Jeremias 48
1 Contra Moab assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel: Ai de Nebo, porque foi destruída: envergonhada está Kiriathaim, já é tomada: Misgab está envergonhada e espantada.
Of Moab. "Thus says Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: 'Woe to Nebo, because it is about to be destroyed; Kiriathaim will be put to shame, it will be taken captive. The fortress is put to shame and broken down.
2 Já não há mais glóriação de Moab acerca de Hesbon; pensaram mal contra ela, dizendo: Vinde, e desarreiguemo-la, para que não seja mais povo; também tu, ó Madmen, serás desarreigada; a espada te irá seguindo
The praise of Moab is no more; in Heshbon they have devised evil against her: "Come, and let us cut her off from being a nation." You also, Madmen, shall be brought to silence: the sword shall pursue you.
3 Voz de grito de Horonaim: ruína e grande destruição.
The sound of a cry from Horonaim, "destruction and great calamity."
4 Já está destruída Moab: seus filhinhos fizeram-se ouvir com gritos.
Moab is destroyed; her little ones have caused a cry to be heard.
5 Porque na subida de Luhith subirá choro sobre choro; porque na descida de Horonaim os adversários de Moab ouviram um lastimoso clamor.
For by the ascent of Luhith with continual weeping shall they go up; for at the descent of Horonaim they have heard the distress of the cry of destruction.
6 Fugi, salvai a vossa vida, e sereis como a tamargueira no deserto.
"Flee, save your lives, and be like a shrub in the wilderness."
7 Porque, por causa da tua confiança nas tuas obras, e nos teus tesouros, também tu serás tomada; e Camos sairá para o cativeiro, os seus sacerdotes e os seus príncipes juntos.
For, because you have trusted in your works and in your treasures, you also shall be taken: and Chemosh shall go forth into captivity, his priests and his officials together.
8 Porque virá o destruidor sobre cada uma das cidades, e nenhuma escapará, e perecerá o vale, e destruir-se-á a campina; porque o Senhor o disse.
The destroyer shall come on every city, and no city shall escape; the valley also shall perish, and the plain shall be destroyed; as Jehovah has spoken.
9 Dai asas a Moab; porque voando sairá, e as suas cidades se tornarão em assolação, e ninguém morará nelas.
Give wings to Moab, that she may fly and get her away: and her cities shall become a desolation, without any to dwell in them.'
10 Maldito aquele que fizer a obra do Senhor fraudulosamente: e maldito aquele que veda a sua espada do sangue.
Cursed is he who does the work of Jehovah negligently; and cursed is he who keeps back his sword from blood.
11 Moab esteve descançado desde a sua mocidade, e repousou nas suas fezes, e não foi trafegado de vaso em vaso, nem foi para o cativeiro; por isso permaneceu o seu sabor nele, e o seu cheiro não mudou.
'Moab has been at ease from his youth, and he has settled on his lees, and has not been emptied from vessel to vessel, neither has he gone into captivity: therefore his taste remains in him, and his scent is not changed.
12 Portanto, eis que dias veem, diz o Senhor, em que lhe enviarei andantes, que o farão andar a grandes passos; e despejarão os seus vasos, e romperão os seus odres.
Therefore look, the days come,' says Jehovah, 'that I will send to him those who pour off, and they shall pour him off; and they shall empty his vessels, and break their bottles in pieces.
13 E Moab terá vergonha de Camos, como se envergonhou a casa de Israel de bethel, sua confiança.
Moab shall be ashamed of Chemosh, as the house of Israel was ashamed of Bethel their confidence.
14 Como direis, pois: Valentes somos e homens fortes para a guerra?
How can you say, "We are mighty men, and valiant men for the war?"
15 Já está destruído Moab, e subiu das suas cidades, e os seus mancebos escolhidos desceram à matança, diz o rei, cujo nome é o Senhor dos exércitos.
Moab is laid waste, and they are gone up into his cities, and his chosen young men are gone down to the slaughter,' says the King, whose name is Jehovah of hosts.
16 Já é chegada a vinda da perdição de Moab; e apressura-se muito o seu mal
The calamity of Moab is near to come, and his affliction hurries fast.
