Isaías 21
1 Peso do deserto da banda do mar. Como os tufões de vento passam por meio da terra do sul, assim do deserto virá, da terra horrível.
The oracle on the desert of the sea: As storm-winds in the South which with a rush from the desert, do come from a terrible land,
2 Visão dura se notificou: o perfido trata perfidamente, e o destruidor anda destruindo: sobe, ó Elam, sitía, ó medo, que já fiz cessar todo o seu gemido.
[So] hath, a grievous vision, been told me: —the deceiver, is deceiving. And the spoiler, is spoiling, Go up, O Elam Besiege O Media, All the sighing she hath caused, have I made to cease.
3 Pelo que os meus lombos estão cheios de grande enfermidade, angústias se apoderaram de mim como as angústias da que pare: já me encurvo de ouvir, e estou espantado de ver.
For this cause, are my loins filled with anguish, Pangs, have seized me, as the pangs of her that is giving birth, —I writhe so that I cannot hear, I tremble, so that I cannot see:
4 O meu coração anda errado, espavorece-me o horror: e o crepúsculo, que desejava, me tornou em tremores.
My heart fluttereth, A horror, terrifieth me, —My twilight of pleasure, hath he turned for me into a time of trembling.
5 Põe a mesa, vigia na atalaia, come, bebe: levantai-vos, príncipes, e untai o escudo.
[Ye thought] to prepare the table—spread the mat—eat—drink! …Arise ye chieftains anoint the shield!
6 Porque assim me disse o Senhor: vai, põe uma sentinela, e que diga o que vir.
For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Go, set the watchman, What he seeth, let him tell!
7 E viu um carro com um par de cavaleiros, um carro de jumentos, e um carro de camelos, e atentou atentamente com grande atenção.
When he seeth A train of horsemen in double rank, A train of asses, A train of camels, Then shall he hearken attentively with diligent heed.
8 E clamou: Um leão vejo, Senhor, sobre a atalaia de vigia estou em pé continuamente de dia, e sobre a minha guarda me ponho noites inteiras.
Then cried he. A lion! On the watch, O My Lord, had I been standing continually, by day, And at my post, had I been stationed whole nights; —
9 E eis agora vem um carro de homens, e cavaleiros aos pares. Então respondeu e disse: Caída é Babilônia, caída é! e todas as imagens de escultura dos seus deuses quebrantou contra a terra.
When lo! here was a train of men coming. With horsemen in double rank, —And one began and said, Fallen! fallen! is Babylon, And all the images of her gods, are smashed to the ground!
10 Ah malhada minha, e trigo da minha eira! o que ouvi do Senhor dos exércitos, Deus de Israel, isso vos notifiquei.
O thou My threshing! And the grain of my corn-floor! That which I have heard from Yahweh of hosts, the God of Israel, Have I declared, unto you.
11 Peso de Duma. Dão-me gritos de Seir: Guarda, que houve de noite? guarda, que houve de noite?
The oracle on Dumah: Unto me, is one crying—out of Seir, Watchman! how far gone is the night? Watchman, how far gone is the night?
12 E disse o guarda: Vem a manhã, e também a noite; se quereis perguntar, perguntai; tornai-vos, e vinde.
Said the watchman, There cometh a morning. But also a night, —If ye will enquire, enquire, ye—Come, again!
13 Peso contra Arábia. Nos bosques de Arábia passareis a noite, ó viandantes de Dedanim.
The oracle on Arabia, —Among the shrubs in Arabia, must ye lodge, Ye caravans of Dedanites.
14 Saí ao encontro dos sequiosos com água: os moradores da terra de Tema com o seu pão encontraram os que fugiam.
To meet the thirsty, bring ye water, —Ye dwellers in the land of Tema; With bread for him, get in advance of him that is in flight!
15 Porque fogem de diante das espadas, de diante da espada nua, e de diante do arco armado, e de diante do peso da guerra.
For, before swords, have they fled: Before a sword that is drawn, Before a bow that is bent, And before the stress of war.
16 Porque assim me disse o Senhor: Ainda dentro dum ano, como os anos de jornaleiro, será arruinada toda a glória de Kedar.
For, thus, hath My Lord said unto me, —Within a year according to the yearn of a hireling, shall fail all the glory of Kedar;
17 E os resíduos do número dos flecheiros, os valentes dos filhos de Kedar, serão diminuídos, porque assim o disse o Senhor, Deus de Israel.
And, the remnant of the record of bowmen, The heroes of the sons of Kedar, shall become few; For Yahweh God of Israel, hath spoken.
