Jó 18
1 Então respondeu Bildad, o suhita, e disse:
And Bildad the Shuhite answers and says:
2 Até quando não fareis fim de palavras? considerai bem, e então falaremos.
“When do you set an end to words? Consider, and afterward we speak.
3 Porque somos estimados como bestas, e imundos aos vossos olhos?
Why have we been reckoned as livestock? We have been defiled in your eyes!
4 Oh tu, que despedaças a tua alma na tua ira, será a terra deixada por tua causa? e remover-se-ão as rochas do seu lugar?
He is tearing himself in his anger. Is earth forsaken for your sake? And is a rock removed from its place?
5 Na verdade, a luz dos ímpios se apagará, e a faísca do seu fogo não resplandecerá.
Also, the light of the wicked is extinguished. And there does not shine a spark of his fire.
6 A luz se escurecerá nas suas tendas, e a sua lâmpada sobre ele se apagará.
The light has been dark in his tent, And his lamp over him is extinguished.
7 Os passos do seu poder se estreitarão, e o seu conselho o derribará.
The steps of his strength are restricted, And his own counsel casts him down.
8 Porque por seus próprios pés é lançado na rede, e andará nos fios enredados.
For he is sent into a net by his own feet, And he habitually walks on a snare.
9 O laço o apanhará pelo calcanhar, e prevalecerá contra ele o salteador.
A trap seizes on the heel, The designing prevails over him.
10 Está escondida debaixo da terra uma corda, e uma armadilha na vereda,
His cord is hidden in the earth, And his trap on the path.
11 Os assombros o espantarão em redor, e o farão correr de uma parte para a outra, por onde quer que apresse os passos.
Terrors have terrified him all around, And they have scattered him—at his feet.
12 Será faminto o seu rigor, e a destruição está pronta ao seu lado.
His sorrow is hungry, And calamity is ready at his side.
13 O primogênito da morte consumirá as costelas da sua pele: consumirá, digo, os seus membros.
It consumes the parts of his skin, Death’s firstborn consumes his parts.
14 A sua confiança será arrancada da sua tenda, e isto o fará caminhar para o rei dos assombros.
His confidence is drawn from his tent, And it causes him to step to the king of terrors.
15 Morará na sua mesma tenda, não lhe ficando nada: espalhar-se-á enxofre sobre a sua habitação.
It dwells in his tent—out of his provender, Sulfur is scattered over his habitation.
16 Por debaixo se secarão as suas raízes, e por de cima serão cortados os seus ramos.
From beneath his roots are dried up, And from above his crop is cut off.
17 A sua memória perecerá da terra, e pelas praças não terá nome.
His memorial has perished from the land, And he has no name on the street.
18 Da luz o lançarão nas trevas, e afugenta-lo-ão do mundo.
They thrust him from light to darkness, And cast him out from the habitable earth.
19 Não terá filho nem neto entre o seu povo, e resto nenhum dele ficará nas suas moradas.
He has no continuator, Nor successor among his people, And none is remaining in his dwellings.
20 Do seu dia se espantarão os vindouros, e os antigos serão sobresaltados de horror.
At this day, those [in the] west have been astonished, And those [in the] east have taken fright.
21 Tais são, na verdade, as moradas do perverso, e este é o lugar do que não conhece a Deus.
Only these [are] dwelling places of the perverse, And this [is] the place God has not known.”
