Isaías 13
1 Peso de Babilônia, que viu Isaias, filho de Amós.
A prophecy concerning Babylon, which Isaiah, the son of Amoz, saw.
2 Alçai uma bandeira sobre um alto monte, levantai a voz a eles: movei a mão em alto, para que entrem pelas portas dos príncipes.
Upon the bare mountain lift up a banner; Cry aloud to them, wave the hand, That they may enter the gates of the tyrants!
3 Já eu passei ordens aos meus santificados: já também chamei aos meus valentes para minha ira, os quais são exaltados na minha magestade.
I have given orders to my consecrated ones, Yea, I have called upon my mighty ones to execute mine anger, My proud exulters!
4 Já se ouve a voz de arroido sobre os montes, como de muito povo: a voz do reboliço de reinos e de nações já congregadas. O Senhor dos exércitos passa a mostra do exército de guerra.
The noise of a multitude upon the mountains, like that of a great people! The tumultuous noise of kingdoms, of nations gathered together! Jehovah of hosts mustereth his army for battle.
5 Já vem da terra de longe desde a extremidade do céu, assim o Senhor, como os instrumentos da sua indignação, para destruir toda aquela terra.
They come from a distant country, From the end of Heaven, Jehovah and the instruments of his indignation. To lay waste the whole land.
6 Uivai, pois, porque o dia do Senhor já está perto: já vem como assolação do Todo-poderoso.
Howl ye, for the day of Jehovah is at hand! Like a destruction from the Almighty, it cometh;
7 Pelo que todas as mãos se debilitarão, e o coração de todos os homens se desanimará.
Therefore shall all hands hang down, And every heart of man shall melt.
8 E assombrar-se-ão, e apoderar-se-ão deles dores e ais, e se angustiarão, como a mulher com dores de parto; cada um se espantará do seu próximo; os seus rostos serão rostos flamejantes.
They shall be in consternation; Distress and anguish shall lay hold of them; As a woman in travail shall they writhe; They shall look upon one another with amazement: Their faces shall glow like flames.
9 Eis que o dia do Senhor vem, horrendo, com furor e ira ardente, para pôr a terra em assolação, e destruir os pecadores dela.
Behold! the day of Jehovah cometh, Terrible, full of wrath and burning indignation, To make the land a waste, And to destroy the sinners out of it.
10 Porque as estrelas dos céus e os seus astros não luzirão com a sua luz: o sol se escurecerá em nascendo, e a lua não resplandecerá com a sua luz.
For the stars of heaven, and the constellations thereof, Shall not give their light; The sun shall be darkened at his going forth, And the moon shall withhold her light.
11 Porque visitarei sobre o mundo a maldade, e sobre os ímpios a sua iniquidade: e farei cessar a arrogância dos atrevidos, e abaterei a soberba dos tiranos.
For I will punish the world for its guilt, And the wicked for their iniquity. I will put an end to the arrogance of the proud, And I will bring down the haughtiness of the tyrants.
12 Farei que um homem seja mais precioso do que o ouro puro, e um homem mais do que o ouro fino de Ophir.
I will make men scarcer than gold; Yea, men than the gold of Ophir.
13 Pelo que farei estremecer os céus; e a terra se moverá do seu lugar, por causa do furor do Senhor dos exércitos, e por causa do dia da sua ardente ira.
Therefore I will make the heavens tremble, And the earth shall be shaken out of her place, In the anger of Jehovah of hosts, In the day of his burning indignation.
14 E cada um será como a corça que foge, e como a ovelha que ninguém recolhe: cada um voltará para o seu povo, e cada um fugirá para a sua terra.
Then shall they be like a chased doe; Like a flock, which no one gathereth together; Every one shall turn to his own people, And every one flee to his own land.
15 Qualquer que for achado será traspassado; e qualquer que se ajuntar com ele cairá à espada.
Every one that is overtaken shall be thrust through, And every one that is caught shall fall by the sword.
16 E suas crianças serão despedaçadas perante os seus olhos: as suas casas serão saqueadas, e as suas mulheres forçadas.
Their children shall be dashed to pieces before their eyes; Their houses shall be plundered, and their wives ravished.
17 Eis que eu despertarei contra eles os medos, que não farão caso da prata, nem tão pouco desejarão ouro
Behold, I stir up against them the Medes, Who make no account of silver, And as to gold, they do not regard it.
18 E os seus arcos despedaçarão os mancebos, e não se compadecerão do fruto do ventre; o seu olho não poupará aos filhos.
Their bows shall strike down the young men, And on the fruit of the womb they shall have no compassion; Their eye shall not pity the children.
19 Assim será Babilônia, o ornamento dos reinos, a glória e a soberba dos caldeus, como Sodoma e Gomorrha, quando Deus as transtornou.
So shall Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, The proud ornament of the Chaldeans, Be like Sodom and Gomorrah, which God overthrew,
20 Nunca mais haverá habitação nela, nem se habitará de geração em geração: nem o árabe armará ali a sua tenda, nem tão pouco os pastores ali farão as suas malhadas.
It shall never more be inhabited; Nor shall it be dwelt in through all generations. Nor shall the Arabian pitch his tent there, Nor shall shepherds make their folds there.
21 Mas as bestas feras do deserto repousarão ali, e as suas casas se encherão de horríveis animais: e ali habitarão as avestruzinhas, e os sátiros pularão ali
But there shall the wild beasts of the desert lodge, And owls shall fill their houses; And ostriches shall dwell there, And satyrs shall dance there.
22 E as bestas feras que uivam se apuparão umas às outras nos seus palácios vazios, como também os dragões nos seus palácios de prazer; pois bem perto já vem chegando o seu tempo, e os seus dias se não prolongarão.
Wolves shall howl in their palaces, And jackals in their pleasant edifices. Her time is near, And her days shall not be prolonged.
