Isaías 7
1 Sucedeu pois nos dias de Achaz, filho de Jothão, filho d'Uzias, rei de Judá, que Resin, rei da Síria, e Peka, filho de Remalias, rei de Israel, subiram a Jerusalém, para pelejar contra ela, porém, pelejando, nada puderam contra ela.
Now in the days that Ahaz son of Jotham, the son of Uzziah, was king of Judah, Rezin king of Aram marched up to wage war against Jerusalem. He was accompanied by Pekah son of Remaliah the king of Israel, but he could not overpower the city.
2 E deram aviso à casa de David, dizendo: A Síria repousa sobre Ephraim. Então se comoveu o seu coração, e o coração do seu povo, como se comovem as árvores do bosque com o vento
When it was reported to the house of David that Aram was in league with Ephraim, the hearts of Ahaz and his people trembled like trees in the forest shaken by the wind.
3 Então disse o Senhor a Isaias: Agora tu e teu filho Sear-jasub saí ao encontro de Achaz, ao fim do canal do viveiro superior, ao caminho do campo do lavandeiro.
Then the LORD said to Isaiah, “Go out with your son Shear-jashub to meet Ahaz at the end of the aqueduct that feeds the upper pool, on the road to the Launderer’s Field,
4 E dize-lhe: Guarda-te, e está descançado, não temas, nem se desanime o teu coração por causa destes dois rabos de tições fumegantes, por causa do ardor da ira de Resin, e da Síria, e do filho de Remalias.
and say to him: Calm down and be quiet. Do not be afraid or disheartened over these two smoldering stubs of firewood—over the fierce anger of Rezin and Aram and of the son of Remaliah.
5 Porquanto a Síria teve contra ti maligno conselho, com Ephraim, e com o filho de Remalias, dizendo:
For Aram, along with Ephraim and the son of Remaliah, has plotted your ruin, saying:
6 Vamos subir contra Judá, e despertemo-lo, e repartamo-lo entre nós, e façamos reinar no meio dele como rei o filho de Tabeal.
‘Let us invade Judah, terrorize it, and divide it among ourselves. Then we can install the son of Tabeal over it as king.’
7 Assim diz o Senhor Deus: Isto não subsistirá, nem tão pouco acontecerá.
But this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘It will not arise; it will not happen.
8 Porém o cabeça da Síria será Damasco, e o cabeça de Damasco Resin: e dentro de sessenta e cinco anos Ephraim será quebrantado, e deixará de ser povo.
For the head of Aram is Damascus, and the head of Damascus is Rezin. Within sixty-five years Ephraim will be shattered as a people.
9 Entretanto o cabeça de Ephraim será Samaria, e o cabeça de Samaria o filho de Remalias: se o não crerdes, deveras não ficareis firmes.
The head of Ephraim is Samaria, and the head of Samaria is the son of Remaliah. If you do not stand firm in your faith, then you will not stand at all.’”
10 E continuou o Senhor a falar com Achaz, dizendo:
Again the LORD spoke to Ahaz, saying,
11 Pede para ti ao Senhor teu Deus um sinal; pede-o ou em baixo nas profundezas ou em cima nas alturas. (Sheol h7585)
“Ask for a sign from the LORD your God, whether from the depths of Sheol or the heights of heaven.” (Sheol h7585)
12 Porém disse Achaz: Não o pedirei, nem tentarei ao Senhor.
But Ahaz replied, “I will not ask; I will not test the LORD.”
13 Então disse: Ouvi agora, ó casa de David: Pouco vos é afadigardes os homens, senão que ainda afadigareis também ao meu Deus?
Then Isaiah said, “Hear now, O house of David! Is it not enough to try the patience of men? Will you try the patience of my God as well?
14 Portanto o mesmo Senhor vos dará um sinal: Eis que a virgem conceberá, e parirá um filho, e chamará o seu nome Emanuel.
Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call Him Immanuel.
15 Manteiga e mel comerá, até que ele saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem.
By the time He knows enough to reject evil and choose good, He will be eating curds and honey.
16 Na verdade, antes que este menino saiba rejeitar o mal e escolher o bem, a terra de que te enfadas será desamparada dos seus dois reis.
For before the boy knows enough to reject evil and choose good, the land of the two kings you dread will be laid waste.
17 Porém o Senhor fará vir sobre ti, e sobre o teu povo, e sobre a casa de teu pai, dias tais, quais nunca vieram, desde o dia em que Ephraim se desviou de Judá, pelo rei d'Assyria.
The LORD will bring on you and on your people and on the house of your father a time unlike any since the day Ephraim separated from Judah—He will bring the king of Assyria.”
18 Porque há de acontecer que naquele dia assobiará o Senhor às moscas, que há no extremo dos rios do Egito, e às abelhas que andam na terra da Assyria;
On that day the LORD will whistle to the flies at the farthest streams of the Nile and to the bees in the land of Assyria.
19 E virão, e pousarão todas nos vales desertos e nas fendas das penhas, e em todos os espinhos e em todas as florestas.
And they will all come and settle in the steep ravines and clefts of the rocks, in all the thornbushes and watering holes.
20 Naquele dia rapará o Senhor com uma navalha alugada, que está de além do rio, com o rei da Assyria, a cabeça e os cabelos dos pés: e até a barba totalmente tirará.
On that day the Lord will use a razor hired from beyond the Euphrates —the king of Assyria—to shave your head and the hair of your legs, and to remove your beard as well.
21 E sucederá naquele dia que alguém criará uma vaca e duas ovelhas:
On that day a man will raise a young cow and two sheep,
22 E acontecerá que por causa da abundância do leite que lhe derem comerá manteiga; e manteiga e mel comerá todo aquele que ficar de resto no meio da terra.
and from the abundance of milk they give, he will eat curds; for all who remain in the land will eat curds and honey.
23 Sucederá também naquele dia que todo o lugar, em que houver mil vides, do valor de mil moedas de prata, será para as sarças e para os espinheiros.
And on that day, in every place that had a thousand vines worth a thousand shekels of silver, only briers and thorns will be found.
24 Com arco e flechas se entrará nele, porque toda a terra será sarças e espinheiros.
Men will go there with bow and arrow, for the land will be covered with briers and thorns.
25 E também todos os montes, que costumam cavar com enxadas, se não irá a eles por causa do temor das sarças e dos espinheiros, porém servirão para enviarem ali bois e serem pisados do gado miúdo.
For fear of the briers and thorns, you will no longer traverse the hills once tilled by the hoe; they will become places for oxen to graze and sheep to trample.
