Oséias 11
1 Quando Israel era menino, eu o amei; e do Egito chamei a meu filho.
When Israel was a childe, then I loued him, and called my sonne out of Egypt.
2 Mas, como eles os chamavam, assim se iam da sua face: sacrificavam a baalins, e queimavam incenso às imagens de escultura.
They called them, but they went thus from them: they sacrificed vnto Baalim, and burnt incense to images.
3 Eu, todavia, ensinei a andar a Ephraim; tomei-os pelos seus braços, mas não conheceram que eu os curava.
I ledde Ephraim also, as one shoulde beare them in his armes: but they knewe not that I healed them.
4 Atrai-os com cordas humanas, com cordas de amor, e fui para eles como os que levantam o jugo de sobre as suas queixadas, e lhe dei mantimento.
I led them with cordes of a man, euen with bandes of loue, and I was to them, as hee that taketh off the yoke from their iawes, and I laide the meat vnto them.
5 Não voltará para a terra do Egito, mas a Assyria será seu rei; porque recusam converter-se.
He shall no more returne into the lande of Egypt: but Asshur shalbe his King, because they refused to conuert.
6 E ficará a espada sobre as suas cidades, e consumirá os seus ferrolhos, e devorará, por causa dos seus conselhos.
And the sworde shall fall on his cities, and shall consume his barres, and deuoure them, because of their owne counsels.
7 Porque o meu povo se inclina a desviar-se de mim; bem que chamam ao altíssimo, nenhum deles se levanta.
And my people are bent to rebellion against me: though they called them to the most hie, yet none at all would exalt him.
8 Como te deixaria, ó Ephraim? como te entregaria, ó Israel? como te faria como Adama? te poria como Zeboim? Virou-se em mim o meu coração, todos os meus pezares juntamente estão acendidos.
Howe shall I giue thee vp, Ephraim? howe shall I deliuer thee, Israel? how shall I make thee, as Admah? howe shall I set thee, as Zeboim? mine heart is turned within mee: my repentings are rouled together.
9 Não executarei o furor da minha ira: não me tornarei para destruir a Ephraim, porque eu sou Deus e não homem, o santo no meio de ti, e não entrarei na cidade.
I wil not execute ye fiercenesse of my wrath: I will not returne to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man, the holy one in the middes of thee, and I will not enter into the citie.
10 Andarão após o Senhor, ele bramará como leão: bramando pois ele, os filhos do ocidente tremerão.
They shall walke after the Lord: he shall roare like a lyon: when hee shall roare, then the children of the West shall feare.
11 Tremendo, se achegarão como um passarinho os do Egito, e como uma pomba os da terra da Assyria, e os farei habitar em suas casas, diz o Senhor.
They shall feare as a sparrow out of Egypt, and as a doue of the lande of Asshur, and I will place them in their houses, sayth the Lord.
12 Ephraim me cercou com mentira, e a casa de Israel com engano; mas Judá ainda domina com Deus, e com os santos está fiel.
Ephraim copasseth me about with lies, and the house of Israel with deceit: but Iudah yet ruleth with God, and is faithfull with the Saints.
