Êxodo 20
1 Então falou Deus todas estas palavras, dizendo:
And God speaks all these words, saying,
2 Eu sou o Senhor teu Deus, que te tirei da terra do Egito, da casa da servidão.
“I [am] your God YHWH, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of a house of servants.
3 Não terás outros deuses diante de mim.
You have no other Gods before Me.
4 Não farás para ti imagem de escultura, nem alguma semelhança do que há em cima nos céus, nem em baixo na terra, nem nas águas debaixo da terra.
You do not make a carved image for yourself, or any likeness which [is] in the heavens above, or which [is] in the earth beneath, or which [is] in the waters under the earth.
5 Não te encurvarás a elas nem as servirás: porque eu, o Senhor teu Deus, sou Deus zeloso, que visito a maldade dos pais nos filhos, até à terceira e quarta geração daqueles que me aborrecem,
You do not bow yourself to them, nor serve them: for I, your God YHWH, [am] a zealous God, charging iniquity of fathers on sons, on a third and on a fourth [generation] of those hating Me,
6 E faço misericórdia em milhares, aos que me amam, e aos que guardam os meus mandamentos.
and doing kindness to thousands, of those loving Me and keeping My commands.
7 Não tomarás o nome do Senhor teu Deus em vão: porque o Senhor não terá por inocente o que tomar o seu nome em vão.
You do not take up the Name of your God YHWH for a vain thing, for YHWH does not acquit him who takes up His Name for a vain thing.
8 Lembra-te do dia do sábado, para o santificar.
Remember the Sabbath day to sanctify it;
9 Seis dias trabalharás, e farás toda a tua obra,
six days you labor and have done all your work,
10 Mas o sétimo dia é o sábado do Senhor teu Deus: não farás nenhuma obra, nem tu, nem teu filho, nem tua filha, nem o teu servo, nem a tua serva, nem a tua besta, nem o teu estrangeiro, que está dentro das tuas portas.
and the seventh day [is] a Sabbath to your God YHWH; you do not do any work, you, and your son, and your daughter, your manservant, and your handmaid, and your livestock, and your sojourner who is within your gates—
11 Porque em seis dias fez o Senhor os céus e a terra, o mar e tudo que neles há, e ao sétimo dia descançou: portanto abençoou o Senhor o dia do sábado, e o santificou,
for [in] six days YHWH has made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that [is] in them, and rests in the seventh day; therefore YHWH has blessed the Sabbath day and sanctifies it.
12 Honra a teu pai e a tua mãe, para que se prolonguem os teus dias na terra que o Senhor teu Deus te dá.
Honor your father and your mother, so that your days are prolonged on the ground which your God YHWH is giving to you.
13 Não matarás.
You do not murder.
14 Não adulterarás.
You do not commit adultery.
15 Não furtarás.
You do not steal.
16 Não dirás falso testemunho contra o teu próximo.
You do not answer [with] a false testimony against your neighbor.
17 Não cobiçaras a casa do teu próximo, não cobiçaras a mulher do teu próximo, nem o seu servo, nem a sua serva, nem o seu boi, nem o seu jumento, nem coisa alguma do teu próximo.
You do not desire the house of your neighbor, you do not desire the wife of your neighbor, or his manservant, or his handmaid, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything which [is] your neighbor’s.”
18 E todo o povo viu os trovões e os relâmpagos, e o sonido da buzina, e o monte fumegando: e o povo, vendo isso retirou-se e pôs-se de longe.
And all the people are seeing the voices, and the flames, and the sound of the horn, and the mountain smoking; and the people see, and move, and stand far off,
19 E disseram a Moisés: fala tu conosco, e ouviremos: e não fale Deus conosco, para que não morramos.
and say to Moses, “Speak with us, and we hear, and do not let God speak with us, lest we die.”
20 E disse Moisés ao povo: Não temais, que Deus veio para provar-vos, e para que o seu temor esteja diante de vós, para que não pequeis.
And Moses says to the people, “Do not fear, for God has come to try you, and in order that His fear may be before your faces—that you do not sin.”
21 E o povo estava em pé de longe: Moisés, porém, se chegou à escuridade, onde Deus estava.
And the people stand far off, and Moses has drawn near to the thick darkness where God [is].
22 Então disse o Senhor a Moisés: Assim dirás aos filhos de Israel: Vós tendes visto que eu falei convosco desde os céus.
And YHWH says to Moses, “Thus you say to the sons of Israel: You have seen that I have spoken with you from the heavens;
23 Não fareis outros deuses comigo; deuses de prata ou deuses de ouro não fareis para vós.
you do not make gods of silver and gods of gold [to be] with Me—you do not make [any idol] for yourselves.
24 Um altar de terra me farás, e sobre ele sacrificarás os teus holocaustos, e as tuas ofertas pacíficas, as tuas ovelhas, e as tuas vacas: em todo o lugar, onde eu fizer celebrar a memória do meu nome, virei a ti, e te abençoarei.
You make an altar of earth for Me, and you have sacrificed on it your burnt-offerings and your peace-offerings, your flock and your herd; in every place where I cause My Name to be remembered I come to you, and have blessed you.
25 E se me fizeres um altar de pedras, não o farás de pedras lavradas: se sobre ele levantares o teu buril, profana-lo-ás.
And if you make an altar of stones for Me, you do not build them of hewn work; when you have waved your tool over it, then you defile it;
26 Não subirás também por degraus ao meu altar, para que a tua nudez não seja descoberta diante deles.
neither do you go up by steps on My altar, that your nakedness is not revealed on it.
