Jeremias 50

1 A palavra que falou o Senhor contra Babilônia, contra a terra dos caldeus, por mão de Jeremias, o profeta.

The word that the Lord spake, concerning Babel, and cocerning the land of the Caldeans by the ministerie of Ieremiah the Prophet.

2 Anunciai entre as nações; e fazei ouvir, e levantai bandeira, fazei ouvir, não encubrais; dizei: Já tomada é Babilônia, confundido está Bel, atropelado está Merodach, confundidos estão os seus ídolos, e atropellados estão os seus deuses de esterco.

Declare among the nations, and publish it, and set vp a standart, proclaime it and conceale it not: say, Babel is taken, Bel is confounded, Merodach is broken downe: her idols are confounded, and their images are burst in pieces.

3 Porque subiu contra ela uma nação do norte, que fará da sua terra uma solidão, e não haverá quem habite nela: desde os homens até aos animais fugiram, e se foram.

For out of the North there commeth vp a nation against her, which shall make her lande waste, and none shall dwel therein: they shall flee, and depart, both man and beast.

4 Naqueles dias, e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor, os filhos de Israel virão, eles e os filhos de Judá juntamente; andando e chorando virão, e buscarão ao Senhor seu Deus.

In those daies, and at that time, sayeth the Lord, the children of Israel shall come, they, and the children of Iudah together, going, and weeping shall they goe, and seeke the Lord their God.

5 Pelo caminho de Sião perguntarão, para ali endereçarão os seus rostos: virão, e se ajuntarão ao Senhor, num concerto eterno que nunca será esquecido.

They shall aske the way to Zion, with their faces thitherward, saying, Come, and let vs cleaue to the Lord in a perpetuall couenant that shall not be forgotten.

6 Ovelhas perdidas foram o meu povo, os seus pastores as fizeram errar, pelos montes as desviaram; de monte em outeiro andavam, esqueceram-se do lugar do seu repouso.

My people hath beene as lost sheepe: their shepheards haue caused them to goe astray, and haue turned them away to the mountaines: they haue gone from mountaine to hil, and forgotten their resting place.

7 Todos os que os achavam os devoraram; e os seus adversários diziam: Culpa nenhuma teremos; porque pecaram contra o Senhor na morada da justiça, contra o Senhor, a Esperança de seus pais.

Al that found them, haue deuoured them, and their enemies saide, We offende not, because they haue sinned against the Lord, the habitation of iustice, euen the Lord the hope of their fathers.

8 Fugi do meio de Babilônia, e saí da terra dos caldeus; e sede como os carneiros diante do rebanho.

Flee from the middes of Babel, and depart out of the lande of the Caldeans, and be ye as the hee goates before the flocke.

9 Porque eis que eu suscitarei e farei subir contra Babilônia uma congregação de grandes nações da terra do norte, e se prepararão contra ela, e dali será tomada: as suas flechas serão como de valente herói, não tornará sem efeito.

For loe, I will raise, and cause to come vp against Babel a multitude of mightie natios from the North countrey, and they shall set themselues in aray against her, whereby shee shall be taken: their arrowes shall be as of a strong man, which is expert, for none shall returne in vaine.

10 E Chaldea servirá de preza: todos os que a saqueiam serão fartos, diz o Senhor.

And Caldea shalbe a spoyle: all that spoyle her, shalbe satisfied, sayth the Lord.

11 Porquanto vos alegrastes, porquanto saltastes de prazer, ó saqueadores da minha herança, porquanto vos inchastes como bezerra gorda, e rinchastes como cavalos vigorosos,

Because yee were glad and reioyced in destroying mine heritage, and because ye are growen fatte, as the calues in the grasse, and neied like strong horses,

12 Será mui confundida vossa mãe, ficará envergonhada a que vos pariu: eis que ela será a última das nações, um deserto, uma terra seca e uma solidão.

Therefore your mother shall bee sore confounded, and she that bare you, shall be ashamed: beholde, the vttermost of the nations shalbe a desert, a drie land, and a wildernes.

13 Por causa do furor do Senhor não será habitada, antes se tornará em total assolação: qualquer que passar por Babilônia se espantará, e assobiará sobre todas as suas pragas

Because of the wrath of the Lord it shall not be inhabited, but shall be wholy desolate: euery one that goeth by Babel, shall be astonished, and hisse at all her plagues.

14 Preparai-vos contra Babilônia em redor, todos os que armais arcos: atirai-lhe, não poupeis as flechas, porque pecou contra o Senhor.

Put your selues in aray against Babel rounde about: all ye that bende the bowe, shoote at her, spare no arrowes: for shee hath sinned against the Lord.

15 Gritai contra ela em redor, porque já deu a sua mão, já cairam seus fundamentos, já são derribados os seus muros; porque esta é a vingança do Senhor: tomai vingança dela; como ela fez, fazei-lhe a ela.

Crie against her round about: she hath giuen her hand: her foundations are fallen, and her walles are destroyed: for it is the vengeance of the Lord: take vengeance vpon her: as she hath done, doe vnto her.

