Isaías 33
1 Ai de ti desolador, que não foste desolado, e que obras perfidamente contra os que não obraram perfidamente contra ti! acabando tu de desolar, serás desolado: e, acabando tu de tratar perfidamente, se tratará perfidamente contra ti.
Alas! thou plunderer when, thou, hadst not been plundered, And thou traitor when they had not betrayed thee: When thou hast ceased plundering, thou shalt be plundered, When thou hast left off betraying, they shall betray thee.
2 Senhor, tem misericórdia de nós, por ti temos esperado: sê tu o seu braço nas madrugadas, como também a nossa salvação no tempo da tribulação.
O Yahweh! shew us favour, —For thee, have we waited, —Be thou their arm every morning, Yea our salvation in the time of distress.
3 Á voz do arroido fugirão os povos: à tua exaltação as gentes serão dispersas.
At the noise of a tumult, the peoples retreated, —When thou didst lift thyself up, nations were scattered.
4 Então ajuntar-se-á o vosso despojo como se apanha o pulgão: como os gafanhotos saltam, ali saltará.
Then shall your spoil be gathered as the gathering of the caterpillar, —As the swift running of locusts, is he about to run upon them.
5 O Senhor está exalçado, pois habita nas alturas: encheu a Sião de juízo e justiça.
Exalted is Yahweh, for he inhabiteth a height, —He hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6 E será que a firmeza dos teus tempos, e a força das tuas salvações, será a sabedoria e a ciência: e o temor do Senhor será o seu tesouro.
So shall a wealth of deliverances, wisdom and knowledge, become the stability of thy times, —the reverence of Yahweh, the same is his treasure.
7 Eis que os seus embaixadores estão clamando de fora; e os mensageiros de paz estão chorando amargamente.
Lo! their heroes, have cried out openly, —the messengers of peace, in bitterness, continue weeping [they say]:
8 As estradas estão desoladas, cessam os que passam pelas veredas: desfaz a aliança, despreza as cidades, e a homem nenhum estima.
The highways are deserted, The passer-by on the path, hath ceased, —He hath broken covenant, He hath despised cities, He hath made no account of men.
9 A terra geme e pranteia, o líbano se envergonha e se murcha: Saron se tornou como um deserto; e Basan e Carmelo foram sacudidos.
The land mourneth, languisheth, Lebanon, displayeth shame, is withered, —Sharon, hath become, as the waste plain, And Bashan and Carmel are shaking off their leaves.
10 Agora pois me levantarei, diz o Senhor: agora serei exaltado, agora serei posto em alto.
Now, will I arise, Saith Yahweh, Now, will I lift myself up, Now, will I be exalted!
11 Concebestes palha, parireis pragana: e o vosso espírito vos devorará como fogo.
Ye shall conceive chaff Ye shall bring forth stubble, —Your own breath, like fire, shall devour you.
12 E os povos serão como os incêndios de cal: como espinhos cortados arderão no fogo.
So shall peoples, become, as the burnings of lime, —As thorns lopped off, with fire, shall they be burned.
13 Ouvi, vós os que estais longe, o que tenho feito: e vós, que estais vizinhos, conhecei o meu poder.
Hear—ye that are far off. what I have done, And know—ye that are near my might:
14 Os pecadores de Sião se assombraram, o tremor surpreendeu os hipócritas. Quem dentre nós habitará com o fogo consumidor? quem dentre nós habitará com as labaredas eternas?
Terror-stricken in Zion, —are sinners, Shuddering hath seized the impious, —Who among us can sojourn with a fire that devoureth? Who among us can sojourn with burnings age-abiding?
15 O que anda em justiça, e o que fala equidades; o que arremessa para longe de si o ganho de opressões; o que sacode das suas mãos todo o presente; o que tapa os seus ouvidos para não ouvir acerca de sangue e fecha os seus olhos para não ver o mal
He that walketh righteously, And speaketh uprightly, —He that refuseth the gain of exactions That shaketh his hands free from holding a bribe, That stoppeth his ear from hearkening to deeds of blood, And shutteth his eyes from giving countenance to wrong,
16 Este habitará nas alturas, as fortalezas das rochas serão o seu alto refúgio, o seu pão se lhe dá, as suas águas são certas.
He, the heights, shall inhabit, A stronghold of crags, shall be his refuge, —His bread, hath been delivered, His waters, have been made sure,
17 Os teus olhos verão o Rei na sua formosura, e verão a terra que está longe.
Of a king, in his beauty, shall thine eyes have vision: They shall see a land that stretcheth afar.
18 O teu coração considerará o assombro, dizendo: Onde o escrivão, onde o pagador? onde o que conta as torres?
Thy heart, may murmur in terror, —Where is the scribe? Where—the receiver? Where—he that maketh a list of the towers?
19 Não verás mais aquele povo espantável, povo de fala tão profunda, que não se pode perceber e de língua tão estranha que não se pode entender.
The fierce people, shalt thou not see, —The people of too deep a lip to be understood, of too barbarous a tongue for thee to comprehend.
20 Olha para Sião, a cidade das nossas solenidades: os teus olhos verão a Jerusalém, habitação quieta, tenda que não será derribada, cujas estacas nunca serão arrancadas, e de cujas cordas nenhuma se quebrará.
Look thou on Zion, the city of our appointed feast, —Thine own eyes, shall see Jerusalem—A home of comfort A tent which shall not be packed up—Whose pins shall not be pulled out, for ever, And none of, whose cords, shall be broken.
21 Mas o Senhor ali nos será grandioso, lugar de rios e correntes largas será: barco nenhum de remo passará por eles, nem navio grande navegará por eles.
But, there shall Yahweh be our majestic one, A place of rivers—streams broad on both hands, Wherein shall go no galley with oars, Neither shall majestic ship traverse it;
22 Porque o Senhor é o nosso Juiz: O Senhor é o nosso Legislador: O Senhor é o nosso Rei, ele nos salvará.
For, Yahweh is our judge, Yahweh, is our lawgiver, —Yahweh, is our king, He will save us!
23 As tuas cordas se afrouxaram: não puderam ter firme o seu mastro, e vela não estenderam: então a preza de abundantes despojos se repartirá; e até os coxos roubarão a preza.
Loosed are thy ropes, —They cannot strengthen the socket of their mast They have not unfurled a sail Now, can be apportioned spoil, in abundance, The lame, have captured prey!
24 E morador nenhum dirá: Enfermo estou; porque o povo que habitar nela será absolto de iniquidade.
Neither shall the inhabitant say. I am sick, —the people who dwell therein, have been forgiven iniquity.
