Jeremias 7
1 A palavra que foi dita a Jeremias pelo Senhor, dizendo:
The woordes that came to Ieremiah from the Lord, saying,
2 Põe-te à porta da casa do Senhor, e proclama ali esta palavra, e dize: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor, ó todo Judá, os que entrais por estas portas, para adorardes ao Senhor.
Stand in the gate of the Lordes house and crie this woorde there, and say, Heare the woorde of the Lord, all yee of Iudah that enter in at these gates to worship the Lord.
3 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: melhorai os vossos caminhos e as vossas obras, e vos farei habitar neste lugar.
Thus sayeth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Amend your waies and your woorkes, and I will let you dwell in this place.
4 Não vos fieis em palavras falsas, dizendo: Templo do Senhor, templo do Senhor, templo do Senhor são estes.
Trust not in lying woordes, saying, The Temple of the Lord, the Temple of the Lord: this is the Temple of the Lord.
5 Mas, se deveras melhorardes os vossos caminhos e as vossas obras, se deveras fizerdes juízo entre um homem e entre o seu companheiro,
For if you amende and redresse your waies and your woorkes: if you execute iudgement betweene a man and his neighbour,
6 Não oprimirdes o estrangeiro, e órfão, e viúva, nem derramardes sangue inocente neste lugar nem andardes após os deuses alheios para vosso mal,
And oppresse not the stranger, the fatherlesse and the widow and shed no innocent blood in this place, neither walke after other gods to your destruction,
7 Eu vos farei habitar neste lugar, na terra que dei a vossos pais, de século em século.
Then will I let you dwell in this place in the lande that I gaue vnto your fathers, for euer and euer.
8 Eis que vós confiais nas palavras falsas, que não aproveitam para nada.
Beholde, you trust in lying woordes, that can not profite.
9 Porventura furtareis, e matareis, e adulterareis, e jurareis falsamente, e queimareis incenso a Baal, e andareis após os deuses alheios, a quem não conheceis?
Will you steale, murder, and commit adulterie, and sweare falsely and burne incense vnto Baal, and walke after other gods whome yee knowe not?
10 E então vireis, e vos poreis diante de mim nesta casa, que se chama pelo meu nome, e direis: Somos entregues para fazermos todas estas abominações.
And come and stande before mee in this House, whereupon my Name is called, and saye, We are deliuered, though we haue done all these abominations?
11 É pois esta casa, que se chama pelo meu nome, uma caverna de salteadores aos vossos olhos? eis que também eu o vi, diz o Senhor.
Is this House become a denne of theeues, whereupon my Name is called before your eyes? Beholde, euen I see it, sayeth the Lord.
12 Porque ide agora ao meu lugar, que estava em Silo, onde fiz habitar o meu nome ao princípio, e vede o que lhe fiz, por causa da maldade do meu povo Israel.
But go ye nowe vnto my place which was in Shilo, where I set my Name at the beginning, and beholde, what I did to it for the wickednesse of my people Israel.
13 Agora, pois, porquanto fazeis todas estas obras, diz o Senhor, e eu vos falei, madrugando, e falando, e não ouvistes, e chamei-vos, e não respondestes,
Therefore nowe because yee haue done all these woorkes, sayeth the Lord, (and I rose vp earely and spake vnto you: but when I spake, yee would not heare me, neither when I called, would yee answere).
14 Farei também a esta casa, que se chama pelo meu nome, em que confiais, e a este lugar, que vos dei a vós e a vossos pais, como fiz a Silo.
Therefore will I do vnto this House, wherupon my Name is called, wherein also yee trust, euen vnto the place that I gaue to you and to your fathers, as I haue done vnto Shilo.
15 E vos lançarei de diante da minha face, como lancei a todos os vossos irmãos, a toda a geração de Ephraim.
And I will cast you out of my sight, as I haue cast out all your brethren, euen the whole seede of Ephraim.
16 Tu pois não ores por este povo, nem levantes por ele clamor nem oração, nem me importunes, porque eu não te ouvirei.
Therfore thou shalt not pray for this people, neither lift vp crie or praier for them neither intreat me, for I will not heare thee.
17 Porventura tu não vês o que andam fazendo nas cidades de Judá, e nas ruas de Jerusalém?
Seest thou not what they doe in the cities of Iudah and in the streetes of Ierusalem?
18 Os filhos apanham a lenha, e os pais accendem o fogo, e as mulheres amassam a massa, para fazerem bolos à rainha dos céus, e oferecem libações a deuses alheios, para me provocarem à ira.
The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knede the dough to make cakes to the Queene of heauen and to powre out drinke offrings vnto other gods, that they may prouoke me vnto anger.
19 Acaso eles a mim me provocam à ira? diz o Senhor, e não antes a si mesmos, para confusão dos seus rostos?
Doe they prouoke me to anger, sayeth the Lord, and not themselues to the confusion of their owne faces?
