Gênesis 44
1 E deu ordem ao que estava sobre a sua casa, dizendo: Enche os sacos destes varões de mantimento, quanto poderem levar, e põe o dinheiro de cada varão na boca do seu saco.
Forsothe Joseph comaundid the dispendere of his hous, and seide, Fille thou her sackis with wheete, as myche as tho moun take, and putte thou the money of ech in the hiynesse of the sak;
2 E o meu copo, o copo de prata, porás na boca do saco do mais novo, com o dinheiro do seu trigo. E fez conforme a palavra de José, que tinha dito.
forsothe put thou in the mouth of the sak of the yongere my silueren cuppe, and the prijs of wheete which he yaf; and it was doon so.
3 Vinda a luz da manhã, despediram-se estes varões, eles com os seus jumentos.
And whanne the morewtid roos, thei weren delyuered with her assis.
4 Saindo eles da cidade, e não se havendo ainda distanciado, disse José ao que estava sobre a sua casa: Levanta-te, e persegue aqueles varões: e, alcançando-os, lhes dirás: Porque pagastes mal por bem?
And now thei hadden go out of the citee, and hadden go forth a litil; thanne Joseph seide, whanne the dispendere of his hous was clepid, Rise thou, pursue the men, and seye thou whanne thei ben takun, Whi han ye yolde yuel for good?
5 Não é este o copo por que bebe meu senhor? e em que ele bem atenta? fizestes mal no que fizestes.
The cuppe, which ye han stole, is thilk in which my lord drynkith, and in which he is wont to dyuyne; ye han do a ful wickid thing.
6 E alcançou-os, e falou-lhes as mesmas palavras.
He dide as Joseph comaundid, and whanne thei weren takun, he spak bi ordre.
7 E eles disseram-lhe: Porque diz meu senhor tais palavras? longe estejam teus servos de fazerem semelhante coisa.
Whiche answeriden, Whi spekith oure lord so, that thi seruauntis han do so greet trespas?
8 Eis que o dinheiro, que temos achado nas bocas dos nossos sacos, te tornamos a trazer desde a terra de Canaan: como pois furtaríamos da casa do teu senhor prata ou ouro?
We brouyten ayen to thee fro the lond of Chanaan the monei which we founden in the hiynesse of sackis, and hou is it suynge that we han stole fro `the hows of thi lord gold ether siluer?
9 Aquele, com quem de teus servos for achado, morra; e ainda nós seremos escravos do meu senhor.
At whom euere of thi seruauntis this that thou sekist is foundun, die he, and we schulen be seruauntis of my lord.
10 E ele disse: Ora seja também assim conforme as vossas palavras; aquele com quem se achar será meu escravo, porém vós sereis desculpados.
Which seide to hem, Be it doon bi youre sentence; at whom it is foundun, be he my seruaunt; forsothe ye schulen be gilteles.
11 E eles apressaram-se, e cada um pôs em terra o seu saco, e cada um abriu o seu saco.
And so thei diden doun hastili the sackis on erthe, and alle openyden tho whiche he souyte;
12 E buscou, começando do maior, e acabando no mais novo: e achou-se o copo no saco de Benjamin.
and bigan at the more til to the leeste, and foond the cuppe in `the sak of Beniamyn.
13 Então rasgaram os seus vestidos, e carregou cada um o seu jumento, e tornaram à cidade.
And whanne thei hadden `to-rent her clothis, and hadden chargid eft the assis, thei turneden ayen in to the citee.
14 E veio Judá com os seus irmãos à casa de José, porque ele ainda estava ali; e prostraram-se diante dele na terra.
And Judas entride `the firste with brithren to Joseph; for he hadde not go yit fro the place; and alle felden togidere on erthe bifore hym.
15 E disse-lhes José: Que é isto que obrastes? não sabeis vós que tal homem como eu bem atentara?
To whiche he seide, Whi wolden ye do so? whether ye witen not, that noon is lijk me in the kunnyng of dyuinyng?
16 Então disse Judá: Que diremos a meu senhor? que falaremos? e como nos justificaremos? Achou Deus a iniquidade de teus servos; eis que somos escravos de meu senhor, tanto nós como aquele em cuja mão foi achado o copo.
To whom Judas seide, What schulen we answere to my lord, ether what schulen we speke, ether moun iustli ayenseie? God hath founde the wickidnesse of thi seruauntis; lo! alle we ben the seruauntis of my lord, bothe we and he at whom the cuppe is foundun.
17 Mas ele disse: Longe de mim que eu tal faça; o varão em cuja mão o copo foi achado, aquele será meu servo; porém vós subi em paz para vosso pai.
