Isaías 30
1 Ai dos filhos que se rebelam, diz o Senhor, que tomaram conselho, mas não de mim; e que se cobriram com cobertura, mas não que venha do meu espírito; para assim acrescentarem pecado sobre pecado.
Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not from me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
2 Que vão descer ao Egito, e não perguntam à minha boca; para se fortificarem com a força de faraó, e para confiarem na sombra do Egito.
That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shade of Egypt!
3 Porque a força de faraó se vos tornará em vergonha, e a confiança na sombra do Egito em confusão.
Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shade of Egypt [your] confusion.
4 Havendo estado os seus príncipes em Zoan, e havendo chegado os seus embaixadores a Hanes,
For his princes were at Zoan, and his embassadors came to Hanes.
5 Então todos se envergonharão de um povo que de nada lhes aproveitará nem de ajuda, nem de proveito, antes de vergonha, e até de opróbrio, lhes servirá.
They were all ashamed of a people [that] could not profit them, nor be a help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
6 Peso das bestas do sul. Para a terra de aflição e de angústia (de onde vem a leoa e o leão, o basilisco, e o áspide ardente voador) levarão às costas de jumentinhos as suas fazendas, e sobre as corcovas de camelos os seus tesouros, a um povo que de nada lhes aproveitará.
The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence [come] the young and the old lion, the viper and flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people [that] shall not profit [them].
7 Porque o Egito os ajudará em vão, e por demais: pelo que clamei acerca disto: No estarem quietos será a sua força.
For the Egyptian shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength [is] to sit still.
8 Vai pois agora, escreve isto numa táboa perante eles, e aponta-o num livro; para que fique firme até ao dia último, para sempre e perpetuamente.
Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
9 Porque um povo rebelde é este, são filhos mentirosos, filhos que não querem ouvir a lei do Senhor.
That this [is] a rebellious people, lying children, children [that] will not hear the law of the LORD:
10 Que dizem aos videntes: Não vejais; e aos que atentam: Não atenteis para nós no que é reto: dizei-nos coisas apráziveis, e vede para nós enganadoras lisonjas.
Who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
11 Desviai-vos do caminho, apartai-vos da vereda: fazei que cesse o Santo de Israel de vir perante nós.
Withdraw from the way, turn aside from the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
12 Pelo que assim diz o Santo de Israel: Porquanto rejeitais esta palavra, e confiais na opressão e perversidade, e sobre isso vos estribais,
Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and lean upon it:
13 Por isso esta maldade vos será como a parede fendida, que vai caindo e já forma barriga desde o mais alto muro, cuja queda virá subitamente num momento.
Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
14 E os quebrará como quebram o vaso do oleiro, e, quebrando-os, não se compadecerá deles: nem ainda um se achará entre os seus pedaços para tomar fogo do lar, ou tirar água da poça
And he shall break it as the breaking of the potter's vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a piece to take fire from the hearth, or to take water out of the pit.
15 Porque assim diz o Senhor Jehovah, o Santo de Israel: Tornando-vos e descançando, ficarieis livres, e no sossego e na confiança estaria a vossa força, porém não quizestes.
For thus saith the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
16 E dizeis: Não; antes sobre cavalos fugiremos; mas por isso mesmo fugireis; e, Sobre cavalos ligeiros cavalgaremos; por isso os vossos perseguidores também serão ligeiros.
But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
17 Mil homens fugirão ao grito dum, e ao grito de cinco todos vós fugireis, até que sejais deixados como o mastro no cume do monte, e como a bandeira no outeiro.
One thousand [shall flee] at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on a hill.
18 Por isso pois o Senhor esperará, para ter misericórdia de vós; e por isso será exalçado, para se compadecer de vós, porque o Senhor é um Deus de equidade: bem-aventurados todos os que o esperam.
And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious to you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD [is] a God of judgment: blessed [are] all they that wait for him.
19 Porque o povo em Sião habitará, em Jerusalém: não chorarás de nenhuma sorte; certamente se compadecerá de ti, à voz do teu clamor, e, ouvindo-a, te responderá.
For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious to thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
20 Bem vos dará o Senhor, pão de angustia e água de aperto, mas os teus doutores nunca mais fugirão de ti, como voando com asas; antes os teus olhos verão a todos os teus mestres.
And [though] the LORD shall give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thy eyes shall see thy teachers:
21 E os teus ouvidos ouvirão a palavra do que está por detraz de ti, dizendo: Este é o caminho, andai nele, sem vos desviardes nem para a direita nem para a esquerda.
And thy ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This [is] the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
22 E terás por contaminadas as coberturas das tuas esculturas de prata, e a coberta das tuas esculturas fundidas de ouro; e as lançarás fora como um pano imundo, e dirás a cada uma delas: fora daqui.
Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a polluted cloth; thou shalt say to it, Be gone from me.
23 Então te dará chuva sobre a tua semente, com que semeares a terra, como também pão da novidade da terra; e esta será fértil e cheia: naquele dia também o teu gado pastará em lugares largos de pasto.
Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, with which thou shalt sow the ground; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
24 E os bois e os jumentinhos que lavram a terra, comerão grão puro, que for padejado com a pá, e cirandado com a ciranda.
The oxen likewise and the young asses that plow the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
25 E haverá em todo o monte alto, e em todo o outeiro levantado, ribeiros e correntes de águas, no dia da grande matança, quando caírem as torres.
And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers [and] streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
26 E será a luz da lua como a luz do sol, e a luz do sol sete vezes maior, como a luz de sete dias, no dia em que o Senhor soldar a quebradura do seu povo, e curar a chaga da sua ferida.
Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be seven-fold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
27 Eis que o nome do Senhor vem de longe, a sua ira está ardendo, e a carga é pesada: os seus lábios estão cheios de indignação, e a sua língua como um fogo consumidor.
Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning [with] his anger, and the burden [of it is] heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
28 E o seu assopro como o ribeiro trasbordando, que chega até ao pescoço: para sacudir as nações com sacudidura de vaidade, e como um freio de fazer errar nas queixadas dos povos.
And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and [there shall be] a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing [them] to err.
29 Um cântico haverá entre vós, como na noite em que se santifica a festa; e alegria de coração, como aquele que anda com gaita, para vir ao monte do Senhor, à Rocha de Israel.
Ye shall have a song, as in the night, [when] a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come upon the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
30 E o Senhor fará ouvir a glória da sua voz, e fará ver o abaixamento do seu braço, com indignação de ira, e labareda de fogo consumidor, raios e dilúvio e pedra de saraiva.
And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall show the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of [his] anger, and [with] the flame of a devouring fire, [with] scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
31 Porque com a voz do Senhor será desfeita em pedaços Assyria, que feriu com a vara.
For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, [who] smote with a rod.
32 E será, em todas as partes por onde passar o bordão afincado, que, sobre aquele que o Senhor o puser, ali estarão com tamboris e harpas; porque com combates de agitação combaterá contra eles
And [in] every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, [it] shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
33 Porque já Tophet está preparada desde ontem, e já está preparada para o rei, já a afundou e alargou: a sua facha é de fogo, e tem muita lenha; o assopro do Senhor como a torrente de enxofre a acenderá.
For Tophet [is] ordained of old; yes, for the king it is prepared; he hath made [it] deep [and] large: the pile of it [is] fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