17 Condoei-vos dele todos os que estais em redor dele, e todos os que sabeis o seu nome: dizei: Como se quebrou a vara forte, o cajado formoso?
All you who are around him, bemoan him, and all you who know his name; say, "How is the strong staff broken, the beautiful rod."
18 Desce da tua glória, e assenta-te em seco, ó moradora, filha de Dibon; porque já o destruidor de Moab subiu contra ti, e já desfez as tuas fortalezas.
You daughter who dwells in Dibon, come down from your glory, and sit in thirst; for the destroyer of Moab has come up against you, he has destroyed your strongholds.
19 Põe-te no caminho, e espia, ó moradora de Aroer: pergunta ao que vai fugindo; e à que escapou dize: Que sucedeu?
Inhabitant of Aroer, stand by the way, and watch: ask him who flees, and her who escapes; say, "What has been done?"
20 Moab está envergonhado, porque foi quebrantado; uivai e gritai: anunciai em Arnon que já Moab está destruído.
"Moab is disappointed; for it is broken down: wail and cry; tell it by the Arnon, that Moab is laid waste."
21 Também o juízo veio sobre a terra da campina: sobre Holon, e sobre Jaza, e sobre Mephaat,
Judgment has come on the plain country, on Holon, and on Jahzah, and on Mephaath,
22 E sobre Dibon, e sobre Nebo, e sobre Beth-diblataim,
and on Dibon, and on Nebo, and on Beth Diblathaim,
23 E sobre Kiriathaim, e sobre Beth-gamul, e sobre Beth-meon,
and on Kiriathaim, and on Beth Gamul, and on Beth Meon,
24 E sobre Kerioth, e sobre Bozra; e até sobre todas as cidades da terra de Moab, as de longe e as de perto.
and on Kerioth, and on Bozrah, and on all the cities of the land of Moab, far or near.
25 Já é cortado o corno de Moab, e é quebrantado o seu braço, diz o Senhor.
The horn of Moab is cut off, and his arm is broken,' says Jehovah.
26 Embriagai-o, porque contra o Senhor se engrandeceu; e Moab se revolverá no seu vômito, e ele também será por escarneio.
'Make him drunk; for he magnified himself against Jehovah: and Moab shall wallow in his vomit, and he also shall be in derision.
27 Porque não te foi também Israel por escarneio? porventura foi achado entre ladrões, porque desde que falas dele te ris?
For wasn't Israel a derision to you? Was he found among thieves? For as often as you speak of him, you shake your head.
28 Deixai as cidades, e habitai no rochedo, ó moradores de Moab; e sede como a pomba que se aninha nas extremidades da boca da caverna.
You inhabitants of Moab, leave the cities, and dwell in the rock; and be like the dove that makes her nest over the mouth of the abyss.
29 Já ouvimos a soberba de Moab, que é soberbíssimo, como também a sua arrogância, e a sua soberba, e sua altivez e a altura do seu coração.
We have heard of the pride of Moab--he is very proud--of his pride, and his vanity, and his arrogance, and the haughtiness of his heart.
30 Eu conheço, diz o Senhor, a sua indignação, porém assim não será: as suas mentiras não o farão assim.
I know his wrath,' says Jehovah, 'that it is nothing; his boastings have worked nothing.
31 Por isso uivarei por Moab, e gritarei por todo o Moab: pelos homens de Kir-heres gemerão.
therefore I will wail for Moab; yes, I will cry out for all Moab; I will mourn for the men of Kir Heres.
32 Com o choro de Jaezar chorar-te-ei, ó vide de Sibma; já os teus ramos passaram o mar, e chegaram até ao mar de Jaezer; porém o destruidor caiu sobre os frutos do teu verão, e sobre a tua vindima.
With more than the weeping of Jazer will I weep for you, vine of Sibmah: your branches passed over the sea, they reached even to Jazer; on your summer fruits and on your vintage the destroyer is fallen.
33 Tirou-se pois o folguedo e a alegria do campo fértil e da terra de Moab; porque fiz cessar o vinho dos lagares: já não pisarão uvas com júbilo: o júbilo não será júbilo.