Joseph answeride, Fer be it fro me, that Y do so; he be my seruaunt that stal the cuppe; forsothe go ye fre to youre fadir.
18 Então Judá se chegou a ele, e disse: Ai! senhor meu, deixa, peço-te, o teu servo dizer uma palavra aos ouvidos de meu senhor, e não se acenda a tua ira contra o teu servo; porque tu és como faraó.
Sotheli Judas neiyede neer, and seide tristili, My lord, Y preye, thi seruaunt speke a word in thin eeris, and be thou not wrooth to thi seruaunt; for aftir Farao thou art my lord.
19 Meu senhor perguntou a seus servos, dizendo: Tendes vós pai, ou irmão?
Thou axidist first thi seruauntis, Han ye a fadir, ether a brother?
20 E dissemos a meu senhor: Temos um pai velho, e um moço da sua velhice, o mais novo, cujo irmão é morto; e ele ficou só de sua mãe, e seu pai o ama.
And we answeriden to thee, my lord, An eld fadir is to vs, and a litil child that was borun in his eelde, whos brother of the same wombe is deed, and his modir hath hym aloone; forsothe his fadir loueth hym tendirli.
21 Então tu disseste a teus servos: trazei-mo a mim, e porei os meus olhos sobre ele.
And thou seidist to thi seruauntis, Brynge ye hym to me, and Y schal sette myn iyen on hym.
22 E nós dissemos a meu senhor: aquele moço não poderá deixar a seu pai: se deixar a seu pai, morrerá.
We maden suggestioun to thee, my lord, the child may not forsake his fadir; for if he schal leeue the fadir, he schal die.
23 Então tu disseste a teus servos: Se vosso irmão mais novo não descer convosco, nunca mais vereis a minha face.
And thou seidist to thi seruauntis, If youre leeste brother schal not come with you, ye schulen no more se my face.
24 E aconteceu que, subindo nós a teu servo meu pai, e contando-lhe as palavras de meu senhor,
Therfor whanne we hadden stied to thi seruaunt, oure fadir, we telden to hym alle thingis whiche my lord spak; and oure fadir seide,
25 Disse nosso pai: tornai, comprai-nos um pouco de mantimento.
Turne ye ayen, and bie ye to you a litil of wheete;
26 E nós dissemos: Não poderemos descer; se nosso irmão menor for conosco, desceremos; pois não poderemos ver a face do varão, se este nosso irmão menor não estiver conosco.
to whom we seiden, We moun not go; if oure leeste brother schal go doun with vs, we schulen go forth togidere; ellis, if he is absent, we doren not se the `face of the lord.
27 Então disse-nos teu servo meu pai: Vós sabeis que minha mulher me pariu dois;
To whiche thingis the fadir answeride, Ye witen that my wiif childide twei sones to me;
28 E um saiu de mim, e eu disse: Certamente foi despedaçado, e não o tenho visto até agora;
oon yede out, and ye seiden, a beeste deuouride hym, and hidir to he apperith not;
29 Se agora também tirardes a este da minha face, e lhe acontecesse algum desastre, farieis descer as minhas cãs com dor à sepultura. (Sheol h7585)
if ye taken also this sone, and ony thing bifallith to hym in the weye, ye schulen lede forth myn hoor heeris with morenyng to hellis. (Sheol h7585)
30 Agora pois, vindo eu a teu servo meu pai, e o moço não indo conosco, pois que a sua alma está atada com a alma dele,
Therfor if Y entre to thi seruaunt, oure fadir, and the child faile, sithen his lijf hangith of the lijf of the child,
31 Acontecerá que, vendo ele que o moço ali não está, morrerá; e teus servos farão descer as cãs de teu servo, nosso pai, com tristeza à sepultura. (Sheol h7585)
and he se that the child is not with vs, he schal die, and thi seruauntis schulen lede forth hise hoor heeris with sorewe to hellis. (Sheol h7585)
32 Porque teu servo se deu por fiador por este moço para com meu pai, dizendo: Se não to tornar, eu serei culpado a meu pai todos os dias.
Be Y propirli thi seruaunt, which resseyuede this child on my feith, and bihiyte, and seide, If Y schal not brynge ayen hym, Y schal be gilti of synne ayens my fadir in al tyme;
33 Agora, pois, fique teu servo em lugar deste moço por escravo de meu senhor, e que suba o moço com os seus irmãos.
and so Y schal dwelle thi seruaunt for the child in to the seruyce of my lord, and the child stie with hise britheren;
34 Porque como subirei eu a meu pai, se o moço não for comigo? para que não veja eu o mal que sobrevirá a meu pai.,
for Y may not go ayen to my fadir, if the child is absent, lest Y stonde a witnesse of the wretchidnesse that schal oppresse my fadir.
