Êxodo 11

1 E o senhor dissera a Moisés: Ainda uma praga trarei sobre faraó e sobre o Egito: depois vos deixarei ir daqui: e, quando vos deixar ir totalmente, a toda a pressa vos lançará daqui.

And the Lord said to Moses: “I will touch Pharaoh and Egypt with one more plague, and after these things he will release you, and he will compel you to go out.

2 Fala agora aos ouvidos do povo, que cada varão peça ao seu vizinho, e cada mulher à sua vizinha, vasos de prata e vasos de ouro.

Therefore, you will tell all the people to ask, a man of his friend, and a woman of her neighbor, for vessels of silver and of gold.

3 E o Senhor deu graça ao povo aos olhos dos egípcios; também o varão Moisés era mui grande na terra do Egito, aos olhos dos servos de faraó, e aos olhos do povo.

Then the Lord will grant favor to his people in the sight of the Egyptians.” And Moses was a very great man in the land of Egypt, in the sight of the servants of Pharaoh and of all the people.

4 Disse mais Moisés: Assim o Senhor tem dito: Á meia noite eu sairei pelo meio do Egito;

And he said: “Thus says the Lord: ‘In the middle of the night I will enter into Egypt.

5 E todo o primogênito na terra do Egito morrerá, desde o primogênito de faraó, que houvera de assentar-se sobre o seu trono, até ao primogênito da serva que está detraz da mó, e todo o primogênito dos animais.

And every firstborn in the land of the Egyptians shall die, from the firstborn of Pharaoh, who sits on his throne, even to the firstborn of the handmaid, who is at the millstone, and all the firstborn of the beasts of burden.

6 E haverá grande clamor em toda a terra do Egito, qual nunca houve semelhante e nunca haverá;

And there will be a great outcry throughout the entire land of Egypt, such as has not been before, nor ever will be afterward.

7 Mas entre todos os filhos de Israel nem ainda um cão moverá a sua língua, desde os homens até aos animais, para que saibais que o Senhor fez diferença entre os egípcios e os israelitas.

But among all the sons of Israel there shall not be even a mutter from a dog, from man, even to cattle, so that you may know how miraculously the Lord divides the Egyptians from Israel.’

8 Então todos estes teus servos descerão a mim, e se inclinarão diante de mim, dizendo: sai tu, e todo o povo que te segue as pisadas; e depois eu sairei. E saiu de faraó em ardor de ira

And all these, your servants, shall descend to me and shall reverence me, by saying: ‘Depart, you and all the people who are subject to you.’ After these things, we will depart.”

9 O Senhor dissera a Moisés: faraó vos não ouvirá, para que as minhas maravilhas se multipliquem na terra do Egito.

And he went out from Pharaoh exceedingly angry. Then the Lord said to Moses: “Pharaoh will not listen to you, so that many signs may be accomplished in the land of Egypt.”

10 E Moisés e Aarão fizeram todas estas maravilhas diante de faraó; mas o Senhor endureceu o coração de faraó, que não deixou ir os filhos de Israel da sua terra.

Now Moses and Aaron did all the wonders that are written, in the sight of Pharaoh. And the Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh; neither did he release the sons of Israel from his land.
