Isaías 28
1 Ai da coroa de soberba dos bêbados de Ephraim, cujo glorioso ornamento é como a flor que cai, que está sobre a cabeça do fértil vale dos feridos do vinho.
Woe to the proud garland crown that is worn by each of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of its glorious beauty, the garland that is set on the head of the lush Valley of those who are overcome with wine!
2 Eis que o Senhor tem um valente e poderoso que como um alagamento de saraiva, tormenta de destruição, e como um alagamento de impetuosas águas que trasbordam, com a mão derribará por terra.
Behold, the Lord sends one who is mighty and strong; like a storm of hail and a destructive windstorm, like a driving rain and overflowing waters; and he will throw each garland crown down to the ground.
3 A coroa de soberba dos bêbados de Ephraim será pisada aos pés.
The proud garland of the drunkards of Ephraim will be trodden underfoot.
4 E a flor caída do seu glorioso ornamento, que está sobre a cabeça do fértil vale, será como a bebera antes do verão, que, vendo a alguém, e tendo-a ainda na mão, a engole.
The fading flower of his glorious beauty, that is on the head of the rich valley, will be as the first ripe fig before the summer, that, when someone sees it, while it is yet in his hand, he gulps it down.
5 Naquele dia o Senhor dos exércitos será por coroa gloriosa, e por grinalda formosa, para os resíduos de seu povo;
In that day Yahweh of hosts will become a beautiful crown and a diadem of beauty for the remainder of his people,
6 E por espírito de juízo, para o que se assenta a julgar, e por fortaleza para os que fazem retirar a peleja até à porta.
a spirit of justice for him who sits in judgment, and strength for those who turn back their enemies at their gates.
7 Mas também estes erram com o vinho e com a bebida forte se desencaminham: até o sacerdote e o profeta erram por causa da bebida forte; são devorados do vinho; se desencaminham com a bebida forte, andam errados na visão, e tropeçam no juízo.
But even these reel with wine, and stagger with strong drink. The priest and the prophet reel with strong drink, and they are swallowed up by wine. They stagger with strong drink, staggering in vision and reeling in decision.
8 Porque todas as suas mesas estão cheias de vômitos e sujidade, até não haver mais lugar limpo.
Truly, all tables are covered with vomit, so that there is no clean place.
9 A quem pois se ensinaria a ciência? e a quem se daria a entender o que se ouviu? ao desmamado do leite, e ao arrancado dos peitos.
To whom will he teach knowledge, and to whom will he explain the message? To those who are weaned from milk or to those just taken from the breasts?
10 Porque é mandamento, sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra: um pouco aqui, um pouco ali.
For it is command upon command, command upon command; rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little.
11 Pelo que por lábios de gago, e por outra língua, falará a este povo.
Indeed, with mocking lips and a foreign tongue he will speak to this people.
12 Ao qual disse: Este é o descanço, dai descanço ao cançado, e este é o refrigério: porém não quizeram ouvir.
In the past he said to them “This is the rest, give rest to him who is weary; and this is the refreshing,” but they would not listen.
13 Assim pois a palavra do Senhor lhes será mandamento sobre mandamento, mandamento sobre mandamento, regra sobre regra, regra sobre regra, um pouco aqui, um pouco ali; para que vão, e caiam para traz, e se quebrantem, e se enlacem, e sejam presos.
So the word of Yahweh will be to them command upon command, command upon command; rule upon rule, rule upon rule; here a little, there a little; so that they may go and fall backward, and be broken, ensnared, and captured.
14 Pelo que ouvi a palavra do Senhor, homens escarnecedores, que dominam este povo, que está em Jerusalém.
So listen to the word of Yahweh, you who mock, you who rule over this people who are in Jerusalem.
