Esdras 6
1 Então o rei Dario deu ordem, e buscaram na chancelaria, onde se metiam os tesouros em Babilônia.
So King Darius ordered an investigation in the house of archives in Babylon.
2 E em Achmetha, no paço, que está na província de Media, se achou um rôlo, e nele estava escrito um memorial que dizia assim:
In the fortified city of Ecbatana in Media a scroll was found; this was its record:
3 No ano primeiro do rei Cyro, o rei Cyro deu esta ordem: A casa de Deus em Jerusalém, esta casa se edificará para lugar em que se ofereçam sacrifícios, e seus fundamentos serão firmes: a sua altura de sessenta côvados, e a sua largura de sessenta côvados;
“In the first year of King Cyrus, Cyrus issued a decree about the house of God in Jerusalem: 'Let the house be rebuilt as a place for sacrifice, let its foundations be laid, let its height be sixty cubits, and its width sixty cubits,
4 Com três carreiras de grandes pedras, e uma carreira de madeira nova: e a despeza se fará da casa do rei.
with three rows of large stones and a row of new timber, and let the cost be paid by the king's house.
5 De mais disto, os vasos de ouro e de prata da casa de Deus, que Nabucodonosor transportou do templo que estava em Jerusalém, e levou para Babilônia, se tornarão a dar, para que vão ao seu lugar, ao templo que está em Jerusalém, e os levarão à casa de Deus
Now bring back the gold and silver objects belonging to the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar brought to Babylon from the temple in Jerusalem and send them back to the temple in Jerusalem. You are to put them in the house of God.'
6 Agora pois Tattenai, governador de além do rio, Sethar-boznai, e os seus companheiros, os apharsachitas, que estais de além do rio, apartai-vos dali.
Now Tattenai, the governor of the Province Beyond the River, Shethar-Bozenai, and associates who are in the Province Beyond the River, keep away!
7 Deixa-os na obra desta casa de Deus; para que o governador dos judeus e os judeus edifiquem esta casa de Deus no seu lugar.
Leave the work of this house of God alone. The governor and Jewish elders will build this house of God at that place.
8 Também por mim se decreta o que haveis de fazer com os anciãos dos judeus, para edificar esta casa de Deus, a saber: que da fazenda do rei dos tributos de além do rio se dê prontamente a despeza a estes homens, para que não sejam impedidos.
I am ordering that you must do this for these Jewish elders who build this house of God: Funds from the king's tribute beyond the River will be used to pay these men so they do not have to stop their work.
9 E o que for necessário, como bezerros, e carneiros, e cordeiros, por holocausto ao Deus dos céus, trigo, sal, vinho e azeite, segundo o rito dos sacerdotes que estão em Jerusalém; e dê-se-lhes, de dia em dia, para que não haja falta.
Whatever is needed—young bulls, rams, or lambs for the burnt offerings to the God of Heaven, grain, salt, wine, or oil according to the command of the priests in Jerusalem—give these things to them every day without fail.
10 Para que ofereçam sacrifícios de cheiro suave ao Deus dos céus, e orem pela vida do rei e de seus filhos.
Do this so they will bring the offering in to the God of Heaven and pray for me, the king, and my sons.
11 Também por mim se decreta que todo o homem que mudar este decreto, um madeiro se arrancará da sua casa, e, levantado, o pendurarão nele, e da sua casa se fará por isso um monturo.
I am ordering that if anyone violates this decree, a beam must be pulled from his house and he must be impaled on it. His house must then be turned into a rubbish heap because of this.
12 O Deus, pois, que fez habitar ali o seu nome derribe a todos os reis e povos que estenderem a sua mão para o mudarem e para destruírem esta casa de Deus, que está em Jerusalém. Eu, Dario, dei o decreto; apressuradamente se faça.
May the God who has caused his name to dwell there overthrow any king or people who lifts a hand to change this decree, or to destroy this house of God in Jerusalem. I, Darius, am ordering this. Let it be done with diligence!”
13 Então Tattenai, o governador de além do rio, Sethar-boznai e os seus companheiros, assim fizeram apressuradamente, conforme ao que decretara o rei Dario.
Then because of the decree sent by Darius the king, Tattenai, the governor of the Province Beyond the River, and Shethar-Bozenai and his associates, did everything that King Darius had ordered.
14 E os anciãos dos judeus iam edificando e prosperando pela profecia do profeta Aggeo, e de Zacarias, filho de Iddo: e a edificaram e aperfeiçoaram conforme ao mandado do Deus de Israel, e conforme ao mandado de Cyro e Dario, e de Artaxerxes rei da Pérsia.
So the Jewish elders built and prospered under the teaching of Haggaithe prophet and Zechariah son of Iddo. They completed their buildings according to the decree of the God of Israel and by the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes the king of Persia.
15 E acabou-se esta casa no dia terceiro do mês de Adar que era o sexto ano do reinado do rei Dario.
The house was completed on the third day of the month of Adar, in the sixth year of King Darius' reign.
16 E os filhos de Israel, os sacerdotes, e os levitas, e o resto dos filhos do cativeiro, fizeram a consagração desta casa de Deus com alegria.
The Israelite people, priests, Levites, and the rest of the captives celebrated the dedication of this house of God with joy.
17 E ofereceram para a consagração desta casa de Deus cem novilhos, duzentos carneiros, quatrocentos cordeiros, e doze cabritos por expiação do pecado de todo o Israel; segundo o número das tribos de Israel.
They offered one hundred bulls, one hundred rams, and four hundred lambs for the dedication of God's house. Twelve male goats were also offered as a sin offering for all Israel, one for each tribe in Israel.
18 E puseram os sacerdotes nas suas turmas e os levitas nas suas divisões, para o ministério de Deus, que está em Jerusalém; conforme ao escrito do livro de Moisés.
They also assigned the priests and Levites to work divisions for the service of God in Jerusalem, as it was written in the Book of Moses.
19 E os que vieram do cativeiro celebraram a pascoa no dia quatorze do primeiro mês.
So those who had been in exile celebrated the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month.
20 Porque os sacerdotes e levitas se purificaram como se fossem um só homem, todos estavam limpos: e mataram o cordeiro da pascoa para todos os filhos do cativeiro, e para seus irmãos, os sacerdotes, e para si mesmos.
The priests and Levites all purified themselves and slaughtered the Passover sacrifices for all those who had been in exile, including themselves.
21 Assim comeram os filhos de Israel que tinham voltado do cativeiro, com todos os que a eles se apartaram da imundícia das gentes da terra, para buscarem o Senhor, Deus de Israel:
The Israelite people who ate some of the Passover meat were those who had returned from exile and had separated themselves from the uncleanness of the people of the land and sought Yahweh, the God of Israel.
22 E celebraram a festa dos pães asmos os sete dias com alegria, porque o Senhor os tinha alegrado, e tinha mudado o coração do rei de Assyria a favor deles; para lhes esforçar as mãos na obra da casa de Deus, o Deus de Israel.
They joyfully celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days, for Yahweh had brought them joy and turned the heart of Assyria's king to strengthen their hands in the work of his house, the house of the God of Israel.
