.
Look, he finds occasions against me. He counts me for his enemy.
11 Põe no tronco os meus pés, e observa todas as minhas veredas.
He puts my feet in the stocks. He marks all my paths.'
12 Eis que nisto te respondo: Não foste justo; porque maior é Deus do que o homem.
"Look, I will answer you. In this you are not just, for God is greater than man.
13 Por que razão contendeste com ele? porque não responde acerca de todos os seus feitos.
Why do you strive against him, because he doesn't give account of any of his matters?
14 Antes Deus fala uma e duas vezes; porém ninguém atenta para isso.
For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention.
15 Em sonho ou em visão de noite, quando cai sono profundo sobre os homens, e adormecem na cama,
In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed;
16 Então o revela ao ouvido dos homens, e lhes sela a sua instrução.
Then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction,
17 Para apartar o homem daquilo que faz, e esconder do homem a soberba.
That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
18 Para desviar a sua alma da cova, e a sua vida de passar pela espada.
He keeps back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
19 Também na sua cama é com dores castigado; como também a multidão de seus ossos com fortes dores.
He is chastened also with pain on his bed, with continual strife in his bones;
20 De modo que a sua vida abomina até o pão, e a sua alma a comida apetecível.
So that his life abhors bread, and his soul choicest food.
21 Desaparece a sua carne à vista de olhos, e os seus ossos, que se não viam, agora aparecem:
His flesh is so consumed away, that it can't be seen. His bones that were not seen stick out.
22 E a sua alma se vai chegando à cova, e a sua vida ao que traz morte.
Yes, his soul draws near to the pit, and his life to the destroyers.
23 Se com ele pois houver um mensageiro, um intérprete, um entre milhares, para declarar ao homem a sua retidão,
"If there is beside him an angel, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to show to man what is right for him;
24 Então terá misericórdia dele, e lhe dirá: Livra-o, que não desça à cova; já achei resgate.
then he is gracious to him, and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, I have found a ransom.'
25 Sua carne se reverdecerá mais do que era na mocidade, e tornará aos dias da sua juventude.
His flesh shall be fresher than a child's. He returns to the days of his youth.
26 Deveras orará a Deus, o qual se agradará dele, e verá a sua face com júbilo, e restituirá ao homem a sua justiça.
He prays to God, and he is favorable to him, so that he sees his face with joy. He restores to man his righteousness.
27 Olhará para os homens, e dirá: Pequei, e perverti o direito, o que de nada me aproveitou.
He sings before men, and says, 'I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it did not profit me.
28 Porém Deus livrou a minha alma de que não passasse a cova; assim que a minha vida vê a luz.
He has redeemed my soul from going into the pit. My life shall see the light.'
29 Eis que tudo isto obra Deus, duas e três vezes para com o homem;
"Look, God works all these things, twice, yes three times, with a man,
30 Para desviar a sua alma da perdição, e o alumiar com a luz dos viventes.
to bring back his soul from the pit, that he may be enlightened with the light of the living.
31 Escuta pois, ó Job, ouve-me: cala-te, e eu falarei.
Mark well, Job, and listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will speak.
32 Se tens alguma coisa que dizer, responde-me: fala, porque desejo justificar-te.
If you have anything to say, answer me. Speak, for I desire to justify you.
33 Se não, escuta-me tu: cala-te, e ensinar-te-ei a sabedoria.
If not, listen to me. Hold your peace, and I will teach you wisdom."