20 Portanto assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis que a minha ira e o meu furor se derramarão sobre este lugar, sobre os homens e sobre as bestas, e sobre as árvores do campo, e sobre os frutos da terra; e acender-se-á, e não se apagará.
Therefore thus sayeth the Lord God, Beholde, mine anger and my wrath shall be powred vpon this place, vpon man and vpon beast, and vpon the tree of the fielde, and vpon the fruite of the grounde, and it shall burne and not bee quenched.
21 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: ajuntai os vossos holocaustos aos vossos sacrifícios, e comei carne.
Thus sayth the Lord of hostes, the God of Israel, Put your burnt offerings vnto your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.
22 Porque nunca falei a vossos pais, no dia em que vos tirei da terra do Egito, nem lhes ordenei coisa alguma acerca de holocaustos ou sacrifícios.
For I spake not vnto your fathers, nor commanded them, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offrings and sacrifices.
23 Porém esta coisa lhes ordenei, dizendo: dai ouvidos à minha voz, e eu serei o vosso Deus, e vós sereis o meu povo; e andai em todo o caminho que eu vos mandar, para que vos vá bem
But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voyce, and I will be your God, and yee shalbe my people: and walke yee in all the wayes which I haue commanded you, that it may be well vnto you.
24 Porém não ouviram, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, mas andaram nos seus próprios conselhos, no propósito do seu coração malvado; e tornaram-se para traz, e não para diante.
But they would not obey, nor incline their eare, but went after the counsels and the stubbernesse of their wicked heart, and went backewarde and not forwarde.
25 Desde o dia em que vossos pais sairam da terra do Egito, até ao dia de hoje, enviei-vos todos os meus servos, os profetas, cada dia madrugando e enviando-os;
Since the day that your fathers came vp out of the lande of Egypt, vnto this day, I haue euen sent vnto you al my seruants the Prophets, rising vp earely euery day, and sending them.
26 Porém não me deram ouvidos, nem inclinaram os seus ouvidos, mas endureceram a sua cerviz, e fizeram pior do que seus pais.
Yet would they not heare me nor encline their eare, but hardened their necke and did worse then their fathers.
27 Falar-lhes-ás pois todas estas palavras, mas não te darão ouvidos; chama-los-ás, mas não te responderão.
Therefore shalt thou speake al these words vnto them, but they will not heare thee: thou shalt also crie vnto them, but they will not answere thee.
28 E lhes dirás: Esta é gente que não dá ouvidos à voz do Senhor seu Deus e não aceita castigo: já pereceu a verdade, e se arrancou da sua boca.
But thou shalt say vnto them, This is a nation that heareth not the voice of the Lord their God, nor receiueth discipline: trueth is perished, and is cleane gone out of their mouth.
29 Tosquia o cabelo da tua cabeça, e lança-o fora, e levanta o teu pranto sobre as alturas; porque já o Senhor rejeitou e desamparou a geração do seu furor
Cut off thine heare, O Ierusalem, and cast it away, and take vp a complaint on the hie places: for the Lord hath reiected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30 Porque os filhos de Judá fizeram o que parece mal aos meus olhos, diz o Senhor; puseram as suas abominações na casa que se chama pelo meu nome, para contamina-la.
For the children of Iudah haue done euill in my sight, sayth the Lord: they haue set their abominations in the House, whereupon my Name is called, to pollute it.
31 E edificaram os altos de Topheth, que está no vale do filho de Hinnom, para queimarem no fogo a seus filhos e a suas filhas; o que nunca ordenei, nem me subiu sobre o coração.
And they haue built the hie place of Topheth, which is in the valley of Ben-Hinnom to burne their sonnes and their daughters in the fire, which I commanded them not, neither came it in mine heart.
32 Portanto, eis que veem dias, diz o Senhor, em que nunca se chamará mais Topheth, nem vale do filho de Hinnom, mas o vale da matança; e enterrarão em Topheth, por não haver lugar.
Therefore beholde, the dayes come, sayeth the Lord, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor the valley of Ben-Hinnom, but the valley of slaughter: for they shall burie in Topheth til there be no place.
33 E os cadáveres deste povo servirão de pasto às aves dos céus e aos animais da terra; e ninguém os espantará.
And ye carkeises of this people shalbe meat for the foules of the heauen and for the beastes of the earth, and none shall fraie them away.
34 E farei cessar das cidades de Judá, e das ruas de Jerusalém, a voz de folguedo, e a voz de alegria, a voz de esposo e a voz de esposa; porque a terra se tornará em desolação.
Then I will cause to cease from the cities of Iudah and from the streetes of Ierusalem the voice of mirth and the voice of gladnesse, the voice of the bridegrom and the voice of the bride: for the lande shalbe desolate.
