Isaías 16
1 Enviai o cordeiro ao dominador da terra desde Sela, ao deserto, até ao monte da filha de Sião.
I will send as it were reptiles on the land: is [not] the mount of the daughter of Sion a desolate rock?
2 De outro modo sucederá que serão as filhas de Moab junto aos vaus de Arnon como o pássaro vagueante, lançado do ninho.
For thou shalt be as a young bird taken away from a bird that has flown: [even] thou shalt be [so], daughter of Moab: and then do thou, O Arnon,
3 Toma conselho, faze juízo, põe a tua sombra no pino do meio dia como a noite; esconde os desterrados, e não descubras os vagueantes.
take farther counsel, and continually make thou a shelter from grief: they flee in darkness at mid-day; they are amazed; be not thou led captive.
4 Habitem entre ti os meus desterrados, ó Moab: serve-lhes de refúgio perante a face do destruidor; porque o opressor tem fim; a destruição é desfeita, e os atropeladores já são consumidos sobre a terra
The fugitives of Moab shall sojourn with thee; they shall be to you a shelter from the face of the pursuer: for thine alliance has been taken away, and the oppressing ruler has perished from off the earth.
5 Porque o trono se confirmará em benignidade, e sobre ele no tabernáculo de David em verdade se assentará um que julgue, e busque o juízo, e se apresse à justiça.
And a throne shall be established with mercy; and one shall sit upon it with truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and earnestly seeking judgments, and hasting righteousness.
6 Já ouvimos a soberba de Moab, que é soberbíssimo: a sua altivez, e a sua soberba, e o seu furor; os seus ferrolhos não são tão seguros.
We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud. I have cut off his pride: thy prophecy shall not be thus, [no] not thus.
7 Portanto Moab uivará por Moab; todos uivarão: gemereis pelos fundamentos de Kir-Hareseth, pois já estão quebrados.
Moab shall howl; for all shall howl in the land of Moab: but thou shalt care for them that dwell in Seth, and thou shalt not be ashamed.
8 Porque já os campos de hesbon enfraqueceram, como também a vide de Sibma; já os senhores das nações atropelaram as suas melhores plantas; vão chegando a Jazer; andam vagueando pelo deserto: os seus renovos se estenderam e já passaram além do mar
The plains of Esebon shall mourn, the vine of Sebama: swallowing up the nations, trample ye her vines, even to Jazer: ye shall not come together; wander ye in the desert: they that were sent are deserted, for they have gone over to the sea.
9 Pelo que prantearei, com o pranto de Jazer, a vide de Sibma; regar-te-ei com as minhas lágrimas, ó Hesbon e Eleale; porque já o júbilo dos teus frutos de verão e da tua sega caiu.
Therefore will I weep as with the weeping of Jazer for the vine of Sebama; Esebon and Eleale have cast down thy trees; for I will trample on thy harvest and on thy vintages, and all [thy plants] shall fall.
10 Assim que já se tirou o folguedo e a alegria do fértil campo, e já nas vinhas se não canta, nem júbilo algum se faz: já o pisador não pisará as uvas nos lagares; já fiz cessar o júbilo
And gladness and rejoicing shall be taken away from the vineyards; and they shall not at all tread wine into the vats; for [the vintage] has ceased.
11 Pelo que minhas entranhas fazem ruído por Moab como harpa, e o meu interior por Kirheres.
Therefore my belly shall sound as a harp for Moab, and thou hast repaired my inward parts as a wall.
12 E será que, quando virem que já Moab está cançado nos altos, então entrará no seu santuário a orar, porém nada alcançará.
And it shall be to thy shame, (for Moab is wearied at the altars, ) that he shall go in to the idols thereof to pray, but they shall not be at all able to deliver him.
13 Esta é a palavra que falou o Senhor desde então contra Moab.
This is the word which the Lord spoke against Moab, when he spoke.
14 Porém agora falou o Senhor, dizendo: Dentro em três anos (tais quais os anos de jornaleiros), então se virá a envilecer a glória de Moab, com toda a sua grande multidão; e o resíduo será pouco, pequeno e impotente.
And now I say, in three years, of the years of an hireling, the glory of Moab shall be dishonoured [with] all his great wealth; and he shall be left few in number, and not honoured.
