Jeremias 25

1 A palavra que veio a Jeremias acerca de todo o povo de Judá no ano quarto de Joaquim, filho de Josias, rei de Judá (que é o primeiro ano de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babylonia),

The word that came to Jeremias concerning all the people of Juda, in the fourth year of Joakim the son of Josias king of Juda, (the same is the first year of Nabuchodonosor king of Babylon, )

2 A qual falou o profeta Jeremias a todo o povo de Judá, e a todos os habitantes de Jerusalém, dizendo:

Which Jeremias the prophet spoke to all the people of Juda, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying:

3 Desde o ano treze de Josias, filho de Ammon, rei de Judá, até este dia (que é o ano vinte e três), veio a mim a palavra do Senhor, e vo-la falei a vós, madrugando e falando; porém não escutastes.

From the thirteenth year of Josias the son of Ammon king of Juda until this day: this is the three and twentieth year, the word of the Lord hath come to me, and I have spoken to you, rising before day, and speaking, and you have not hearkened.

4 Também vos enviou o Senhor todos os seus servos, os profetas, madrugando e enviando-os (porém não escutastes, nem inclinastes os vossos ouvidos para ouvir),

And the Lord hath sent to you all his servants the prophets, rising early, and sending, and you have not hearkened, nor inclined your ears to hear.

5 Dizendo: Convertei-vos agora cada um do seu mau caminho, e da maldade das suas ações, e habitai na terra que vos deu o Senhor, e a vossos pais, de século em século;

When he said: Return ye, every one from his evil way, and from your wicked devices, and you shall dwell in the land which the Lord hath given to you, and your fathers for ever and ever.

6 E não andeis após deuses alheios para os servirdes, e para vos inclinardes diante deles, nem me provoqueis à ira com a obra de vossas mãos, para que vos não faça mal.

And go not after strange gods to serve them, and adore them: nor provoke me to wrath by the works of your hands, and I will not afflict you.

7 Porém não me destes ouvidos, diz o Senhor, para me provocardes à ira com a obra de vossas mãos, para vosso mal.

And you have not heard me, saith the Lord, that you might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, to your own hurt.

8 Portanto assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Porquanto não escutastes as minhas palavras,

Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts: Because you have not heard my words:

9 Eis que eu enviarei, e tomarei a todas as gerações do norte, diz o Senhor, como também a Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, meu servo, e os trarei sobre esta terra, e sobre os seus moradores, e sobre todas estas nações em redor, e os destruirei totalmente, e pô-los-ei em espanto, e em assobio, e em perpétuos desertos.

Behold I will send, and take all the kindreds of the north, saith the Lord, and Nabuchodonosor the king of Babylon my servant: and I will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all the nations that are round about it: and I will destroy them, and make them an astonishment and a hissing, and perpetual desolations.

10 E farei perecer dentre eles a voz de folguedo, e a voz de alegria, a voz do esposo, e a voz da esposa, como também o som das mós, e a luz do candieiro.

And I will take away from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the mill, and the light of the lamp.

11 E toda esta terra virá a ser um deserto e um espanto: e estas nações servirão ao rei de Babilônia setenta anos.

And all this land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment: and all these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

12 Será, porém, que, quando se cumprirem os setenta anos, então visitarei sobre o rei de Babilônia, e sobre esta nação, diz o Senhor, a sua iniquidade, e sobre a terra dos caldeus; farei deles uns desertos perpétuos.

And when the seventy years shall be expired, I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the Lord, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans: and I will make it perpetual desolations.

13 E trarei sobre esta terra todas as minhas palavras, que falei contra ela, a saber, tudo quanto está escrito neste livro, que profetizou Jeremias contra todas estas nações.

And I will bring upon the land all my words, that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, all that Jeremias hath prophesied against all nations:

14 Porque também deles se servirão muitas nações e grandes reis: assim lhes pagarei segundo os seus feitos, e segundo as obras das suas mãos.

For they have served them, whereas they were many nations, and great kings: and I will repay them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their hands.

15 Porque assim me disse o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: Toma da minha mão este copo do vinho do furor, e darás a beber dele a todas as nações, às quais eu te enviarei.

For thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Take the cup of wine of this fury at my hand: and thou shalt make all nations to drink thereof, unto which I shall send thee.

16 Para que bebam e tremam, e enlouqueçam, por causa da espada, que eu enviarei entre eles.

And they shall drink, and be troubled, and be mad because of the sword, which I shall send among them.

17 E tomei o copo da mão do Senhor, e dei a beber a todas as nações, às quais o Senhor me tinha enviado:

And I took the cup at the hand of the Lord, and I presented it to all the nations to drink of it, to which the Lord sent me:

18 A Jerusalém, e às cidades de Judá, e aos seus reis, e aos seus príncipes, para fazer deles um deserto, um espanto, um assobio, e uma maldição, como hoje se vê

To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Juda, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof: to make them a desolation, and an astonishment, and a hissing, and a curse, as it is at this day.