16 Arrancai de Babilônia o que semeia, e o que leva a foice no tempo da sega: por causa da espada aflitiva virar-se-á cada um para o seu povo, e fugirá cada um para a sua terra.

Destroy the sower from Babel, and him that handleth the sieth in the time of haruest: because of the sworde of the oppressor they shall turne euery one to his people, and they shall flee euery one to his owne land.

17 Cordeiro desgarrado é Israel: os leões o afugentaram: o primeiro que o comeu foi o rei da Assyria; e este, o último, Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, lhe quebrou os ossos.

Israel is like scattered sheepe: the lions haue dispersed them: first the King of Asshur hath deuoured him, and last this Nebuchad-nezzar King, of Babel hath broken his bones.

18 Portanto, assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Eis que visitarei o rei de Babilônia, e a sua terra, como visitei o rei da Assyria.

Therefore thus saith the Lord of hostes the God of Israel, Behold, I wil visit ye King of Babel, and his land, as I haue visited the King of Asshur.

19 E farei tornar Israel para a sua morada, e pastará no Carmelo e em Basan; e fartar-se-á a sua alma no monte de Ephraim e em Gilead.

And I will bring Israel againe to his habitation: hee shall feede on Carmel and Bashan, and his soule shall be satisfied vpon the mount Ephraim and Gilead.

20 Naqueles dias, e naquele tempo, diz o Senhor, buscar-se-á a maldade de Israel, porém não se achará; como também os pecados de Judá, porém não se acharão; porque perdoarei aos que eu deixar de resto

In those daies, and at that time, sayeth the Lord, the iniquitie of Israel shall be sought for, and there shall be none: and the sinnes of Iudah, and they shall not be founde: for I will be mercifull vnto them, whome I reserue.

21 Contra a terra de Merathaim. Sobe contra ela, e contra os moradores de Pecod: assola e de todo destrói após eles, diz o Senhor, e faze conforme tudo o que te mandei.

Goe vp against the lande of the rebelles, euen against it, and against the inhabitantes of Pekod: destroy, and lay it waste after them, saieth the Lord, and doe according to all that I haue commanded thee.

22 Estrondo de guerra há na terra, e grande quebra.

A crie of battell is in the land, and of great destruction.

23 Como foi cortado e quebrantado o martelo de toda a terra! como se tornou Babilônia em espanto entre as nações!

Howe is the hammer of the whole world destroied, and broken! howe is Babel become desolate among the nations!

24 Laços te armei, e também foste presa, ó Babilônia, e tu não o soubeste: foste achada, e também apanhada; porque contra o Senhor te entremeteste.

I haue snared thee, and thou art taken, O Babel, and thou wast not aware: thou art found, and also caught, because thou hast striuen against the Lord.

25 O Senhor abriu o seu tesouro, e tirou os instrumentos da sua indignação; porque esta obra é do Senhor Jehovah dos exércitos, na terra dos caldeus.

The Lord hath opened his treasure, and hath brought foorth the weapons of his wrath: for this is the woorke of the Lord God of hostes in the lande of the Caldeans.

26 Vinde contra ela dos confins da terra, abri os seus celeiros, trilhai-a como a pavêas, e destrui-a de todo: nada lhe fique de resto.

Come against her from the vtmost border: open her store houses: treade on her as on sheaues, and destroy her vtterly: let nothing of her be left.

27 Matai à espada a todos os seus novilhos, desçam ao degoladouro: ai deles! porque veio o seu dia, o tempo da sua visitação.

Destroy all her bullockes: let them goe downe to the slaughter. Wo vnto them, for their day is come, and the time of their visitation.

28 Voz há dos que fugiram e escaparam da terra de Babilônia, para anunciar em Sião a vingança do Senhor nosso Deus, a vingança do seu templo.

The voyce of them that flee, and escape out of the lande of Babel to declare in Zion the vengeance of the Lord our God, and the vengeance of his Temple.

29 Convocai contra Babilônia os flecheiros, a todos os que armam arcos: acampai-vos contra ela em redor, ninguém escape dela: pagai-lhe conforme a sua obra, conforme tudo o que fez, fazei-lhe; porque se houve arrogantemente contra o Senhor, contra o Santo de Israel.

Call vp the archers against Babel: al ye that bend the bow, besiege it rounde about: let none thereof escape: recompence her according to her worke, and according to all that she hath done, doe vnto her: for she hath bene proud against the Lord, euen against the holy one of Israel.

30 Portanto, cairão os seus mancebos nas suas ruas; e todos os seus homens de guerra serão desarreigados naquele dia, diz o Senhor.

Therefore shall her yong men fall in the streetes, and al her men of warre shalbe destroied in that day, sayeth the Lord.

31 Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó soberbo, diz o Senhor Deus dos exércitos; porque já veio o teu dia, o tempo em que te hei de visitar.

Beholde, I come vnto thee, O proude man, saith the Lord God of hostes: for thy day is come, euen the time that I will visite thee.