Gladness and joy is taken away from the fruitful field and from the land of Moab; and I have caused wine to cease from the wine presses: none shall tread with shouting; the shouting shall be no shouting.
34 Por causa do grito de Hesbon até Eleale e até Jahaz, deram a sua voz desde Zoar, até Horonaim, como bezerra de três anos; porque até as águas do Nimrim se tornarão em assolações.
From the cry of Heshbon even to Elealeh, even to Jahaz have they uttered their voice, from Zoar even to Horonaim, to Eglath Shelishiyah: for the waters of Nimrim also shall become desolate.
35 E farei cessar em Moab, diz o Senhor, quem sacrifique no alto, e queime incenso aos seus deuses.
And I will cause to cease in Moab,' says Jehovah, 'the one who offers sacrifice upon the high place, and the one who burns incense to his gods.
36 Por isso resoará o meu coração por Moab como frautas; também resoará o meu coração pelos homens de Kir-heres como frautas; porquanto a abundância que ajuntou se perdeu.
Therefore my heart sounds for Moab like pipes, and my heart sounds like pipes for the men of Kir Heres: therefore the abundance that he has gotten is perished.
37 Porque toda a cabeça será calva, e toda a barba será diminuida; sobre todas as mãos há sarjaduras, e sobre os lombos sacos.
For every head is bald, and every beard clipped: on all the hands are cuttings, and on the waist sackcloth.
38 Sobre todos os telhados de Moab e nas suas ruas haverá um pranto geral; porque quebrantei a Moab, como a um vaso que não agrada, diz o Senhor.
On all the housetops of Moab and in its streets there is lamentation every where; for I have broken Moab like a vessel in which none delights,' says Jehovah.
39 Como foi quebrantado? uivam: como virou Moab as costas e se envergonhou? assim será Moab objeto de escarneio e de espanto a todos os que estão em redor dele.
How it is broken down. How they wail. How Moab has turned the back with shame. So shall Moab become a derision and a terror to all who are around him.'
40 Porque assim diz o Senhor: Eis que voará como a águia, e estenderá as suas asas sobre Moab.
For thus says Jehovah: 'Look, he shall fly as an eagle, and shall spread out his wings against Moab.
41 Já são tomadas as cidades, e ocupadas as fortalezas: e será o coração dos valentes de Moab naquele dia como o coração da mulher que está com dores de parto
Kerioth is taken, and the strongholds are seized, and the heart of the mighty men of Moab at that day shall be as the heart of a woman in her pangs.
42 E Moab será destruído, para que não seja povo; porque se engrandeceu contra o Senhor.
Moab shall be destroyed from being a people, because he has magnified himself against Jehovah.
43 Temor, e cova, e laço, veem sobre ti, ó morador de Moab, diz o Senhor.
Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are on you, inhabitant of Moab, says Jehovah.
44 O que fugir do temor cairá na cova, e o que subir da cova ficará preso no laço; porque trarei sobre ele, sobre Moab, o ano da sua visitação, diz o Senhor.
He who flees from the fear shall fall into the pit; and he who gets up out of the pit shall be taken in the snare: for I will bring on him, even on Moab, the year of their visitation,' says Jehovah.
45 Os que fugiam da força pararam à sombra de Hesbon; porém fogo saiu de Hesbon, e a labareda do meio de Sihon, e devorou o canto de Moab e a mioleira dos filhos de arroido.
'Those who fled stand without strength under the shadow of Heshbon; for a fire has gone forth out of Heshbon, and a flame from the city of Sihon, and it has destroyed the forehead of Moab, and the crown of the sons of tumult.
46 Ai de ti, Moab; já pereceu o povo de Camos; porque teus filhos foram levados em cativeiro, como também tuas filhas em captividade.
Woe to you, O Moab. The people of Chemosh is undone; for your sons are taken away captive, and your daughters into captivity.
47 Porém farei voltar os cativos de Moab no último dos dias, diz o Senhor. Até aqui o juízo de Moab.
Yet will I bring back the captivity of Moab in the latter days,' says Jehovah. Thus far is the judgment of Moab."
