Jeremias 47
1 A palavra do Senhor, que veio a Jeremias, o profeta, contra os philisteus, antes que faraó ferisse a Gaza.
Which it came [the] word of Yahweh to Jeremiah the prophet concerning [the] Philistines before he struck Pharaoh Gaza.
2 Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que se levantam as águas do norte, e tornar-se-ão em torrente transbordante, e alagarão a terra e sua plenitude, a cidade, e os que moram nela; e os homens clamarão, e todos os moradores da terra uivarão;
Thus - he says Yahweh here! waters [are] rising from [the] north and they will become a torrent overflowing and they may overflow a land and what fills it a city and [those who] dwell in it and they will cry out everyone and he will wail every inhabitant of the land.
3 Por causa do som do estrépito das unhas dos seus fortes cavalos, por causa do arroido de seus carros e do estrondo das suas rodas: os pais não atenderam aos filhos, por causa da fraqueza das mãos;
From [the] sound of [the] stamping of [the] hooves of mighty [horses] its from [the] rattling of chariotry its [the] din of wheels its not they have turned back fathers to children from slackness of hands.
4 Por causa do dia que vem, para destruir a todos os philisteus, para cortar a Tiro e a Sidon todo o resto que os socorra; porque o Senhor destruirá os philisteus, o resto da ilha de Caphtor.
On the day which is coming to devastate all [the] Philistines to cut off to Tyre and to Sidon every survivor helping for [is] about to devastate Yahweh [the] Philistines [the] remnant of [the] coastland of Caphtor.
5 A rapadura veio sobre Gaza, foi desarreigada Ascalon, com o resto do seu vale: até quando te sarjarás?

6 Ah espada do Senhor! até quando deixarás de repousar? volta para a tua bainha, descança, e aquieta-te.
Alas! O sword of Yahweh until when? not you will be inactive gather yourself to sheath your rest and be still.
7 Mas como te aquietarias? pois o Senhor deu-lhe mandado contra Ascalon, e contra as bordas do mar: e ali lho tem prescrito.
How? will you be inactive and Yahweh he has commanded it against Ashkelon and against [the] coast of the sea there he has appointed it.