32 Então tropeçará o soberbo, e cairá, e ninguém haverá que o levante; e porei fogo às suas cidades, que consumirá todos os seus contornos.

And the proude shall stumble and fall, and none shall raise him vp: and I will kindle a fire in his cities, and it shall deuoure all round about him.

33 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Os filhos de Israel e os filhos de Judá foram oprimidos juntamente; e todos os que os tomaram cativos os retiveram, não os quizeram soltar.

Thus saieth the Lord of hosts, The children of Israel, and the children of Iudah were oppressed together: and all that tooke them captiues, held them, and would not let them goe.

34 Porém o seu redentor é forte, o Senhor dos exércitos é o seu nome; certamente pleiteará o pleito deles, para dar descanço à terra, e inquietar os moradores de Babilônia.

But their strong redeemer, whose Name is the Lord of hostes, he shall maintaine their cause, that he may giue rest to the lande, and disquiet the inhabitants of Babel.

35 A espada virá sobre os caldeus, diz o Senhor, como também sobre os moradores de Babilônia, e sobre os seus príncipes, e sobre os seus sábios.

A sworde is vpon the Caldeans, sayeth the Lord, and vpon the inhabitants of Babel, and vpon her princes, and vpon her wise men.

36 A espada virá sobre os mentirosos, e ficarão insensatos: a espada virá sobre os seus valentes, e desmaiarão.

A sworde is vpon the soothsaiers, and they shall dote: a sword is vpon her strong men, and they shalbe afraide.

37 A espada virá sobre os seus cavalos, e sobre os seus carros, e sobre toda a mistura de povos, que está no meio dela; e tornar-se-ão em mulheres: a espada virá sobre os seus tesouros, e serão saqueados.

A sworde is vpon their horses and vpon their charets, and vpon all the multitude that are in the middes of her, and they shall be like women: a sworde is vpon her treasures, and they shall be spoyled.

38 Cairá a seca sobre as suas águas, e secarão; porque é terra de esculturas, e pelos horríveis ídolos andam enfurecidos.

A drought is vpon her waters, and they shall be dried vp: for it is the lande of grauen images, and they dote vpon their idoles.

39 Por isso habitarão nela as feras do deserto, com os animais bravos das ilhas: também habitarão nela as abestruzinhas; e nunca mais será povoada para sempre, nem será habitada de geração em geração.

Therefore the Ziims with the Iims shall dwel there, and the ostriches shall dwel therein: for it shall be no more inhabited, neither shall it be inhabited from generation vnto generation.

40 Como Deus transtornou a Sodoma e a Gomorra, e aos seus vizinhos, diz o Senhor, assim ninguém habitará ali, nem morará nela filho do homem.

As God destroied Sodom and Gomorah with the places thereof neere about, sayeth the Lord: so shall no man dwell theere, neither shall the sonne of man remaine therein.

41 Eis que um povo vem do norte, e uma grande nação; e reis poderosos se levantarão dos lados da terra.

Beholde, a people shall come from the North, and a great nation, and many Kings shall be raised vp from the coastes of the earth.

42 Arco e lança tomarão; eles são cruéis, e não serão compassivos; a sua voz bramará como o mar, e sobre cavalos cavalgarão, como um homem apercebido para a batalha, contra ti, ó filha de Babilônia.

They shall holde the bowe and the buckeler: they are cruell and vnmercifull: their voyce shall roare like the sea, and they shall ride vpon horses, and be put in aray like men to the battell against thee, O daughter of Babel.

43 O rei de Babilônia ouviu a sua fama, e desfaleceram as suas mãos: tomou-o a angústia e dor, como da que está de parto.

The King of Babel hath heard the report of them, and his hands waxed feeble: sorow came vpon him, euen sorowe as of a woman in trauaile.

44 Eis que ele como leão subirá da enchente do Jordão, contra a morada do forte, porque num momento o farei correr dali; e quem é o escolhido, a este porei contra ela: porque quem é semelhante a mim? e quem me citaria a mim? e quem é aquele pastor que subsistiria perante mim?

Beholde, hee shall come vp like a lyon from the swelling of Iorden vnto the strong habitation: for I will make Israel to rest, and I will make them to haste away from her: and who is a chosen man that I may appoynt against her? for who is like me, and who will appoynt me the time? and who is the shepheard that will stande before me?

45 Portanto ouvi o conselho do Senhor, que decretou contra Babilônia, e os seus desígnios que intentou contra a terra dos caldeus: Certamente os mais pequenos do rebanho os arrastarão; certamente assolará a morada sobre eles.

Therefore heare the counsell of the Lord that hee hath deuised against Babel, and his purpose that hee hath conceiued against the lande of the Caldeans: surely the least of the flocke shall drawe them out: surely he shall make their habitation desolate with them.

46 Do estrondo da tomada de Babilônia estremeceu a terra; e o grito se ouviu entre as nações.

At the noyse of the winning of Babel the earth is moued, and the crye is heard among the nations.
