Jeremias 21
1 A palavra que veio a Jeremias da parte do Senhor, quando o rei Zedekias lhe enviou a Pashur, filho de Malchias, e a Zephanias filho de maaseia, o sacerdote, dizendo:
The word which was maad of the Lord to Jeremye, whanne king Sedechie sente to hym Phassur, the sone of Helchie, and Sofonye, the preest, the sone of Maasie, and seide,
2 Pergunta agora por nós ao Senhor; porque Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, guerreia contra nós: bem pode ser que o Senhor obre conosco segundo todas as suas maravilhas, e o faça subir de nós.
Axe thou the Lord for vs, for Nabugodonosor, the kyng of Babiloyne, fiytith ayens vs; if in hap the Lord do with vs bi alle hise merueilis, and he go awei fro vs.
3 Então Jeremias lhes disse: Assim direis a Zedekias:
And Jeremye seide to hem, Thus ye schulen seie to Sedechie,
4 Assim diz o Senhor, o Deus de Israel: Eis que virarei contra vós as armas de guerra, que estão nas vossas mãos, com que vós pelejais contra o rei de Babilônia, e contra os caldeus, que vos tem cercado de fora do muro, e ajunta-los-ei no meio desta cidade.
The Lord God of Israel seith these thingis, Lo! Y schal turne the instrumentis of batel that ben in youre hondis, and with which ye fiyten ayens the king of Babiloyne, and ayens Caldeis, that bisegen you in the cumpas of wallis; and Y schal gadere tho togidere in the myddis of this citee.
5 E eu pelejarei contra vós com mão estendida, e com braço forte, e com ira, e com indignação e com grande furor.
And Y schal ouercome you in hond stretchid forth, and in strong arm, and in stronge veniaunce, and indignacioun, and in greet wraththe;
6 E ferirei os habitantes desta cidade, assim os homens como as bestas: de grande pestilência morrerão.
and Y schal smyte the dwelleris of this citee, men and beestis schulen die bi greet pestilence.
7 E depois disto, diz o Senhor, entregarei Zedekias, rei de Judá, e seus servos, e o povo, e os que desta cidade restarem da pestilência, e da espada, e da fome, na mão de Nabucodonozor, rei de Babilônia, e na mão de seus inimigos, e na mão dos que buscam a sua vida; e feri-los-á ao fio da espada: não os poupará, nem se compadecerá, nem terá misericórdia.
And after these thingis, seith the Lord, Y schal yyue Sedechie, kyng of Juda, and hise seruauntis, and his puple, and that ben left in this citee fro pestilence, and swerd, and hungur, in the hond of Nabugodonosor, kyng of Babiloyne, and in the hond of her enemyes, and in the hond of men sekynge the lijf of hem; and he schal smyte hem bi the scharpnesse of swerd; and he schal not be bowid, nether schal spare, nether schal haue mercy.
8 E a este povo dirás: Assim diz o Senhor: Eis que ponho diante de vós o caminho da vida e o caminho da morte.
And thou schalt seie to this puple, The Lord God seith these thingis, Lo! Y yyue bifore you the weie of lijf, and the weie of deth.
9 O que ficar nesta cidade há de morrer à espada, ou à fome, ou da pestilência; porém o que sair, e se render aos caldeus, que vos tem cercado, viverá, e terá a sua vida por despojo.
He that dwellith in this citee, schal die bi swerd, and hungur, and pestilence; but he that goith out, and fleeth ouer to Caldeis that bisegen you, schal lyue, and his lijf schal be as a prey to hym.
10 Porque pus o meu rosto contra esta cidade para mal, e não para bem, diz o Senhor: na mão do rei de Babilônia se entregará, e queima-la-á a fogo.
For Y haue set my face on this citee in to yuel, and not in to good, seith the Lord; it schal be youun in the hond of the king of Babiloyne, and he schal brenne it with fier.
11 E à casa do rei de Judá dirás: Ouvi a palavra do Senhor:
And thou schalt seie to the hous of the king of Juda, the hous of Dauid, Here ye the word of the Lord.
12 Ó casa de David, assim diz o Senhor: julgai pela manhã justamente, e livrai o roubado da mão do opressor; para que não saia o meu furor como fogo, e se acenda, sem que haja quem o apague, por causa da maldade de vossas ações.
The Lord seith these thingis, Deme ye eerli doom, and delyuere ye hym that is oppressid bi violence fro the hond of the fals chalenger; lest perauenture myn indignacioun go out as fier, and be kyndlid, and noon be that quenche, for the malice of youre studies.
13 Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó moradora do vale, ó rocha da campina, diz o Senhor: os que dizeis: Quem descerá contra nós? ou, Quem entrará nas nossas moradas?
Lo! Y to thee, dwelleresse of the sad valei and pleyn, seith the Lord, which seien, Who schal smyte vs, and who schal entre in to oure housis?
14 Porém farei visitação sobre vós segundo o fruto das vossas ações, diz o Senhor; e acenderei o fogo no seu bosque, que consumirá a tudo o que está em redor dela.
And Y schal visite on you bi the fruyt of youre studies, seith the Lord; and Y schal kyndle fier in the forest therof, and it schal deuoure alle thingis in the cumpas therof.
