Jó 19
1 Respondeu porém Job, e disse:
Then Job answered, and said,
2 Até quando entristecereis a minha alma, e me quebrantareis com palavras?
How long will ye vex my soul, and break me in pieces with words?
3 Já dez vezes me envergonhastes; vergonha não tendes: contra mim vos endureceis.
These ten times ye have reproached me. Ye are not ashamed that ye deal hardly with me.
4 Embora haja eu, na verdade, errado, comigo ficará o meu erro.
And be it indeed that I have erred, my error remains with myself.
5 Se deveras vos levantais contra mim, e me arguis com o meu opróbrio,
If indeed ye will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach,
6 Sabei agora que Deus é o que me transtornou, e com a sua rede me cercou.
know now that God has subverted me, and has encompassed me with his net.
7 Eis que clamo: violência; porém não sou ouvido; grito: socorro; porém não há justiça.
Behold, I cry out of wrong, but I am not heard. I cry for help, but there is no justice.
8 O meu caminho entrincheirou, e já não posso passar, e nas minhas veredas pôs trevas.
He has walled up my way that I cannot pass, and has set darkness in my paths.
9 Da minha honra me despojou; e tirou-me a coroa da minha cabeça.
He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head.
10 Derribou-me ele em roda, e eu me vou, e arrancou a minha esperança, como a uma árvore.
He has broken me down on every side, and I am gone. And he has plucked up my hope like a tree.
11 E fez inflamar contrar mim a sua ira, e me reputou para consigo, como a seus inimigos.
He has also kindled his wrath against me. And he considers me to him as his adversaries.
12 Juntas vieram as suas tropas, e prepararam contra mim o seu caminho, e se acamparam ao redor da minha tenda.
His troops come on together, and cast up their way against me, and encamp round about my tent.
13 Pôs longe de mim a meus irmãos, e os que me conhecem deveras me estranharam.
He has put my brothers far from me, and my acquaintances are wholly estranged from me.
14 Os meus parentes me deixaram, e os meus conhecidos se esqueceram de mim.
My kinsfolk have failed, and my familiar friends have forgotten me.
15 Os meus domésticos e as minhas servas me reputaram como um estranho, e vim a ser um estrangeiro aos seus olhos.
Those who dwell in my house, and my maids, reckon me for a stranger; I am an alien in their sight.
16 Chamei a meu criado, e ele me não respondeu, suplicando-lhe eu por minha própria boca.
I call to my servant, and he gives me no answer. I entreat him with my mouth.
17 O meu bafo se fez estranho a minha mulher, e eu a suplico pelos filhos do meu corpo.
My breath is strange to my wife, and my supplication to the sons of my own mother.
18 Até os rapazes me desprezam, e, levantando-me eu, falam contra mim.
Even young children despise me. If I arise, they speak against me.
19 Todos os homens do meu secreto conselho me abominam, e até os que eu amava se tornaram contra mim.
All my familiar friends abhor me, and those whom I loved are turned against me.
20 Os meus ossos se apegaram à minha pele e à minha carne, e escapei só com a pele dos meus dentes.
My bone cleaves to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped with the skin of my teeth.
21 Compadecei-vos de mim, amigos meus, compadecei-vos de mim, porque a mão de Deus me tocou.
Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O ye my friends, for the hand of God has touched me.
22 Porque me perseguis assim como Deus, e da minha carne vos não fartais?
Why do ye persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh?
23 Quem me dera agora, que as minhas palavras se escrevessem! quem me dera, que se gravassem num livro!
O that my words were now written! O that they were inscribed in a book,
24 E que, com pena de ferro, e com chumbo, para sempre fossem esculpidas na rocha!
that they were engraved in the rock forever with an iron pen and lead!
25 Porque eu sei que o meu redentor vive, e que estará em pé no derradeiro dia sobre o pó.
But as for me I know that my Redeemer lives, and at last he will stand up upon the earth.
26 E depois de roída a minha pele, contudo desde a minha carne verei a Deus,
And after my skin, this body, is destroyed, then outside my flesh I shall see God,
27 A quem eu verei por mim mesmo, e os meus olhos o verão, e não outro: e por isso os meus rins se consomem no meu seio.
whom I, even I, shall see on my side, and my eyes shall behold, and not as a stranger. My heart is consumed within me.
28 Na verdade, que devieis dizer: Porque o perseguimos? Pois a raiz da acusação se acha em mim.
If ye say, How we will persecute him! And that the root of the matter is found in me,
29 Temei vós mesmos a espada; porque o furor traz os castigos da espada, para saberdes que haverá um juízo.
be ye afraid of the sword. For wrath brings the punishments of the sword, that ye may know there is a judgment.
