Oséias 5

1 Ouvi isto, ó sacerdotes, e escutai, ó casa de Israel, e escutai, ó casa do rei, porque a vós toca este juízo, visto que fostes um laço para Mispah, e rede estendida sobre Tabor.

Hear this, priests! Attend, Israelites! Listen, royal family! For you is the judgment: a snare you have become at Mizpeh, and a net spread out on Tabor,

2 E, matando sacrifícios errados, abaixaram até ao profundo; mas eu serei a correção de todos eles.

the rebels are deep in slaughter, but I will discipline all.

3 Eu conheço a Ephraim, e Israel não se me esconde; porque agora tens fornicado, ó Ephraim, e se contaminou Israel.

I know Ephraim, Israel is not hidden from me, for you, Ephraim, have committed prostitution and Israel is defiled.

4 Não querem ordenar as suas ações afim de voltarem para o seu Deus, porque o espírito das fornicações está no meio deles, e não conhecem ao Senhor

Their deeds do not permit them to return to their God. For the spirit of prostitution is within them, they do not know the Lord.

5 A soberba de Israel testificará pois no seu rosto: e Israel e Ephraim cairão pela sua injustiça, e Judá cairá juntamente com eles.

Israel’s arrogance testifies against them, Israel, even Ephraim, stumble in their sin, and Judah also stumbles with them.

6 Então irão com as suas ovelhas, e com as suas vacas, para buscarem ao Senhor, mas não o acharão: ele se retirou deles.

With their sheep and their cattle they will go to seek the Lord but they will not find him, he has withdrawn from them,

7 Aleivosamente se houveram contra o Senhor, porque geraram filhos estranhos: agora a lua nova os consumirá com as suas porções.

for they have been untrue to the Lord, their children are strangers. Their new moon festivals will soon destroy them and their fields.

8 Tocai a buzina em Gibeath, a trombeta em Rama: gritai altamente em Beth-aven; após ti, a Benjamin.

Blow the trumpet in Gibeah, the clarion in Ramah! Raise the alarm in Beth-aven: we are with you, Benjamin!

9 Ephraim será para assolação no dia do castigo: entre as tribos de Israel manifestei o que certo está.

Ephraim will become a desolation in the day of punishment, concerning the tribes of Israel I make known what is certain.

10 Os príncipes de Judá foram feitos como os que traspassam os limites: derramarei pois o meu furor sobre eles como água.

The princes of Israel have become like thieves who move boundary stones. On them I will pour out my wrath like a flood.

11 Ephraim oprimido e quebrantado é no juízo, porque assim quis: andou após o mandamento.

Ephraim will be oppressed, crushed by judgment, for they are determined to go after vanity.

12 Portanto a Ephraim serei como a traça, e à casa de Judá como a podridão.

So I am like a moth to Ephraim, like rottenness to the house of Judah.

13 Vendo pois Ephraim a sua enfermidade, e Judá a sua inchação, subiu Ephraim à Assyria e enviou ao rei Jareb; mas ele não poderá sarar-vos, nem vos curará a inchação.

For when Ephraim saw their sickness and Israel their wound, Ephraim turned to Assyria, to its patron king. But he cannot heal you nor relieve you of your wound.

14 Porque a Ephraim serei como um leão, e como um leãozinho à casa de Judah!: eu, eu o despedaçarei, e ir-me-ei embora; eu levarei, e não haverá quem livre

For I myself will be like a lion to Ephraim, like a young lion to the house of Judah. I, yes I, will rend and go my way, I will carry off and none will rescue.

15 Andarei, e tornarei ao meu lugar, até que se reconheçam culpados e busquem a minha face: estando eles angustiados, de madrugada me buscarão.

I will return to my place, until in remorse they seek my presence. When they are in distress they will quickly seek me,
