Isaías 48
1 Ouvi isto, casa de Jacob, que vos chamais do nome de Israel, e saístes das águas de Judá, que jurais pelo nome do Senhor, e fazeis menção do Deus de Israel, porém não em verdade nem em justiça.
“Listen to this, O house of Jacob, you who are called by the name of Israel, who have descended from the line of Judah, who swear by the name of the LORD, who invoke the God of Israel— but not in truth or righteousness—
2 E até da santa cidade se nomeiam, e se firmam sobre o Deus de Israel; o Senhor dos exércitos é o seu nome.
who indeed call yourselves after the holy city and lean on the God of Israel; the LORD of Hosts is His name.
3 As coisas passadas já desde então anunciei, e procederam da minha boca, e eu as fiz ouvir: apressuradamente as fiz, e vieram.
I foretold the former things long ago; they came out of My mouth and I proclaimed them. Suddenly I acted, and they came to pass.
4 Porque eu sabia que eras duro, e a tua cerviz um nervo de ferro, e a tua testa de bronze.
For I knew that you are stubborn; your neck is iron and your forehead is bronze.
5 Por isso to anunciei desde então, e to fiz ouvir antes que viesse, para que porventura não dissesses: O meu ídolo fez estas coisas, ou a minha imagem de escultura, ou a minha imagem de fundição as mandou.
Therefore I declared it to you long ago; I announced it before it came to pass, so that you could not claim, ‘My idol has done this; my carved image and molten god has ordained it.’
6 Já o tens ouvido; olha bem para tudo isto; porventura assim vós o não anunciareis? desde agora te faço ouvir coisas novas e ocultas, e que nunca conheceste.
You have heard these things; look at them all. Will you not acknowledge them? From now on I will tell you of new things, hidden things unknown to you.
7 Agora foram criadas, e não desde então, e antes deste dia não as ouviste, para que porventura não digas: Eis que já eu as sabia.
They are created now, and not long ago; you have not heard of them before today. So you cannot claim, ‘I already knew them!’
8 Nem tu as ouviste, nem tu as conheceste, nem tão pouco desde então foi aberto o teu ouvido, porque eu sabia que obrarias muito perfidamente, e que foste chamado prevaricador desde o ventre.
You have never heard; you have never understood; for a long time your ears have not been open. For I knew how deceitful you are; you have been called a rebel from birth.
9 Por amor do meu nome dilatarei a minha ira, e por amor do meu louvor me refrearei para contigo, para que te não venha a cortar.
For the sake of My name I will delay My wrath; for the sake of My praise I will restrain it, so that you will not be cut off.
10 Eis que já te purifiquei, porém não como a prata: escolhi-te na fornalha da aflição.
See, I have refined you, but not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction.
11 Por amor de mim, por amor de mim o farei, porque como seria profanado o meu nome? e a minha honra não a darei a outrem.
For My own sake, My very own sake, I will act; for how can I let Myself be defamed? I will not yield My glory to another.
12 Dá-me ouvidos, ó Jacob, e tu, ó Israel, a quem chamei; eu sou o mesmo, eu o primeiro, eu também o último.
Listen to Me, O Jacob, and Israel, whom I have called: I am He; I am the first, and I am the last.
13 Também a minha mão fundou a terra, e a minha dextra mediu os céus a palmos; eu os chamarei, e aparecerão juntos.
Surely My own hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they stand up together.
14 Ajuntai-vos todos vós, e ouvi: Quem há, dentre eles, que anunciasse estas coisas? O Senhor o amou, e executará a sua vontade contra Babilônia, e o seu braço será contra os caldeus.
Come together, all of you, and listen: Which of the idols has foretold these things? The LORD’s chosen ally will carry out His desire against Babylon, and His arm will be against the Chaldeans.
15 Eu, eu o tenho dito; também já eu o chamei, e o farei vir, e farei próspero o seu caminho.
I, even I, have spoken; yes, I have called him. I have brought him, and he will succeed in his mission.
16 Chegai-vos a mim, ouvi isto: Não falei em oculto desde o princípio, mas desde o tempo em que aquilo se fez eu estava ali, e agora o Senhor Jehovah me enviou o seu espírito.
Come near to Me and listen to this: From the beginning I have not spoken in secret; from the time it happened, I was there.” And now the Lord GOD has sent me, accompanied by His Spirit.
17 Assim diz o Senhor, o teu redentor, o Santo de Israel: Eu sou o Senhor, o teu Deus, que te ensina o que é útil, e te guia pelo caminho em que deves andar.
Thus says the LORD your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you for your benefit, who directs you in the way you should go.
18 Ah! se deras ouvidos aos meus mandamentos! então seria a tua paz como o rio, e a tua justiça como as ondas do mar.
If only you had paid attention to My commandments, your peace would have been like a river, and your righteousness like waves of the sea.
19 Também a tua semente seria como a areia, e os que procedem das tuas entranhas como o burgalhão dela, cujo nome nunca seria cortado nem destruído da minha face.
Your descendants would have been as countless as the sand, and your offspring as numerous as its grains; their name would never be cut off or eliminated from My presence.”
20 Saí de Babilônia, fugi de entre os caldeus. E anunciai com voz de júbilo; fazei ouvir isso, e levai-o até ao fim da terra: dizei: O Senhor remiu a seu servo Jacob.
Leave Babylon! Flee from the Chaldeans! Declare it with a shout of joy, proclaim it, let it go out to the ends of the earth, saying, “The LORD has redeemed His servant Jacob!”
21 E não tinham sede, quando os levava pelos desertos; fez-lhes correr água da rocha: fendendo ele as rochas, as águas manavam delas.
They did not thirst when He led them through the deserts; He made water flow for them from the rock; He split the rock, and water gushed out.
22 Porém os ímpios não tem paz, disse o Senhor.
“There is no peace,” says the LORD, “for the wicked.”