15 Porquanto dizeis: Fizemos concerto com a morte, e com o inferno fizemos aliança; quando passar o dilúvio do açoite, não chegará a nós, porque pusemos a mentira por nosso refúgio, e debaixo da falsidade nos escondemos. (Sheol h7585)
This will happen because you said, “We have made a covenant with death, and with Sheol we have reached an agreement. So when the overwhelming whip passes through, it will not reach us. For we have made a lie our refuge, and taken shelter in falsehood.” (Sheol h7585)
16 Portanto assim diz o Senhor Jehovah: Eis que eu fundo em Sião uma pedra, uma pedra já provada, pedra preciosa de esquina, que está bem firme e fundada: aquele que crer não se apresse.
Therefore the Lord Yahweh says, “See, I will lay in Zion a foundation stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation. He who believes will not be ashamed.
17 E regrarei o juízo ao cordel, e a justiça ao nível, e a saraiva varrerá o refúgio da mentira, e as águas cobrirão o esconderijo.
I will make justice the measuring stick, and righteousness the plumbline. Hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and the floodwaters will overwhelm the hiding place.
18 E o vosso concerto com a morte se anulará; e a vossa aliança com o inferno não subsistirá; e, quando o dilúvio do açoite passar, então sereis dele pisados. (Sheol h7585)
Your covenant with death will be dissolved, and your agreement with Sheol will not stand. When the raging flood passes through, you will be overwhelmed by it. (Sheol h7585)
19 Desde que começa a passar, vos arrebatará, porque todas as manhãs passará, de dia e de noite: e será que somente o ouvir a fama causará grande turbação.
Whenever it passes through, it will overwhelm you, and morning by morning it will pass through and by day and night it will come. When the message is understood, it will cause terror.
20 Porque a cama será tão curta que ninguém se poderá estender nela; e o cobertor tão estreito que se não possa cobrir com ele
For the bed is too short for a man to stretch out on, and the blanket too narrow for him to wrap himself in.”
21 Porque o Senhor se levantará como no monte de Perazim, e se irará, como no vale de Gibeon, para fazer a sua obra, a sua estranha obra, e para executar o seu ato, o seu estranho ato.
Yahweh will rise up as on Mount Perazim; he will rouse himself as in the Valley of Gibeon to do his work, his strange work, and perform his strange deed.
22 Agora pois mais não escarneçais, para que vossas ataduras se não façam mais fortes: porque já ao Senhor Jehovah dos exércitos ouvi falar de uma destruição, e essa já está determinada sobre toda a terra.
Now therefore do not mock, or your bonds will be tightened. I have heard from the Lord Yahweh of hosts, a decree of destruction on the earth.
23 Inclinai os ouvidos, e ouvi a minha voz: atendei bem, e ouvi o meu discurso.
Pay attention and listen to my voice; be attentive and listen to my words.
24 Porventura lavra todo o dia o lavrador, para semear? ou abre e desterroa todo o dia a sua terra?
Does a farmer who plows all day to sow, only plow the ground? Does he continually break up and harrow the field?
25 Porventura não é assim? quando já tem gradado a sua superfície, então esparge nela ervilhaca, e derrama cominho: ou lança nela do melhor trigo, ou cevada escolhida, ou centeio, cada qual no seu lugar.
When he has prepared the ground, does he not scatter caraway seed, sow the cumin, put in the wheat in rows and the barley in the right place, and the spelt at its edges?
26 O seu Deus o ensina, e o instrui acerca do que há de fazer.
His God instructs him; he teaches him wisely.
27 Porque a ervilhaca não se trilha com trilho, nem sobre o cominho passa roda de carro; mas com uma vara se sacode a ervilhaca, e o cominho com um páu.
Moreover, the caraway seed is not threshed with a sledge, nor is a cartwheel rolled over the cumin; but caraway is beaten with a stick, and cumin with a rod.
28 O trigo é esmiuçado, mas não se trilha continuamente, nem se esmiuça com as rodas do seu carro, nem se quebranta com os seus cavalos.
Grain is ground for bread but not too finely, and though the wheels of his cart and his horses scatter it, his horses do not crush it.
29 Até isto procede do Senhor dos exércitos; porque é maravilhoso em conselho e grande em obra.
This too comes from Yahweh of hosts, who is wonderful in instruction and excellent in wisdom.