19 Como também a faraó, rei do Egito, e a seus servos, e a seus príncipes, e a todo o seu povo;

Pharao the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people,

20 E a toda a mistura de gente, e a todos os reis da terra de Uz, e a todos os reis da terra dos philisteus, e a Asquelon, e a Gaza, e a Ecron, e ao resto de Asdod,

And all in general: all the kings of the land of Ausitis, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ascalon, and Gaza, and Accaron, and the remnant of Azotus.

21 E a Edom, e a Moab, e aos filhos de Ammon;

And Edom, and Moab, and the children of Ammon.

22 E a todos os reis de Tiro, e a todos os reis de Sidon; e aos reis das ilhas que estão de além do mar;

And all the kings of Tyre, and all the kings of Sidon: and the kings of the land of the islands that are beyond the sea.

23 A Dedan, e a Tema, e a Buz e a todos os que habitam nos últimos cantos da terra;

And Dedan, and Thema, and Buz, and all that have their hair cut round.

24 E a todos os reis da Arábia, e todos os reis da mistura de gentia que habita no deserto;

And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the west, that dwell in the desert.

25 E a todos os reis de Zimri, e a todos os reis de Elam, e a todos os reis da Media:

And all the kings of Zambri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of Medes:

26 E a todos os reis do norte, os de perto, e os de longe, um com outro, e a todos os reinos da terra, que estão sobre a face da terra, e o rei de Sheshach beberá depois deles.

And all the kings of the north far and near, every one against his brother: and all the kingdoms of the earth, which are upon the face thereof: and the king of Sesac shall drink after them.

27 Pois lhes dirás: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos, o Deus de Israel: Bebei, e embebedai-vos, e vomitai, e caí, e não torneis a levantar-vos, por causa da espada que eu enviarei entre vós.

And thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts the God of Israel: Drink ye, and be drunken, and vomit: and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword, which I shall send among you.

28 E será que, se não quizerem tomar o copo da tua mão para beber, então lhes dirás: Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Certamente bebereis.

And if they refuse to take the cup at thy hand to drink, thou shalt say to them: Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Drinking you shall drink:

29 Porque, eis que na cidade que se chama pelo meu nome começo a castigar; e serieis vós totalmente inocentes? não sereis inocentes; porque eu chamo a espada sobre todos os moradores da terra, diz o Senhor dos exércitos.

For behold I begin to bring evil on the city wherein my name is called upon: and shall you be as innocent and escape free? you shall not escape free: for I will call for the sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the Lord of hosts.

30 Tu pois lhes profetizarás todas estas palavras, e lhes dirás: O Senhor desde o alto bramará, e dará a sua voz desde a morada da sua santidade: terrivelmente bramará contra a sua habitação, e com grito de alegria, como dos que pizam as uvas, contra todos os moradores da terra.

And thou shalt prophesy unto them all these words, and thou shalt say to them: The Lord shall roar from on high, and shall utter his voice from his holy habitation: roaring he shall roar upon the place of his beauty: the shout as it were of them that tread grapes shall be given out against all the inhabitants of the earth.

31 Chegará o estrondo até à extremidade da terra, porque o Senhor tem contenda com as nações, entrará em juízo com toda a carne: os ímpios entregará à espada, diz o Senhor.

The noise is come even to the ends of the earth: for the Lord entereth into judgement with the nations: he entereth into judgement with all flesh; the wicked I have delivered up to the sword, saith the Lord.

32 Assim diz o Senhor dos exércitos: Eis que o mal sai de nação a nação, e grande tormenta se levantará das ilhargas da terra.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Behold evil shall go forth from nation to nation: and a great whirlwind shall go forth from the ends of the earth.

33 E serão os mortos do Senhor, naquele dia, desde uma extremidade da terra até à outra extremidade da terra: não serão pranteados, nem recolhidos, nem sepultados; mas estarão por esterco sobre a face da terra

And the slain of the Lord shall be at that day from one end of the earth even to the other end thereof: they shall not be lamented, and they shall not be gathered up, nor buried: they shall lie as dung upon the face of the earth.

34 Uivai, pastores, e clamai, e rebolai-vos na cinza, honrados do rebanho, porque já se cumpriram os vossos dias para vos matar, e eu vos quebrantarei, e vós então caireis como um vaso precioso.

Howl, ye shepherds, and cry: and sprinkle yourselves with ashes, ye leaders of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and your dispersion are accomplished, and you shall fall like precious vessels.

35 E não haverá fugida para os pastores, nem salvamento para os honrados do rebanho.

And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the leaders of the flock to save themselves.

36 Voz de grito dos pastores, e uivo dos honrados do rebanho; porque o Senhor destruiu o pasto deles.

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and a howling of the principal of the flock: because the Lord hath wasted their pastures.

37 Porque as suas malhadas pacíficas serão desarraigadas, por causa do furor da ira do Senhor.

And the fields of peace have been silent, because of the fierce anger of the Lord.

38 Desamparou a sua cabana, como o filho de leão; porque a sua terra foi posta em assolação, por causa do furor do opressor, e por causa do furor da sua ira.

He has forsaken his covert as the lion, for the land is laid waste because of the wrath of the dove, and because of the fierce anger of the Lord.
